    Itchy Incisions

Mine were a little itchy too but I started putting coconut oil on and still use it every morning and night. Helped w/ the itch, the healing, and they are a lot less noticeable....

    Pickles!

I love pickles..I eat just a few here and there. The little tiny slices of dill pickles. I can't eat much yet anyway so a little goes a long way. But i do drink A LOT of water every day to flush the sodium and in general it's good for us. Keep eating pickles !

    Yup. I regret this.

wasn't that- just basically was a reaction. I had blurry vision BEFORE I removed them. THe nurses has no idea why but the bari coordnator told me to take it off immediately when i told her. She said it usually doesn't happen so fast- I was jus tlucky

    Yup. I regret this.

These made me lose my vision (during my hospital stay).....meaning, my vision went blurry within about 8 hours of having it on and I could hardly see and this lasted for another day or so after I took it off. It is a well known side effect so just be careful with these.

day 5- my bff since we are 12 No junk food- check!.....however there are fastnachts in the office and I am debating having a few bites of one. I know it won't help me to my goal though so I probably will skip it. Stay strong (talking to myself)!

    Preparing Your House

Honestly, I still have half the crap I purchased. (broth, jello, pudding, shakes)....that's really all I bought but I didn't use much of it. The broth I will use for cooking and the jello and pudding boxes are still there. The shakes I drink as needed but I am leaning towards protein water more these days. LIquid tylenol was the #1 thing I needed and I am glad I stocked up! I used that instead of the pain meds the doctor sent me home with and it worked great. I also second cleaning and organizing what you can.

I dont cook on Fridays either ! My family got pizza two Fridays ago and I almost killed them all a slow and painful death though. I am going out for a friends bday this week also. Just the two of us,....I told her to feel free and get a drink if she wants, it won't phase me. I thought I would miss drinking (wine enthusiast here) but I have zero desire right now, which is great. and Zoups is good!

You could try a low sugar spaghetti sauce- Rao's is so good but expensive. But you won't use much so maybe that would work for you. I cannot touch scrambled eggs....I mean i can eat them and then i feel like there is a rock in my gut for hours and I just feel gross. I tried hard boiled in my tuna and that was just as bad....so for now I'm done with eggs. I try veggies once or twice a week and it's usually about 2-3 bites. I don't have the patience to try new stuff every single day or even cook dinner for myself every night. So some nights I eat cottage cheese. I try to cook 5 nights a week in some combination of days plus I pack lunch every day for work. I went to my first restaurant this weekend- panera- and had broccoli cheese soup. OMG it was so good....ate about 1/2 of a cup. Tore up the bread to make myself feel like I was going to eat it when I knew there was 0 chance I was putting any of that in my mouth but it was still satisfying Good luck w/ the gym!

    Jan 2019 bypass buddies

Hi there! Glad to hear an update from you. I too have had some incidents w/ the foamies- ugh- mostly because I try something I am not ready for yet and cant digest it or I eat too fast or don't chew enough. I did have a sliver of steak and chewed it 1000 times and that went okay. But it was the smallest taste..... Last week I noticed I was eating too much Avocado mash and cheese and my fats were too high and then I saw my carbs creeping up too high and now I am at a stand still with losses. So back to basics- protein and maybe veggies if i can manage it. But around 2 ounces of any protein and I am full, which is frustrating but i guess normal. I had to add back in a shake/protein water too which sort of stinks. How are you handling eggs- I hate them. Every single time I eat egg I am completely nauseous. It doesn't matter if it's egg white or whole eggs and what consistency the egg is in. I will try them again in a month or so. So yeah, I think I am losing slowly...too slow but I am tweaking a few things and we will see how it goes. You are doing great with the gym also! for now I am just doing videos at home but I am doing it consistently and then in two months or so my husband and I are going to join a gym. We are both busy right now running our kids around so I will just use the convenience of videos until I have free time.

    Minimum time off from work?

I took one full week. I was tired but survived. I also took liquid Tylenol in the am and at mid day which helped.

    Vomiting Vitamins

I just tried this one yesterday but not the chewable and was nauseous and vomitted half the day-- empty stomach and all that iron I hope was the cause.. I ordered a few bottles and will try one later on in the day next time.

    Travel Question

I am 4 weeks post op...eating soft foods and drinking fine. By Soft I mean...yogurt, cottage cheese, ground meats, fish. I have tried recently - a few bites of chicken breast that was not dry- was fine ...a homemade cheeseburger (was also fine)- no bun of course and ate it for two meals and still tossed some. And I am to eat soft veggies but i dont have room for them most meals...I supplement with one protein shake IF i have not met my protein goals. I also eat string cheese and some other things per my plan. I haven't gone out to a restaurant yet but I could and feel comfortable if i had to right now. Just watch sugars, butters, etc....and customize things. That being said you have to check where you will be on your plan at 4.5 weeks..... I would be totally fine walking around at a park and the beach. I would likely be tired from the amusement park earlier than everyone else but I have no issues drinking water. I get around 100 ounces a day now- but would like to get a bit more. Check with your team but I think you will be fine as long as things are going well. Best of luck!

    ❤MARCH 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Ok I am going to give this a try- Not sure about the yoga though...have never been a fan of yoga- probably because I can't really do it Your goal for this challenge: keep losing weight- it's too soon to pick a number since I am only 30 days p/o right now; but i'd like to also start transitioning to more foods successfully this month... beginning weight: 278 status of surgery : post op/losing No junk food will be easy enough for this month at least. 1. Three words to describe myself: ambitious, strong-willed, witty

    Cold/ flu with bypass

My understanding is you can take regular ole mucinex as long as it is not extended release...along with being able to take sudafed, dimetap, robitussin and some other cough meds (if you can tolerate them ) and they are not extended release and any tylenol product BUT you shoudl really follow your drs advice Hope you feel better soon!

    procare multivitamin....

I think it’s too much iron for me. My sample was 45mg and I don’t need that much. Nausea seems to be easing up....after dry heaving for an hour. Ugh. ill keep taking my chewable one for a while before I try these again. When I do it will be with food and less iron!
  24. I tried my first of these today....I had one sample from my dietician once I am allowed to swallow pills and figured I would try it. Seemed fine, had breakfast and now all day so far i have nauseau. my first time since surgery with nauseau and I just want to hang my head down and blah - I don't know. Of course this is after I ordered three bottles of them because they are on sale and I had a coupon and since I have to pay shipping I figured why not get 3 months worth. Sigh.... Does anyone take these and take them in the evening? I was thinking once I get them if I try to take them at night maybe I wont get nauseau or maybe this is just a fluke.
