    stomach noises

I was just wondering about this myself! I'm only 2.5 months out, but my stomach has a musical band in it that loves to play when I'm eating! Was wondering if this is the new norm for me or if it will pass. From your post I'm thinking it's the new norm

    Sweating

I am sooo looking forward to being a bit more heat tolerant I've been waiting for the warmer weather to decide if has made a difference, but so far I've been surprised at how NOT hot I am! I haven't used my fan at work, and that's usually on every day.
  4. I felt the same, very private. I ended up just saying I was having surgery.....that's it.
  5. Yes, when I take too big of a sip, I get the same pain.

    4 days post op

And don't forget, your system is going to take a bit of time to get to a new normal. What you were used to is most probably going to change some.

    4 days post op

I had diarrhea for about 4 days when I got home. I started to get worried, but then thought that I have had no solids in a while, so it's no big deal. I am on the pureed stage right now and have very soft stool now. Just remember to drink lots of fluids!

    Getting my surgery tomorrow

Make sure and walk as much as you can.....it's really the only way to get rid of the gas pains. They linger but get less and less everyday. In between walks, do as little up and down out of the bed as possible. You need to heal Sip your water in TINY sips and slowly. I am 2 weeks out and my incisions are still a little sore and I still have a little gas every now and then, but I admit I'm not walking as much as I should since the weather stinks right now. You did it! Good luck on this great adventure you are beginning!
  9. Hope all goes well! I remember being excited

    Diet

I am/was pretty much like KCgirl. It's been difficult for me, but then I keep the thought that it's ONLY 2 weeks. Considering everything else, I can handle that!
  11. Pureed starting tomorrow for me! Excited about that and will be excited to get to soft stage!
  12. sounds tasty! I went shopping yesterday to get ready for my mushy stage. Excited to add variety to my meals
  13. I had my surgery 3/26. Everyone is different, as I found out. While some have no hunger and no cravings, others still do. I happen to be the unfortunate one that woke up hungry still crave food. However, when you are recovering from surgery, perhaps watching more TV than usual including all the food commercials, it's kinda hard. At least for me. The full liquid is probably the hardest part, and I have confidence that as I get to the next stage, it will get easier. I might still get hungry, but I also get full with very little. After a few months, if I have a tremendous craving for something, I will be able to eat it, but only a very small amount. Portion control is a huge help. Bottom line, imo, is that no. The surgery may not rid you of obsessive thoughts, but again it could! If not, what it will do is give you time and tools and a head start to tame those thoughts. After all, you may want a big fat cheesburger, but your stomach will make you pay dearly if you have it! So it's not so much 'you shouldn't', but more 'you physically can't'.

    After surgery

I am. I start out good, then I poop out quick.
  15. Yes! Take smaller sips. I mean ridiculously small sips, and swallow slowly. I'm fine if I do this, and if I forget myself my stomach lets me know! I think as time goes by and the swelling goes down, it will get better, but I've learned that I will never be taking swallows of anything again. Oh, I had my surgery the day before you.
