Jeelena2019 got a reaction from KimA-GA in 3 Years Post Op
I hear you and I have also gained weight this year. I will be 4 years post-op from my sleeve in Dec. I have gained about 25 lbs and I am working on losing it. My stomach still has portion resistance, however I now have the hunger pains and want to graze. I am doing Water when that occurs and have upped my Protein and am eliminating all the processed foods and junk that has creeped into my life.

I am 3 years out, VGS Dec 2018, and have been maintaining my weight until last month and have gained 10 lbs. it’s not the exercise part that is an issue. It is definitely the less restriction related to food intake.Looking for support to get these 10 lbs off and keep them off.

Also the fear of not enough nutrients is unfounded as long as you take your Vitamins.

I had my surgery 12/10/2018 and I am at goal weight. Before surgery weight somewhere north of 320, (I would t weigh myself but the one time I did I saw the scale hovering at 32—- and I quickly stepped off) day of surgery 294 and today 164. I have went from a size 24 to size 8. I feel amazing. Pictures of me April 2018, September 2018 and September 2019. I have quite a bit of loose skin on my abdomen and inner thighs but I can live with it for now. I met with a plastic surgeon back in May and asked her what I could do to improve my overall body appearance and prepare for a Tummy Tuck and breast lift and she recommended pilates. I got a prescription from my primary care and my insurance covers most of the cost of pilates. I am addicted to pilates. I am slightly concerned I won’t be able to stop losing weight now that I met my goal. Does anyone else ever worry about losing too much weight?

I have no idea how you could gain 7 lbs in 6 days that’s a lot as one of the other posters said. I would go back to basics and drink your Water and have either small meals 3-4 ounces and/or liquids and see if that resets you. I doubt you stretched your sleeve out in 6 days. I am 9 months out too and still can not eat more than 3-4 ounces and have lost 135 lbs.

Coexister you can do it. I recommend tracking what you eat in an app like Fitness Pal or Better Human. When I feel like I am getting off track I stop and start making myself accountable. I try and always get my Protein in before I allow myself to eat anything else 60-80 grams and nothing by Water to drink. Try and remember and keep your end goal insight. I have some physics limitations too and I finally found an exercise that I enjoy and I can do—pilates. Try a new exercise—GET EXCITED! You can do it.

Ummyasmin I started doing Pilates and love it. I go to Club Pilates because I have found that using the Reformer table gives me the best workout and I love the fact the class sizes are small and they can give you a substitution move.

Jeelena2019 got a reaction from Beachyfe in Top Recommendation from VGS people 6mos out or more
I will be 7 months out 6/10. I have lost 110 lbs and feel fantastic. I recommend that you don’t buy a lot of Protein drinks in advance. Buy a few at a time. I taste tested ones pre-op then went out and bought several cases only to not be able to tolerate the taste post op. My taste buds have changed since surgery.

Buy a good digital food scale, I also use Fitness Pal to track my macros and my progress. Don’t eat or drink things ahead of when you should. Stick to the post op diet. My doctor said no carbonated drinks, no gum, no straws and I don’t cheat because I don’t ever want my sleeve to expand. It’s a tool that requires respect and to be used the way it was intended.

Eat slow and chew. If you feel like you are getting full don’t take that one extra bite.

I am so happy I had the sleeve, my energy level has increased 100 percent.

I am almost 7 months out and went in for a plastic surgery consult. I am going to need a Tummy Tuck and breast lift. I am down 105 lbs and 32 lbs from goal weight. The plastic surgeon recommends I lose an additional 10 lbs over the 32. I asked what else could I do to have the best outcome and she recommended pilates to time and strengthen my core. I went to my first pilates class yesterday and I think I am in love. Question. Has anyone been able to get a doctor order for pilates so their HSA will cover it? And if so what did the script or order say? My plan is to have my plastic surgery in December when I am a year out.

The incision my stomach was taken out of hasn’t hurt at all, actually none of my incisions have hurt at all. My surgeons protocol is Prilosec daily for the first six months then reassess.

I hear you I am full all the time too. I set a timer and make my self eat 5 very small meals a day about 1-1 1/2 oz. I can’t get 3-4 oz in at a time. The most Protein I have been able to consume is 40 grams. I mix unflavored protein in everything. I am down 32 lbs in 3 weeks. My eyes are bigger than my stomach for sure ....

You should meet with them. I'm having Dr. Stowers do my surgery. The staff has been great, very informative, and always available. There's so many Dr out there and I know it's hard to choose. For me I wanted a Dr that primarily performs weight loss surgery. Not sure if that matters but it was one of the criteria I used to help my decision. I'm linked to realself.com where I met someone who used Dr Stower also, and she had a great recovery and results. I've been on a 6mos diet with their nutrionist for insurance approval. Scheduled for April 25th. Good luck on your decision.
