How are my fellow February sleevers doing? Haven't heard much from you guys in awhile!
I'm 7 weeks out, feeling good, and adapting well to my forever diet.
I lost 22 lbs. on the 2 week pre-op diet, however I have only lost another 32 lbs. in 7 weeks post-op. But combined that's 54lbs. in 9 weeks and I'll take that!

I went back to work after 1 week. I have a desk job, so no stress for me there. Feeling really great at 1 month out.

Awesome!! I'm about 25lbs down if I go back to Feb. 6th when I started the pre-op. I guess I just hoped for the 2lb loss daily for the first 2 weeks post-op but hey, we're on the "loser's bench!"
  4. Congrats!

Dont ignore the rulesNo corn or any other veggies. Seems to have eggs in a slightly thickened soup.

Here they toss in veggies in the soup but I can eat around them. 😉

cocoakp2 did the egg drop Soup have corn? Here it seems they all have corn, carrots and possibly peas. I’m not so clear on whether or not that qualifies as ok. I’m afraid to mess up. So far both has really upset my stomach but I’m trying to be good and not completely ignore rules. 😃

I tried the egg drop Soup (takeout) and I was surprised that it didn't upset my stomach. Oddly enough I'm struggling with the Protein Shakes and yogurt. BTW I had the sleeve on the 19th.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using BariatricPal mobile app

I was also had sleeve surgery on the 19th. I am down 20 lbs. I know what you mean about the Jello and pudding, but for me it is yogurt and Protein shakes!! I am loving the egg drop Soup though. Homemade or takeout, though I have to say takeout is the best. Poached eggs and cottage cheese and pineapple pureed are also up on my list!

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I took in everything that was said. Surgery went well and now I'm home. The nurses on the Bariatric floor said I was their star patient. I was up and walking and doing laps as soon as I felt I could. I have a lot of pain in the incision site where they took my stomach and gallbladder out. I think if it was just vsg, I would be in little to no pain. But I'm home resting, walking and sipping Water. Thanks everyone!

Miramax every night is what my PA told me. Slow move yes heard works good. Dilute some prime juice might help.

I had my surgery on 2/19 . Getting better but recovery is a bit more difficult. Getting in the recommended amount of fluids has been a challenge

Yeah I'm sipping from a cup now. But I take a full breath and exhale before I drink so I don't get in as much air.

COCOAKP2 reacted to Frustr8 in Is there any way to waive the 6 month pre op supervised diet requirements with BCBS? Any Dr recommendations in MI that will?
Try Dr Mark Pleatman, I think his location( if I recall right) is Bloomfield Hills, he is often on the Bariatric Pal pages as an highly approved surgeon, if his office will not work with you ( dollars to donuts they will) I'm sure they can recommend someone who will.
What's in it for me to to state this recommendation? Not a durn thing, never been his patient, his picture looks personable, I'm just a humble Buckeye. who found her miracle worker bariatric surgeon at Ohio State University, had her surgery September 5th, and just wants everybody to find a perfect fit. Oh and P.S. many insurance companies are dropping the 6 month requirements, oh that yours would join them! Best wishes from The Center of Ohio and ME!

Use the 6-month period for preparation and developing the necessary mind-set. This isn't a short-cut to weight loss. It is a long-term commitment. Have you addressed the reasons that you were not successful with lap-band? This is a major, irrevocable life-change. Unlike lap-band, you can't change your mind and have your stomach put back in. The surgery is the smallest part of success. Your brain isn't changed by the surgery and that's what will determine whether you're successful or not. Good luck.

I stopped pain meds also, I was afraid of the addictive aspects so I just dealt with it as much as I could. Walking around/moving really really helped

@cocoaakp2 surgery was fine but I was extremely nauseous and throwing up after all day long. Worst day ever . Now my bp is high and they think it may be from the pain meds. I’m not really in any significant pain, just sore and my head is pounding. Hopefully today goes better.
    Thank you!
