My log says Tomato basil tortilla but it’s the whole wheat flax type (same macros)
I’m not mad about this new development at all. Also I only ate about 40% of this with a spoonful of coleslaw

Can tweak the toppings too! It's a bariatric favorite!

It may be a while before you can eat the crust, but the toppings are the best part anyway! Try a ricotta bake for the pizza taste too. I think I ate the cheese off a slice of pizza around 2.5 months post op!

About 6 months. I can eat one slice now at 2 years post-op but I really just stick to the toppings and no crust now.

No anger here. I think I first attempted pizza at about 4-5 months post op. I’ll still have half a slice from time to time. I’ve been delighted that I am completely satisfied after half a slice. Allowing this kind of “treat” from time to time has made this livable for me long term. I’ve met my first goal weight, so it hasn’t derailed my process overall. I think the key is just keeping these kind of foods (high carb/fat) an occasional thing rather than falling back in to old habits and having them daily.

Today is one of those days where I am so happy with the outcome of not one, but two bariatric surgeries. I had a gastric sleeve in 2014 and most recently a gastric bypass in October 2020. I found the 2013 picture in my Google photos and figured it was time for a comparison photo! This is the first time I've worn jeans, with a shirt tucked in and a belt, since 2015. I bought the belt in 2018 and yesterday my husband had to cut off 7 inches!!

I use Vital Proteins collagen peptides. I tried a few unflavored whey Protein powders and couldn't stand the whey taste. My dietitian recommended this and it barely has any taste.

“I just had some stuff, too much to get into now but all taken care of and I’m back!” If you follow up with a question about them (what they’ve been doing, project at work, random work gossip) that generally ends it because people love to talk about themselves.

Then when anyone asks me if I’m losing weight I always say “I’m working on it!”
When they ask me how much i have lost I laugh and say “Not the amount I want yet but I’m still plugging away!”

I always try to end my answers on a positive note. I’m sure people have figured out that I’m not giving out details but if you’re cheerful about it people generally will stop pressing. Also once you’re done deflecting bring it back to something vaguely related you know they want to talk about and just like that you’re done.

23 days post op today. Just did my first 3.5 mile walk post op and felt great! Also tried on a bikini I bought from Shein that arrived today. The cups are teeny tiny-one errant move and I’d be in a nip slip situation! This’ll be going back, but it’s fun to see my 51 year old boobs looking like 21 year old boobs :)

So, a week since my surgery. One, you gain about 10lbs in Water weight from all the iv fluids they pump in ya, but you pee them out quickly.
Two, The pain from the hernia surgery far outweighs the pain from the sleeve surgery.
Three, Getting fluids in is rough, because it seems there isn't enough time in the day.
Four, ZERO Hunger, but every time a commercial for pizza or burgers comes on tv I want one.
Five, So far so good. Can't wait to get to soft foods in a week, because the Protein Shakes, Protein water, and yogurt is getting old.
Six, Down 10lbs since the day of the surgery Not including the 10lbs of fluids, 50lb mark overall. Not so bad yet.

Getting more and more used to the faja. Have it on the 2nd row of hooks.

It looks silly, but I decided to leave the crotch flap open and just wear a pair of panties over the faja. It’s more comfortable and feels more sanitary. Added bonus is that the faja gives me a tiny booty!
