You can look at it that way. But what if you do not lose the weight. It could lead to heart attack or other health issues if we continued going down the same road. I do agree that it is a huge change mentally and physically. I am 40 years old. We have eaten one way for so long and now we have to do it another way.

I got mine done on the 8th also, everything went well. I wanted to let ppl know where I went, because they were great. I went to Pompeii Surgical in Mexico. My insurance would pay. My cost was $4800 however, they do in house financing. I had to put down 2k, & they are financing balance for 1 year I’m only paying $546 in interest over the course of the loan. They recorded by procedure on a thumb drive & gave it to me. They picked me up at the airport & 2 hospital days & 1 hotel day. Brought me to the airport this AM. My Surgeon came to see me 4 times & they did 2 leak tests.

Hi Marchers! I’m 1 week post-op today and feeling great! So far I’m down 14lbs in 1 week which is unbelievable! I’m off of all pain meds including Tylenol. I’m tolerating Water, Decaf coffee, Protein Shakes, SF pudding & Jello, broth, cream Soup (strained) and even very soupy grits. As of day 3 it’s been pretty easy getting all of my 64oz of fluids. I basically just sip all day. I’m nervous only because I HAVENT encountered anything that made me feel too full or sick since day 2 post-op. I have another week of this above “liquid diet” then I get 2 weeks of soft/puréed food. My energy levels are higher each day. I even did 10000 steps on 3/9 without really trying. Good luck to all of the pre-op & post op folks out there! Follow your doctor/nurse’s orders and I’m sure you’ll all do great also!

Hershey's does make a sugar-free Syrup and it's only 5 calories per TBSP. I keep it in my house to help get me through those chocolate cravings. Not going to lie...I have gotten a tablespoon and squirted the syrup into that and just eaten it out of the measuring spoon. The chocolate struggle is real.

The best gift I got out of WLS was fighting and overcoming the mental battles. Some of this may be counseling and changing old behaviors over to healthy habits. Learning to live a healthy lifestyle was eye opening and exciting. Research research research! Take in all the information out there. youtube, read books, studies on WLS and documentaries.

I actually don’t know anyone who had the sleeve. I went into surgery to have bypass and ended up with a sleeve. Not disappointed only that weight comes off slower. We have a granddaughter getting married in August and want to look good and look happy.

Tht is so sad ,was his in a inoperable place ,as well ,they told me “losing the excess weight is what would help”but I appreciate the prayers ,I was really scared at first ,but I have since got over tht fear, I thk ,god just comes and collects some of us early,
,I never did find out what caused mine ,but I contribute it the body weight ,when I met with my nutritionist I asked “where she been all my life lol ,cause tht is something we don’t understand when we are young and invincible tht hey the Big Mac is really killing us ,I wish I would had eaten better younger ,and earlier but hey it’s never too late right ,my heart bleeds for you ,but know tht life here is short and temporary ,and it goes bye so fast ,your son will be waiting for you at the gates ,where the streets are paved with gold and there is so pain ,tears ,or sadness , I wouldn’t know what it would be like to bury a child as I can’t imagine ,but he sure must been special ,cause I believe ,god takes the special ones early ,as Jesus was in his thirties as well .

I did ,and I don’t mean tht litterily I just mean tht I love to cook( I’m a CEO) of A small town pizzeria ,(I’m being recommended for this due to the fact tht I have a inoperable aneurysm in the chambers of heart wall ,(it’s inbetween the top right and left chambers )losing a 100 pounds will release the pressure of of it ) it’s going to be a challenge I know ,and a new introduction to Caulflower Pizza Crust and more greens etc ,I started at 259 six months ago ,I’m current at 230 and we’ll with thyroid issues to boot it’s been hard )

58 days since surgery. My total weight loss is up to 69 lbs. It really hits home when I see photos. The left was the day of my surgery (May 10) and I was 477. The right is today, I was 408 lbs.

I am almost in the 300 lb club again!
