I have several bone and joint issues some are rare and I really wanted to regain my health back.
I lived with these bone issues long before I had a weight problem
Having a chronic pain and  losing a career that I loved because of my bone and joint issues caused my anxiety,
depression and i stuffed my feelings with food verses dealing with them which led to more and more weight gain,
not the best thing when you already have bone and joint issues.
I had tried everything from PT to medication, and nothing worked, The  weight really piled on after 2 life changing events
1. The sudden death of my mother
2. A car accident that left me with a partially detracted shoulder muscle that required surgery and intense PT.
After 1 year off work I gained 65 lbs so I went from 130 to 195 lbs.
Instead of doing something about it I just stuffed my feelings
The weight now was the major issue causing me even more joint pain.
I continued to gain weight. By 2018 I was a very unhealthy 298 lbs. I did a lot of research and chose a gastric sleeve. I was afraid of the Bypass and the length of time I was told I would be on the operating table. So I chose the sleeve.
My doctors said I may not lose all the weight via  sleeve but I chose it anyway.
The surgery was a success I only had one complication, my IV backed up and til this day I have numbness in that hand.
I lost about 80 lbs the first 9 months then maybe another 10-15 over another 6 months
I was feeling great, I still do.
I never did get to that magic number, when covid shut everything down, i went back to old emotional eating habits and re-gaind about 25 lbs..
I am back on track and just am taking one day at a time and making sure I exercise and  eat right. Not perfect but healthy 90 percent of the time.
If you are struggling do not give up.
I am learning better habits now vs stuffing my emotions I am learning to deal with them.
I am grateful for the weight I did lose and know it was the right decision.
Wishing everyone good luck and great success
