  1. 4 days post op. Everything went fine. Little to no gas pains. My larger incision is hurting more than the first few days. It hurts around the incision like a bruise. Also my left upper leg is numb and tingly. Anyone else have these symptoms?

I'm a week post op today and woke up yesterday with my left upper leg swollen and sore. Called my Dr and they told me to go to the ER for an ultrasound to be sure there's no blood clots. Thankfully there wasn't. I have to have another one done in a week. The ER Dr said it's just muscular swelling. I go to my surgeon Wednesday so I'll see what he says.

  2. Sleeved on Mon 2/25. This big incision is killing me. It hurts on the inside soooooo bad. I cannot lay on my side at all. Either one. Only on my back. But not too flat. And this is my sixth abdominal surgery. So it’s not like I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve never hurt like this before. I just want to lay on my side!!!
I was sleeved the same day and am having the same pain and issue. I have yet to be able to lay in bed, I've been staying on the couch. Moving and drinking as much as I can but that big one is a nightmare [emoji31] My doctor said he had to make it bigger than he expected because of the size of my stomach. We'll get thru this!!

  3. 2 days post op. I know it gets better buy right now I'm so sore. No appetite to drink shakes. Sipping liquids. Took 36 hours for my bladder to wake up. Had a extra night in hospital so cardiac teams could evaluate me. I had open heart surgery 2017 to replace valve and repair one. So they took precautions. I felt more comfortable in the hospital then I do here at home. I know tomorrow will be better. Can't seem to get warm. I was also told no cpap till 2 week follow up. So not much sleep happening here. Sorry I'm such a downer. Be well you'all.
Hang in there! I'm still really sore and don't ever feel like drinking. I'm making myself sip very often to make sure I'm hydrated. I don't want to end up back in the hospital. I'm not allowed shakes until Saturday. I'm on Clear Liquids. I'm surprised about the CPAP. My Dr had me bring mine to the hospital and told me to keep using it till the pulmonologist tells me not to. Which would be after another sleep study. Like I said hang in there! We got this! Just take it a sip at a time [emoji4]

  4. Hey! I have the same insurance, but I don't know if the cover skin removal. Someone told me along this process that they do as long as it it medically necessary. But I didn't hear that from the insurance company so I don't know how accurate it is. I had my surgery Monday and they put me on a new blood pressure pill. It's much smaller and I can get it down. They will tell you what you can and can't take. Where are you having it done? I'm in South Jersey. I don't know about everyone else but I have been very happy to have the help the past few days since I've been home. Walking and sipping can take a lot out of you so help is nice, but I don't know that it's required for each person. Have you seen a nutritionist yet? They will explain the whole pre-op diet for you. And don't worry about the number on a scale, worry about your health and how you feel. Your going to do great!

  5. Today was my EGD. The past week, I've had really bad reflux, so I was nervous going in that he would tell me the sleeve wouldn't work. I think it was probably stress related, because I've also had trouble sleeping the past 2-3 weeks, and I've been getting itchy, which is a big stress indicator for me. Doctor did say I have a small hiatal hernia, which I expected because I was told that years ago, and that he could fix it during surgery. He said I'm still a good candidate for the sleeve! He also did a stomach biopsy to see if I'll need to go on antibiotics before surgery - not sure how common that is. I'm just relieved that the EGD went well!
My Dr did the same biopsy, so I assumed it was common lol! Glad all went well! Do you have a date?

  6. I have the same surgery date! I was told no pre-op diet, but I gained 7 pounds and my Dr says I have to do a 7 day shake diet. I start on Monday. I hope it helps achieve whatever needs to happen. Best of luck on your surgery!
Awesome! 7 days isn't too bad. All shakes? I have 3 shakes a day, raw vegetables and one "meal" a day. Thanks! Same to you!

  7. So I started my preop diet today... never did I think my body could give me so much pain.. and those darn hunger cramps and headaches and I have to take supplements too. Any advice on getting through this stage.I find that I'm hungry every four hours and after taking my Calcium supplements the hunger gets worse. I am taking my daily intake of Water.

I'm on day 2 of pre-op, I know what your feeling all too well. The headaches are the worst. I just keep drinking more Water and carrot chips are my new best friend lol. We'll get thru it like many have before us and many will after! Positive thinking!

  8. My steak dinner was wonderful, and it included two glasses of wine, a "loaded" baked potato and chocolate mousse for dessert.
However, my surgeon's office called this morning and said they need to postpone my surgery for a week due to the doctor's schedule. Fortunately, I had only had two Protein Shakes by then and could eat a regular lunch.< br>
Glad you enjoyed but sorry to hear the news of postponement [emoji30]. At least it was day 1 and not 13! Enjoy one more week!!
