I had zero symptoms before my surgery. And still have no acid reflux. I have read here, that a lot of people had a manometry study done before their surgery to see if their esophagus was functioning well enough to even have it done. I have done calcium blockers. Nitro under the tongue. Peppermint oil. Cough drops. Reglan. Pot. I just want the surgery. The poem surgery.

I was sleeved in sept 2018. From 180ish to 110 and still losing. I suffered. I told my doctor. And was told smaller bites. Go to the er. I did this. A couple weeks ago, I was finally diagnosed with jackhammer esophagus. Basically feels like like I’m having a heart attack when I eat or drink anything. To the point where I go to the er every other week when I need iv fluids. “I know when it’s time cause I start to pass out when I walk” my doctor at blossom said I just needed time to heal. After making a special trip to Vegas. “Made two special ones there to seek help” I live in Reno. The doctors at UCLA finally did a manomerty study and clear as day, my esophagus was struggling to push food down. And once it gets to my stomach, it takes a long time to go in. Does any one suffer? How many doctors did you see before it was found? Anything help you? I’ve just had Botox injections in my esophagus. Didn’t help. Talking about doing the potty surgery. I want my life back. I can’t work. I can hardly go to the store. Have to nap after. I can’t eat with my family at sushi like we used to. I can’t have cocktails at social events. I feel trapped.

It was blossom yes. So update on this whole problem. turned out being a spasm in my esophagus. After three different trips to the er. Two to three day stays every time, just to replenish my fluids. I smoked some some old pot I had laying around. “Let’s keep in mind I hate being stoned. But I also hate not being able to eat or drink.” i drank. Still a little pain. But that made the light go off that hey, lets go to the store, pick up some Vape pens of weed. “I live where it is legal” I was able to drink freely. I ate a whole bag of mini Funions! I was a wreck after smoking. But I’ll take that any day over the reglan and blood pressure meds. I felt like a test subject that was on all sorts of trial meds that would hurt me more than help. I woke up up and ate a little bit of this philly cheese steak I froze. I can’t tell you how incredibly freeing this is. I am sipping on a mango shake I write this, with a huge smile.

I was sleeved and had my hernia repair on sept 19. So im about 7 weeks out. Started at 180lbs. Now at 139. I was admitted to the hospital for dehydration. After an X-ray with barium showed my swallowing is normal. I was sent home. My surgeon is in Vegas. And I live in Reno. i feel like I can’t swallow. It is so painful. Even just water. I’m so thirsty. But simply can not get it down. When I do, I lay in pain for about an hour. As happy as I am with the results, I can’t live like this. Why does it hurt so bad? I did liquid diet. Tried to move to soft foods. And everything just hurts. I use gas x. Heartburn meds on occasion. Just to see if anything will help this feeling. Is anyone else struggling like me? What did you do? How long did it take for you?
