I would get crystal light or Gatorade zero and medicine cups to help you sip on everything

    Getting Stuck

Are you chewing really well to an applesauce consistency? And earring slowly?
  3. What was your first solid/soft food you tried, when you started stage 3? I had my two week follow up (3days early because Monday they’re closed and that’s when it would be exactly 2 weeks) and I have a lost 19lbs. I was told I can start stage 3 today but I’m starting tomorrow. Also what are some tips you can give me? I know one thing at a time as well as a little at a time like 2oz.

    Stage 3

oh wow that is awesome! As hard as it is because I love to shop I have not bought anything lol I haven't even tried on my jeans I been living out of my leggings and workout pants but I'm a little afraid to try my jeans on because of were they sit will be on one of my incisions. that is awesome how you were aloud to start solid/soft foods right out of the hospital. my surgeon had me on stage 1 clear liquids in hospital and started stage 2 liquids until my follow up and now on stage 3. So far I've had an equal amount of egg whites to a full egg with a tiny bit of sugar free bbq which was enough for me, lunch I had 2 oz of homemade split pea soup and for dinner I've had 2oz of cottage cheese on reduced fat ritz crackers. so far all has set well
  5. I can't even drink one, I get about 2 ounces of it then I'm stuffed. I'm having a really hard time with the desire to drink anything. You just have to force yourself. My mom thankfully took the week off to help me out. She literally was on me about drinking ever couple minutes
  6. Yes that’s how it was for me too my first week. I only used the cups for week 1 because o drank too fast once during the week because I wasn’t using them and I felt really nauseous. And now I can sip without using them
  7. It was sure difficult I had the gastric sleeve but what I found helpful was using the medicine cups and drinking one per 15 minutes just like they started me out in the hospital and now I’m doing much better

What to bring with to the hospital

I was told I wouldn’t need to bring my inhaler, i too barely use it. I had taken and used :phone, phone charger, hairbrush, face wipes and my glasses cleaner. What I took but didn’t use: adult coloring book and marker(I had a morning surgery), hand lotion, face lotion, flushable wipes. I was asleep most of the day after surgery until about 4 I wanted to walk. Wore same clothes there and from

    Has this happened to anyone?

I told my surgeon today at my follow up and he told me I probably over did it and with barely anything in me that caused it but he said that will happen and it’s nice to pin point

Oh no. Also has it been itchy for you around the glue?

    Where are my water guzzlers?

I think it depends on where your at post op. For me I’m on stage 2 liquids/Semi liquids so no solids are going in. I think chiptress is also on the stage as me

    Incision Care

Is it a glue? They put a glue over my stitches to help prevent infection. It’s suppose to start lifting and peeling on its own within 7-10 according to my surgeon and discharge nurse. I was told not to submerge myself in water (showers were okay) and no creams. I too had surgery on 8/19/19 VSG
  13. Tuesday I had my Pre-admitting appointment where I will be having my surgery and when they handed me my folder of information for surgery day with the soap and the breathing device, made everything more real. Can’t believe I only have 2 weeks and 2 days till Surgery Day!! I will be having my Pre-op Office visit with my surgeon on the 12th (anyone know what happens at the pre-op office visits?).  I know the next two weeks will be going by fast .

    Surgery Today

Glad to hear your doing good! Was the pain with water in your stomach or in your chest? I felt pressure in my chest the first few days. Also was the water cold? I was told to have room temp/ was given room temp in the hospital so I wouldn’t get stomach cramps/pain.

    A clothing swap forum?

I like that idea! Have you heard of poshmark? We can share our usernames to share our closets (I have a few things on there that I am trying to sell that I don’t want anymore or are too big)

    Stomach sleeper

I tried with a pillow and it was the best night of sleep I’ve had since surgery, YAY. Thanks everyone
  21. For those of you who sleep on your stomach (not sides), how long did it take for you to try to sleep on your stomach after surgery? I am 5days post op and I can fall asleep on my right side but not my left. I am. Full stomach sleeper but I’m afraid to try just because I do have discomfort when I try to lay on my left still. Also, when I lay on my side I feel like everything inside shifts down with a little discomfort but not much unless I try my left side, that’s when the discomfort is there a lot which is the reason why I haven’t tried to lay on my stomach . My surgeon said I can lay on my stomach whenever. Just want to see how it was for others. Thanks

    Strongman Lifting

Hi i know I am not a guy but i had the same thoughts as you!  I am still in recovery but I’m a part of a boot camp weight training with a little cardio type of gym and by my surgeons instructions i can’t return till after 6weeks. And even then, i have to listen to my body but I can’t wait. I would ask your surgeon and tell him why type of gym you attend so he/she gives you their best opinion.
