  1. So happy to have this forum available. Get more from this information then attending my support group @Kaiser. Same 4 people speak over and over again.....same stories or woe's. No one else gets a chance to share experiences about weight stalls, avoiding temptation etc... Hoping my stall is ending, been on hold for awhile, but lost 1.2 pounds in last week. I can always look thru old posts for info too! Happy to read how everyone progresses. Keep up good work!


  2. Yes, Sophie I am enjoying all of it! 3 lbs to go for you and you can do it! It's a wonderful feeling to be here. Went on a mini vacation last week & we went to a buffet.....too funny for words. Little baked chicken & green Beans and I was done. Thankfully the meal was a comp from the casino! Read a article recently that over 3/4 of donated clothing to thrift stores (goodwill, salvation army) end up in landfills or boxed off too 3rd world countries. Or sold to be cut up into rags and sold to manufacturing plants. Because of large volumes they receive. While I am ok for the 3rd world countries getting clothing, I am not on board for the other two. Making great effort to get my old clothes to others. Some to nail tech, some to ladies at work who "dress" for work, some to a couple who go to Mexico often. Makes me feel better doing so. Spent a lot of money on those clothes and ending up in a landfill makes me cringe! You should be very proud of yourself. This isn't easy, but the path we chosen to follow. I am with you, dont miss sugar or fats and when I do try a "taste" make my tummy hurt, not worth it! Happy Spring to you too and a lighter Summer.

    Today in 8weeks out from surgery and down 39 pounds. I was stalled for weeks 5,6, and 7. Then this week I lost 7 pounds. I was struggling to get even 30oz of Water. I had to change my routine this week was the first week I was able to get in my 64oz but it made all the difference.

  4. I am 10 weeks out, liquid is hard for me at times too. I keep Water on my night stand. Wake up take a swig and keep sipping till I leave for work. Breakfast when I get to work....then liquids till snack or lunch. I work with a group of nurses who have me look for dehydration signs.... thirst, dry skin or dark pee. So even if I dont make all the liquid, I seem to be doing ok. I dont flay myself if I dont make it everyday. Protein, I try to get as much as I can with food. Eaten some weird stuff for breakfast lately....left over dinner? But it's getting me there. Also some protein water, which a little to sweet for me....but I dilute it down as I sip. Adding more water, which works both protein and water goals. Fluctuate your calorie intake...body gets used to same amount of calories everyday and scale won't move. A personnel trainer taught me that trick years ago. Really paid off this week for me. Down 37 lbs from 12/17/18 surgery. Just takes patience to get where were going.

I have also experienced a stall since advancing from liquid diet to soft/puree however have noticed my clothes fitting looser so I don't think it is all about the scale? I have seen post where people can't get in past 400 calories and am wondering how that can be? I have to drink a minimum of 2 Protein Drinks a day and the Bariatric Advantage powder (because these have 200% of DV Vitamin requirements needed) itself is 150 calories along with 80 calories for the fat free milk (Mootopia) I mix it in with so that's 230 for each shake and a total of 430 along with all the required Vitamins & supplements that total 120 calories just for those alone. So for me to get the minimum required Vitamins and Proteins ( which I will make sure I do per less chance of loosing hair and other problems with deficiencies) that's 580 calories by itself. Throw some food in there and it's easy to get almost 800 or more calories in a day. I don't always walk like I should per bad weather and I think if I would remain consistent here it would help me get out of this stall. I am also diligent with drinking a minimum of 64 ozs of Water a day and many times go beyond this. I am not having much trouble keeping any food down but usually find that I can only eat about a 1/4th cup amount of food. I haven't pushed much beyond this unless it's applesauce or yogurt. I am still trying to figure out what all the grumbles and noises my digestive system is all about? Not sure what hunger pains feel like or if it is just digestive unease? It is like me and my body are getting reacquainted and I am forced to now listen to it more and decipher what is actually going on?

    Surgery 12/1718 - Share you concerns about calorie intake after those shakes! Applesauce & yogurt my go too. I can only take on so much food too. For some exercise in bad weather...."skate" movement like an ice skater....you can do it while watching t.v. Set your own pace....its cardio. Videos on internet. I might not be as intense or have the perfect form as videos but it works and got things moving. Down 30lbs. Took awhile for me to get those digestive sounds down too.....but finally can tell difference between hunger and tummy issues. Give it another week. I had a caprese salad last night, slice of Tomato, slice mozzarella, basil, drizzle of olive oil & balsamic vinegar. Very low calorie, good Protein. Took a few minutes for my tummy to decide if could handle but then it settled down and enjoyed! Usually takes about a hour or two if something new will result in direahrea. This did not happen. Did miss the bread to dunk in the oil and vinegar, but stay strong. I have never vomited.....came close but have been able to talk myself out of each time. Dr. finds that funny...lol!


  6. Has anyone tried the patch Vitamins? I really hitting a wall with the chewable. I can barely eat them anymore. Have three flavors, caramel, chocolate and cherry. I just start to gag on them. Having a little issue with Protein Shakes to. Guess to much of a "good" thing. Doing some Protein waters to mix it up. Going to gym too....elliptical, treadmill, weight machines for legs arms and free weights. When safe to do abs? Consistently worked out before surgery...miss the abs. Has released me to swim though. 6 weeks today..
