GradyCat got a reaction from CurvyGirl23 in Surgery may 2nd
Congrats on getting your surgery date. That's a good time of year to have WLS. I happen to enjoy premade Protein Shakes, I use GNC Lean shakes, so it was relatively an easy two weeks for me.

GradyCat got a reaction from Crisscat in Carbonated drinks
Yes but I can only drink maybe 2 oz as they bloat me.

GradyCat got a reaction from SleeveToBypass2023 in Just ordered my shakes
The two weeks before and after WLS are challenging due to being liquid or limited. Good luck on your WLS journey.

GradyCat got a reaction from SleeveToBypass2023 in Utter regret
I'm glad you're reaching out here, but I'm going to steer you to a therapist/counselor. Please deal with those suicidal thoughts. Don't ignore them - - - deal with them.
Like others said, maybe your hormones are out of whack post-surgery. Did you go through a psych eval before WLS to make sure you had realistic expectations of both results as well as the recovery period? Go see that counselor and talk about these feelings you are having.
PLEASE GET HELP NOW!

LOL! And sometimes that feeling sticks around for several weeks (almost six so far, in my case).

GradyCat got a reaction from SleeveToBypass2023 in Weight loss starts when?
You have to keep in mind that you were filled with gas/air and fluids in the hospital and your body is wondering what the heck just happened to it. You're recovering. The weight is going to drop like a rock any day now. QUIT WEIGHING!

GradyCat got a reaction from SleeveToBypass2023 in Medicare
Medicare is my primary and I have a supplement. They approved my sleeve surgery without any issues.

GradyCat got a reaction from Arabesque in Not doing good
I'm sorry for the loss of you mother, Gigi. Weight-wise you've done GREAT! Be kind to yourself right now and don't focus on your weight. Try to follow the diet program as much as your grief will allow.

GNC soft chews are good in a variety of flavors for all the Vitamins we WLS patients need.

This is the first I've ever heard about sending a patient home with blood-clotting injection medication.

Here's some suggestions:
A rough guide for this method is:
Vegetables: Should take up half your plate Protein-rich foods: For meat, poultry, eggs, fish, legumes, Beans, tofu serve a quarter of your plate. Complex carbohydrates: Take a quarter of a plate of carbs, such as whole grains. High-fat foods: Including butter, cheese, and oil – take only half a tablespoon -

It was a simple small mistake. You'll be fine.

GradyCat got a reaction from Tomo in Tracking vs mindful/intuitive eating?
I've never been able to achieve "mindful" eating. I just can't grasp the concept.

GradyCat got a reaction from lizonaplane in Price of diet?
So there are many ways to look at this. One is that the food you will be eating may cost more but you'll be eating less food overall, therefore not increasing your grocery or food budget. Another way is that the cost of medicine and health vs the slightly increased cost of healthy food calculation, It's not a barrier, really.

Keep up the good work that the sleeve allows us to do.

GradyCat got a reaction from SleeveToBypass2023 in Question about hair loss after sleeve
I haven't lost any more hair or thinned hair more than it already was due to thyroid issues. I didn't have dry skin either post -WLS. I've tried everything: Biotin pills, Rogaine, Nioxin . . . none if it helped.

GradyCat got a reaction from Livgreen___ in Calories
There's nothing wrong with 1000 calories/day. The gherelin hormone from surgery was suppressed for the first little while, so you weren't hungry.
