It's been forever since I've posted...

Thank you! Aside from my appearance and ability to fit into anything any store has, my confidence has increased tremendously!! I'm no long afraid to try and do new things. Before I was afraid my weight would hold me back, that I wouldn't fit or just plain was too heavy. For example wearing that bikini at the beach, granted, I was very uncomfortable, but I did it and eventually relaxed a bit. Even if someone didn't think I should be wearing it, I didn't have to hear their comments. I'm getting more comfortable in my own skin, despite the head problems and still feeling fat for gaining a few pounds. Sent from my LM-V600 using BariatricPal mobile app

  4. I'm 14 months post op. I reached my goal in March. It's been a journey of ups and downs, but not one that I regret. Well, actually, my only regret is not doing it sooner!! I have the support of my family and partner. My biggest struggle now is body image. After 47 years of being considered obese, it's not easy to think and see yourself differently. There are days that I can actually see myself as the new woman I am. Most days, I do not. When I see my reflection, I see the new me. However, as the scale shifts upward, even just a few pounds, 8 feel like I haven't lost an ounce and am the obese person I always was. I know deep down that isn't true. The funny thing about it, when I was loosing and hit that weight, I felt sexy and invigorated. Now, as I said, I feel and look fat. And I'm talking a gain of 10 lb or less. I FEEL & LOOK FAT to myself. We were on vacation last week and I needed a swimsuit. Not really living anywhere near stores to shop for a new one, I decided to get one at the beach. My fiance picked it out for me. I wanted a high waisted suit, he said if I was going to do that, I may as well get a 1 piece suit. I relented and he picked it out for me. Boy oh boy did I ever feel uncomfortable, but I wore it with all that virgin skin exposed!!! Almost there

Tomorrow I meet with my surgeon for my consult and find out when I'll have surgery. Probably the 2nd week of June is what I've been told. I have 3 more required appointments next month. Didn't think these 6 months would ever end!! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

  8. I've had them done 2x now and LOVE it! It's a very liberating experience. I was supposed to have them done next week and I decided to cancel once I found out I did qualify for wl surgery. I'll wait until after. Your husband will [emoji173] them and definitely not think you've lost it. With my previous 2 shoots I was single and did it for me. Unfortunately my boyfriend will have to wait for my next shoot! Lol, but I'm sure he won't mind waiting for pics of the new me! At for the cost... do Facebook searches, there are always photographers that offer specials when the do group shoots, several people one day at the same location. They are gone by the time it's your turn. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Any advice for newcomers?

Hello ladies! I'm very new, had my first official appointment last week this starting my 6 month pre-op journey. I have a couple of friends that have had the surgery that I've been asking any advice. Although I'm excited for this journey and ultimately the surgery, I'm a little apprehensive about it. Like it may not actually be a reality and I'm going to wake from this dream and it'll be psych! The jokes on me. My weight has been a struggle since puberty and I'm ready for that to end and start life as the woman I've always wanted to be. I know the next 6 months is a journey to learning how to eat properly and the lifestyle changes and reprogramming how to eat and nutrition. I've been told that if I lose 17lb, which can realistically happen in 6 months, that I will no longer qualify. Which is causing some issues for me... having to keep a food diary, make diet changes, eat properly, etc.. how do I all that and NOT lose 17lb ?!?!? I've already been told by a friend who's had the surgery to start biotin now to lessen hair loss post surgery. And to start experimenting with protein shakes and find something I like now so post OP I'll not have any problems. Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions! Will Biotin make my facial hair grow more?

That's a great question I never thought of! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Do you feel more attractive?

I've struggled with my weight since puberty and have always felt uncomfortable when receiving attention from attractive men. Even when I'd lose weight, I never felt comfortable. When people start to notice my weight loss, I tend to self sabotage and any progress stops. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
