  1. My doc's plan is Clear liquids till the day you get home from the hospital. (2 days), Full liquids till the 1 week visit. 10 days of purees. 14 days of soft food. Then you add in regular food.
  2. I'm in the soft food stage now, myself. My Nut said "Crock Pot consistency". So I tried crock pot meatloaf last night. Nope. Pouch did not like it. Pouch evacuated a short while afterward, and ever since then I've had a taste in my mouth that won't go away.
  3. On purees now myself. Found a few recipes that really work for me. I've found flavored water goes down easier than plain water too. I'm also down 21.8 lbs since surgery day.
  4. Having weighed myself today, I find myself curious about other people's progress in their first week. I lost 13 lbs since my day of surgery, of which 3 were lost in the hospital. Admittedly, I'm a tall man, so that may skew things.

Past two days I've hit 62 grams of protein myself. Two shakes made with a local store's protein powder (half scoop in each with a half cup of milk), half a Greek Yogurt, and one of the BariatricPal soup mixes. I can't wait till Thursday because I move on to purees and can add a bit more variety. I'm very much looking forward to hummus, and this buffalo chicken puree thing that I'm eyeing.
  6. I very nearly got my protein in yesterday. Got more than my required fluids though. Goal is to finish two and a half water bottles. I finished three.

Haven't tried the soups yet. Felt a bit nauseous on my second yogurt try though. Had to stop after two bites.

Started full liquids today. Was able to do about 1.5 oz of yogurt this morning. Gonna be trying a protein shake soon.

Day after surgery, on clear liquids now. 1 oz every thirty minutes. The broth they have here in the hospital is delicious. I really don't like Jello.

Surgery day is tomorrow. Clear liquids for today. Lost 21 lbs on the pre-op diet.
  18. No, my follow-up is 1 week. So, roughly 7 days of full liquids. clear liquids ends the day I get back from the hospital. My surgery is the 26th. I leave the hospital the 28th, God willing. And then I have my follow-up visit on the 4th. (After which I will be allowed to drive)
  19. My clear liquids finish the day I get home from the hospital. I go on full liquids until my follow-up visit, then I go on purees for 10 days, and then 2 weeks of soft food.

    CPAP Users

My CPAP is an AutoPAP that runs from 6-20. Currently, pre-surgery, it sits higher, but I suspect it'll lower naturally.
  21. Day 8 of mine. I will say it gets easier, but you feel kind of funky due to how low calorie your diet is.
  22. 7 servings of Optifast, no more than two cups of watery veggies. No more than two sugar-free popsicles. I've lost 15 lbs since Monday.

Pre-op diet going well. I've lost 15 lbs in six days. 'course, I had gained about ten lbs in my food funeral week.
  24. It's Day 3 of my pre-op diet, of 7 servings of Optifast. I have found the following: The peanut butter bar sucks. Everything else is okay, but I find myself craving three things. I'm craving something crunchy. I'm craving something salty. And I'm craving something a bit more meat heavy. I'll deal with it, and I'm finding myself even looking forward to the clear liquids day before the surgery. Because then I can have some beef broth. I want beef broth. Anyone else have cravings on their pre-op, and how did you deal with them?
  25. So, since I was to start on my pre-op diet today (and did), I figured that I'd use last weekend to indulge a little bit. I had dinner at Texas de Brazil, and it was fantastic. Additionally, I had some ice cream. I'm wondering if anyone else had something like this, to kinda get it out of your system before putting yourself on the final path to your operation.
