Louise is gonna Lose got a reaction from Bari_KS in December 2018 Sleevers!
Hi all, Just checking in. Yesterday was 11 months for me. I weighed in this morning at 121.6! Can you believe that my primary doctor is talking about me getting underweight! I feel like my legs are still pretty thick but it is all extra skin he said. My top half is really little at a size XS and bottoms are a size 0 or 2. I eat approximately 800 calories per day and exercise 2-3 days per week. I don't have up to date photos yet but the ones I am posting are from about 1 1/2 months ago and I am 5 pounds lighter now. I am 52 yo and feeling great.

You look great. I love how you and Bobby match! So I am 11 months out as of yesterday and my hunger has only slightly increased. I am still only at around 800 calories per day. I don't exercise a whole lot but my doctor thinks because my calories are still pretty low that's why I am maintaining so easily.

Yes it was a relatively low weight to start with but I am an extremely petite individual, not just in height. My bone structure is small and both my primary doctor and the surgeon felt it was a good option for me. My thighs are the biggest part on me and it was getting hard just to walk and the pain in my legs was keeping me up at night. Not to mention a whole lot of other ailments that many people at much higher weights experience. The doctors and I all knew that I would never lose the weight on my own. I was gaining in excess of 10 lbs a year and had gained 50 pounds from 2015 until 2018. So I decided to try to mitigate the weight gain. I can't tolerate the Protein Shakes, they make me sick and then I get too full and can't get in any regular food which the doctor would prefer I eat.

I had my sleeve surgery on 12/20/18 and I had many concerns with my fibromyalgia as well. For the first 2 weeks or so, I felt great. I take tramadol for pain daily and was able to cut my dose in half. I was walking daily and everything seemed to be okay. I was worried about getting exercise in because everyone said it was key to success so I went to the gym a few times. Mind you I did not work out prior to surgery because it always put me in a flare up. Well even though I exercised for sometimes only 15 minutes I hit a wall and have had a major flare up that has lasted for weeks. I am back on the full dose of my Tramadol and no longer feel "great". My pre surgery weight was 204.4. After pre-op diet I was 194.2 and am now 6 weeks out and am 180.4. Everyone is different so don't compare yourself to others. I have never found anything that relieves my pain in over 25 years so I had no expectations going in to this. Taking pills was never really a problem for me after surgery. While I couldn't eat much, the pills went down fine. As far as recovery I think I did just as well as anyone else. I still have problems getting in the amount of Protein, calories and Water so I think that is why I stay so low energy all the time but who knows it could be the fibromyalgia. This is not meant to be a negative post just a summary of my experience. Positive attitude is everything when you are healing from a surgery. You will do great and it just takes a little coordination to get your meal prep in.

Hi all, I hope you are all enjoying the ways that weight loss has impacted your lives. I know that I have much more energy, and I have become more outgoing. I am now a regular exerciser and miss it when I don't do it. I was sleeved December 20, 2018 and have lost 79 pounds and reached my goal of 125 lbs.

Hello December folks. I wanted to post some facts and get feedback. I was sleeved on Dec. 20, 2018. I have lost 40 lbs to date. I am 5'4". To this date I struggle to get in 700 calories a day. Until last week I was only getting in 600. I also really have trouble getting my Water in. Does anyone count Decaf coffee into their fluid goals? I have tried not to break the golden rule of comparing myself to others, but....I don't think I am doing as well as others. Now granted I started at a lower BMI than some so they say I will lose slower but I have only lost about 2 sizes on the bottom and 1 size on the top. I am a pear shape and I still have sooooo much fat on my thighs and arms. I still don't understand why a person who is much bigger than me can lose quicker. It just doesn't make sense to me. If I am at a deficit in calories I should lose weight, period. I find myself staying up late just to try to get my calorie goal in. Maybe that is the problem, that I am eating late. I do not eat any carbs except those that come from vegetables and Protein Shakes. I still need to drink at least one Protein Shake a day to get my Protein in. I have not had any fruit or grains or cheated with any junk food since day 1. Tomorrow is 16 weeks and I have been at a stall since last week. I go up and down 1 pound between 164 and 165. I exercise a couple days a week with just cardio for now. I am thankful that I have the restriction that I have. It is really hard for me to eat 2 oz of any protein source. I still prefer softer foods like eggs, tuna, etc. Any comments at all are appreciated.

I think you are among many who have only lost 6 lbs or less a month, myself included. I have only lost 14 lbs since my date of surgery. Don't worry!

I can relate to you my friend. I am six weeks out and have only lost 14 pounds since surgery. I find myself stressing about it and that is not a good thing. I started at 204.4 presurgery, 194.2 day of surgery and am at 180.4 now. I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks and I am surprised that in 4 weeks I only lost 14 pounds additional. I know there is a lot that I am doing wrong at this time like not enough Protein, Water and calories. But I am doing the best that I can and I know it will all come together. It simply does me no good to compare to those that lost 30 lbs in the first month or to beat myself up about my progress. So don't stress, just give it time.

I don't know when your surgery was but this has been a major problem for me since day 1. Thursday will be five weeks since surgery and I struggle every day with getting calories in. I have just now had a couple days of 600 calories and I generally feel sick from eating too much. My primary care doctor and my surgeon just keep saying give it time. One suggestion is to try to eat high calorie foods. If you can cook with olive oil or add it in some way or try refried Beans with cheese that will get your calories up. That was the advice my nutritionist gave me.

I get days like that also. I think it may have to do with low Protein and Water intake. You know some days I do great eating and some days I can't eat a thing. Be good to yourself today and give your body what it needs, maybe just some rest.

This water is real problem for me. When I'm not drinking a Protein Shake, I'm eating and trying to up my calories and it leaves very little time to drink all the water. It still makes me a little nauseous and I have tried adding all kinds of things to make it more appealing.

I'm really glad you asked that question because I'm 51 and wondered the same thing. I've already gone through menopause and that is one of the big reasons I put a lot of weight on. I figured it was going to be extra hard for my body to give up the weight.

I guess they did internal sutures, then the glue over it. I think the steri-strips were just additional. Anyway I saw the doctor this afternoon and he took the steri-strips off.

Hi all! I'm 3 days post op. In a way I thought I knew what to expect, and I guess, all things considered, I am right on track with recovery. First 2 days the gas pain was awful. Today eating 3 oz of Soup was catastrophic but the one thing that is bothering the most is the fact that I am allergic to adhesive tape and stwe I
strips were used over each incision. We discussed it prior but they said there weren't any other options. Anyhoo, it is burning my skin. I won't share the horror of a photo lol. If not for that i wouldn't even need pain pills.

Well woo hoo for getting it through insurance. Pre-op is going to probably tough but think of all of those that are going to gain through the holidays while you are losing! I start my pre-op diet tomorrow for Dec. 20th surgery.

Thank you KatFight. You have been very encouraging. I think positive thinking also really helps. With my other surgeries, I went into thinking that I would do really well and I was up and walking much quicker than some of the other people on my hospital floor who had the same surgery. I really appreciate your feedback from everyone on this topic.
