  1. That’s me too, even tho it’s been 3 yrs I am still losing weight but it’s very very slowly. The biggest chunk is gone, Thank goodness 😀 My doctor is happy with my progress and tells me I look healthy and I feel so much better. I figured surgery is probably it for when it comes to Turkey waddle neck but was hoping someone had a secret trick. Lol I have noticed with time and more activity I’m getting toned and my other areas are looking better and I may not need anything done. My neck and my arms tho, Eeeeek

  2. I think what you might not be taking into consideration, is her health, this woman you are criticizing may have been having bad health problems with excessive weight. Too much weight can cause Bad knees and hurt to walk and do just about everything, high blood pressure, sugar levels could have been out of wack and her hormones could have kept her so uncomfortable she was miserable. Probably also had trouble breathing when she walked or attempted to do any exercise. I’m sure now that she’s thinner she’s more active and feeling better, can breathe and doesn’t feel like a pack horse. Her blood counts are most likely normal and she just added yrs to her life.

  3. 3 years ago I had a RNY bypass, lost 126 lbs. I’m down to a size 8 some 6’s but I’ve always liked my clothes loose. I’m still trying to get use to the changes to my body, and I’m wondering what others have done to better these problem areas. Mine is my neck, I now have all this extra skin that hangs like a Turkey waddle and I’m very conscious of it. When the pandemic was happening and we had to wear masks I could hide it with the mask. Now that the pandemic is pretty much under control tho I feel like that’s what people look at when they look at me. Please help me, get rid of this, is there exercises that will get rid of it? I’ve been using collagen and retinol creams and putting collagen in my Soups even. Plastic surgery is my last resort if there even is a surgery to remove neck skin.
My other problem area is my arms - bat wings, I’ve been lifting 10 lb weights doing various exercises and I do see some change but not enough that completely satisfy me, again I use my lotions and take my collagen but could use some suggestions from someone that might have had the same issues and let me know what they did. Thank you😀

  4. I did just have some guacamole for the first time since my surgery, I love guacamole before my surgery but I really love it now and amazingly can eat it without chips, something before had I would never have thought nor dare do. I will say taste buds change after surgery I didn’t know this would happen. Mostly for the good, I can’t stand anything sweet now and find my Protein Shakes to be to sweet and had to get with my nutritionist to modify them to where I wasn’t messing with the nutritional value yet making them less sweet. Plus thank goodness for chicken broth I’ve had to substitute it frequently for my Protein shakes because of being to nauseous from the sweetness of the Protein Drinks.

  5. I’ll be the crazy one and admit I miss most of all Celery. I’m never hungry now at all, and have to set a timer to eat or I don’t get all my Protein for the day. I’m 16 days post op of RNY bypass and just now allowed stage 3 purées soft foods. For the past 3 weeks tho I’ve wanted Celery and I can’t say Celery has ever been my big go to food just a snack I’d eat with chicken wings or dip in spinich dip. Nutritionist says it’s because I’m missing the crunch of food, which makes sense. I tried making Celery Soup thinking it would cure me of this infatuation I’m having but I was quite disappointed and upset as not only did it not taste like Celery to me but I wasn’t able to eat it as it just wasn’t what I wanted so I chose to Protein Shake that meal instead. I’ve thought of pureeing some celery but a lil voice in my head tells me it will disappoint me too.😪

  6. Don’t be nervous, I’m 5 days post op and it’s the best thing I could have done. I use to take 42 pills a day for different health problems, instantly after surgery I am reduced to 8 pills I will eventually need to start taking Vitamins that I haven’t started yet but that will be nothing compared to those nasty meds I’ve talked for 25+ yrs that have damaged my kidneys.
Just remind yourself the health benefits behind it. . I will also let you know in these 5 days I haven’t had one hunger pain. I just keep up with the routine I was told and it works. Plan on setting a goal for walking to relieve any gas pain. It helps too. I couldn’t have any pain meds because of my kidney disease so I did a lot of walking.. I’m now working my way up to 10,000 steps from 5,000. Best wishes to you and you will be amazing

  7. Day 3 post op I’m very sore, and not just my belly my hips and shoulders feel like they have been squeezed tight into a tube or something they didn’t fit in. Lol I’ve been doing a lot of stretches trying to ease this pain. Walking walk-in walking 5000 steps is my goal everyday for now I’ll eventually get back to my 10,000 + when im not so sore. My dog Jalapeño he’s a chihuahua. Appreciates the break too lol. Gonna make a cauliflower chicken broth very mushy Soup today I’ve been dreaming about it for days so I can’t wait to have it. Thanks for the birthday wishes feeling like I made the best decision ever and looking forward to my future. Best wishes to you all and if anyone needs any recipes for Soups I love make soups and I’m pretty creative. Gonna make a eggplant and Tomato one soon. Bless you all♥️🤗

  8. Thank you, I’ve been needing to get off of a lot of meds for a long time, they’ve slowly damaged my kidneys, I had a shunt placed in my brain to remove excess Fluid and was told then they would take me off some of the meds but they never did because they said they couldn’t. The shunt was for my pseudo tumor cerebrum condition and I was having seizures. I have a feeling if everything goes well with this they may even remove my shunt at some time in the future. A girl can hope. Dr did mention it to me. Day 3 post op I’m very s

  9. Oh no I hope my taste buds don’t change I’m all about the foods they say we are aloud to have. I’m not a junk food eater just have a non existent metabolism with a lot of health problems that I hope will be resolved once the weight comes off. I’ve got a lot of hope and positive energy and feeling good about all this. My starting weight was 296 and I’m at 255 now hoping to get to 250 in the next 7 days. Do you mind if I ask what surgery are you getting I’m getting the RNY bypass.

  10. Hello my friends hope everyone is doing well, I finally made it home they kept me an extra day as I couldn’t be on any pain meds as I have kidney failure and they could damage them more. I was also throwing up a lot. I’ve only thrown up once here at home and that’s because I couldn’t get my chicken broth to dissolve completely and started choking on it which triggered me to throw up.
my nutritionist did tell me when I left I was doing so well I could move on to stage 2 when I got home. I do think since the chicken broth didn’t go so well I’ll hold off a few more days. I’m getting 5000 steps in. My pain is getting better but still there. Hard to sleep wish I had one of those hospital beds. My doctor did take me off of10 of my meds which is 22 pills which will help in saving my kidneys😀. Tomorrow’s my birthday the 14th and I’m so happy I had this done the pain will eventually be gone and I will eventually be healthy. As soon as I’m up to it and feeling good I plan on doing a lil shopping with my daughter. My goal is a size 8

  12. I too reorganized, even repainted my closet. Bought some new clothes and have them sized down from my current to size 8. The clothes That are already to big for me I’ve washed tagged for a garage sale and put in my she-shed for a sale next year. Down 3 sizes started size 22 but can now wear a size 18. Whoop whoop. Excited and feeling great to have clothes that look nicer and LOOSER on me. I’ve been having my daughter take periodic pictures of me Thru this journey and can’t wait to see the very end result and the transformation she puts together for me with her film. I’ve already seen differences that amaze me. Sometimes you don’t realize how bad it was you came from til you see where you worked so hard to get. You realize you never want to go back to that bad place again.
    Size 8 I’m coming for you🤗

  13. Surgery tomorrow haven’t got my time yet but was told be there at 6 am a couple days ago unless my phone call tells me differently. Super excited and I have my surgeon preop appointment today. Not sure how many of you have sampled the Chili Unjury brand Protein Soup but I’m loving it. I’ve made it twice now and learned after the first time that 1/2 a pack or 1/2 a scoop is very filling so I just save the other half for when I start feeling those hunger pains again. I highly recommend it if you like things with lots of flavor and spice.
Now I may have over did this as I tend to in my excitement but I went on my liver reduction diet early and have been consuming less than 800 calories for 17 days. I’ve been feeling light headed and dizzy and of course the headaches that are normal. I’ve only been on straight liquids for the past 4 days as my doctor only required me to be on them for 2. Besides the dizziness I feel good and just wondering if anyone else having light headed and dizzy spells and roughly how many calories you’ve consumed during the liver reduction period. My dietician didn’t want us to count calories just make sure we implemented certain items which I did Protein Drinks and 1 meal high in protein with veggies. Then of course switch to all liquid the final 2 days. Some days I did only get 600 calories and found it hard to reach 800. My dizzier days
    Best wishes everyone

  14. Only a couple more days til surgery, been on my liver reduction diet for 14 days now I started early, going well but I’m more aware of everyone’s conversations when they talk food and it annoys me so I tend to leave the room. Don’t know how my family is gonna be able to survive the next month, as I’m the cook in the house and these last 2 weeks have been a struggle for them as I’ve made easier meals and things I don’t really like but they do for them just to get out of the kitchen so that I wouldn’t be tempted. I have informed them that I needed their support in this and they may have to fend for themselves. It’s not like the 2 freezers aren’t full and the refrigerator isn’t stocked. Cupboards are full too. Just don’t burn down my house, or ruin my cooking equipment. LOL

  16. I’m scheduled for Dec 11 so very excited, one week away and it can’t get here fast enough. Liver reduction is doing well, and I’ve begun making recipes and freezing for future meals for after surgery. I’ve even started going thru my clothes and weeded out my fat clothes I’ve already grown out of. I did save my biggest pair of fat jeans and top so I can show where I came from when this is all over with. I’m so looking forward to a healthier active life. Best wishes everyone

  17. I’m scheduled December 11 excited and so thrilled it’s finally happening. It’s been a long time happening I started this journey in December of last year. Was going to a Bariatric center that my insurance company didn’t approve unknown to me. So I had to start over at a different one that they did approve thank goodness it only took them 3 months to approve me once I completed their requirements. So ready!!!!

  18. That makes me feel better and I hope all facilities work that way. I don’t know if that’s how the place I’m going to works as the comment made to me made me wonder. I was originally told that this was a 6 month process and expected to have already had mine before summer. When I finished my requirements this comment was made about teachers and that it may be a while til then I would only want to check in once a month with my food logs and visit with the dietician til I get my date for surgery. Well 3 months later and still no word, I keep doing my part but I feel like I’ve been pushed back and am frustrated over it.

  19. Thanks for your encouragement!! I’m in the USA live in Indiana, I guess I just have seen so many here not be required what has been requested of me and get frustrated. At one of my recent appointments I was told it might take at least 3 months to get insurance approval after completing everything expected of me and all those tests. I can’t remember exactly how it was worded to me but they stated “That they will be busy with teachers and educators surgery during the summer months while school is out.” I didn’t ask as it’s none of my business really but I certainly hope these teachers and educators are held to the same standards as I. I didn’t expect this to be easy and you know as well as I it hasn’t been. Just frustrated and in need of getting off a lot of my meds to save my kidneys. The weight loss is suppose to do that for me.

Good Luck with your surgery and I wish you a quick and painless recovery, please keep me / us posted how everything goes. Best wishes

  20. I was told today that I either need to return my c- pap machine or pay for it in full that I hadn’t used it enough for insurance to cover its cost. I guess they require you to use it 42 days out of 60. Well I’ve had nothing but issues with it and I hate it. I had to go 2 weeks without it because I got a bad cold and was super congested I have the nasal mask so it is impossible to breath when your that congested. After I got over the congestion I had sores in my nose which hurt and even tho I did use the c- pap it was so uncomfortable it kept me awake and I was unable to wear it a whole 4 hrs a day. On good days I still attempted to sleep with it for 4 hrs but still found myself constantly waking up to where I was getting no sleep and exhausted the rest of the day. The sleep study showed that I have a mild case of sleep apnea and that the machine was helping me with very few occurances but I also wasn’t getting any actual sleep. I’m hoping me returning it doesn’t ruin my chances of getting the by- pass as I’ve done everything, lots of tests and lots of appointments, lost weight and followed their rules for the past 9 months. I’m getting so very discouraged and frustrated that it’s taking this long to get approved.

  21. I should be hearing my date any day now, expecting an August one I’ve done everything required and had all the tests done. It’s been a 7 almost 8 month process for me. Trying to stay patient wish insurance didn’t take so long.
I’ve lost 45 lbs on my own so far pre surgery can already feel a difference health wise so I’m excited for the future loss the surgery will give me. I started at 296. We own horses and I want to ride my horses again as my kids have grown up and are working on their careers so the horses aren’t getting road by them anymore. It’s my turn again and I’m so looking forward to it but gotta lose this weight first. Good luck to you and hopefully I’ll be posting my date real soon!!!

  22. As soon as I started the program which was 7 months ago I’m still waiting on insurance approval which I should get any time now. I’m interested in finding out how your able to get approval without going thru the 6 month process. It can’t be healthy for you to go thru this process so quickly without being monitored and instructed on what you should and shouldn’t be consuming. There is a lot to it and sounds to me they are just throwing it at you. I hope your successful but they should have prepared you better!!!
