The gas was AWFUL! When it finally started passing, it was wonderful and I thought if this is any indication of the rest of my journey, I'm totally game! 🙂

Consider also that some people are less than honest simply for reactions of others. I'd take what he's says with a grin of salt. Either way, he's got some unrecognized mental issues that will continue to plague him until he faces them. This just may not be his time, if ever. My surgeon just switched me this week from sleeve to bypass because my endoscopy results were a 4cm hiatal hernia and Grade 1 esophagitis. From what you're saying is your exam, you should not be a sleeve candidate, either. Your esophagitis has moved on to Barrett's esophagus which puts you at a greater risk.
