3.5 years out for me; and my stomach, like @Arabesque’s is still talking its head off all the time. Yesterday i went for a massage and it was going on and on for 90 mins. At first the masseuse was quiet about it, but then I could hear her giggling about 30 mins into it. People don’t normally hear it/react to it, but it was quiet in the room…it was hard to ignore. 🤷🏻♀️ She asked me if i wanted some fruit. 😂

I made this salad earlier this afternoon, (311 calories), but then decided i didn’t feel like eating it so put it back in the fridge. Then Mr. grilled up some steaks a couple hours later, so of course preferred to eat that instead, so the salad is gonna stay in the fridge for tomorrow! Rib-eye, roasted potatoes and sautéed portobello mushrooms: 402 calories for the plate/saucer. OmG the steak was so good, i gave it the all-Canadian try, but this is as far as I could get. I already know someone is going to eat it, so im gonna adjust the MFP entry for the steak later. THE (uneaten) SALAD: THE (partially eaten) STEAK: -
Going Out To Event 2 weeks Post-Op - should I cancel or play it by ear?
ms.sss replied to FarfelDiego's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not quite 2 weeks PO, but I went to an event at 3 weeks post op. It was about 5 hours long and i was just fine. Didn’t eat anything at the party, but that was expected (i brought protein powder with me to mix into my water). One week earlier (at 2 weeks), i was still taking naps though…but that may have been related to my complete lack of energy cuz I wasn’t really eating those first two weeks. -
I measured every Wednesday and it was one of my favourite pastimes back then, lol. And yeah, nobody noticed (or at least didn’t say so out loud) until I lost about 50-60 lbs. Which was fine because soon after that everyone and their mother would say something or other Every. Single. Time. for the next few months. Which got pretty annoying. Im 3.5 years out now, and me and my weight loss are now old news, thank goodness.

Calories per day - 2 months post op?
ms.sss replied to Flab-U-Less Forever's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yep, i agree (for me). I didn’t get to 1200 calories per day until about 3-4 months into maintenance (which translates to about 10-11 months post op) P.S. to keep things in perspective, I’m barely 5’2” -

I was told to try to get 1200/day in, but I was more like 400/day at 2 months -

So this was the breakfast i made for The Kid this morning. It looked (and smelled) so good that i had to swipe a triangle to eat. Now i am almost never hungry/cravey this early in the morning nor do i eat before noon, but man, toasted brioche bread is like what i think Perfection smells like, if it had a smell. French-style omelette on a slice of toasted brioche which shaved Parmesan. 1 triangle == 91 calories. Already in my tum digesting. -
So i thought about this and i think for about a year and a bit after weight loss phase, i would feel “fat” every single time i ate something….because you could see the food in my stomach cuz it literally pops out from the food. You could feel it too…my tum is hard/firm when there was food in it. My fam jokes that they can tell when last i ate by looking at my stomach. It aways went away after i digested. Now that i think about it, this may be a contributing reason why i ate very little back then? I dunno, just thinking. Anyway, im 3.5 yrs out now and it doesn’t bother me anymore, its been long enough now that I trust that bit of bloating eventually goes away.

First crack at my salad this AM. I had to tap out after eating most of the cut-up chicken pizza crust i threw on there. Man that stuff is filling. Will def eat the rest of this later and even warned (threatened? lol) the fam to keep their paws off it. 353 cals for the whole bowl. -
Nobody from the show. Her name was Christine. But while i was there, I actually didn’t recognize ANYONE from the show, which makes me suspect the on-air consultants are paid actors. Which is somehow a bit of a let-down!! Sweet. Now i NEED to see them paired with an outfit pretty-please.

Yep, Body Dismorphia. Take a pic of yourself now. Put it side-by-side with a pic of you in your heavier days. You may find yourself in surprise. While we may lie to ourselves, pictures won’t. P.S which is why i like to advocate taking pics of yourself before and regularly during. It helps to keep things in perspective. Good Luck! ❤️

At 3 months, Probably 3-5 fluid ounces at a time (approx 1/2 cup). Lower end it it was meat, higher end if it was yogurt or something “looser”. Now this amount was about the volume to eat that would satisfy as well as not feel any discomfort.

Im think I’m gonna have to agree with @Tony B - NJ here.

This is just another aspect of my Costco shopping problem: when I see a mob of people gathered around a product, I’m all, oooohh something must be good, i should get it too! Online orders. Brilliant. If I can’t see it, I can’t buy it! -

How many stalls have you had in your journey?
ms.sss replied to DaisyAndSunshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m 3.5 years out. Well first depends what you define as a stall. I went by the definition whereby: Stall = 7 consecutive days of no net weight loss AND no inch loss in that same period. By that definition, I didn’t have any. There was one week in month 3 when I thought i was going to record a stall, but I ended up losing less than 1 lb that week, and on “measurement day” (for me it was Wednesdays) i ended up recording like tiny fractions of inch loss in various areas. So technically, not a stall. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t semi-disappointed that week and that the familiar fear of regain didn’t rear its ugly head. And wondered, yikes! is this it? Stalls, excess skin and hair loss, the holy trinity of WLS fears. They happen to most more often than not, and become non issues at the same frequency. Stay in your calorie deficit and it’ll come of. You sound like you are taking it in stride though (vs panicking and suffering in angst)…so you are already ahead of the game ❤️ Good Luck! ❤️ -

It was a Costco shopping day and the Kid specifically asked for Costco Hot Dogs for dinner (which i concede to her opinion that it is actually THE best hot dog of all time). I had mine bun-less with ketchup, mustard, cheese and crispy fried onion topping. An an eye-widening 617 calories! Basically cleaned my plate (saucer) save half the hot dog, so im gonna adjust the entry to 432 cals later cuz i’m watching Mr. sneakily eat my leftovers in the kitchen as we speak. Like i can’t see you! Lololzzz. P.S. anyone else go to Costco and end up buying 5x more than you intended??? It happens to us Every. Single. Time. 🙄 -

Tonite’s dinner: chicken wings and fries. 326 calories. Ate all 3 wings and like 3 fries (the kid gobbled them up before i got to them 😡) -
Love this...(and the colour)! Lookin' good!

That gigantic yellow flower is AWESOME...only second to you in that dress though. I agree with Sophie, i love that colour. 😍

No, i wasn't "slender", i was regluar-to-overweight when I wore my original wedding dress from almost 20 yrs ago. See first link below....It's so funny because i went through ALL my wedding pictures just now and there is NOT ONE full body shot where I am NOT wearing that wrap or have a bouquet in front of me....I guess I must have already been conscious about my size at this weight...i'm guessing I was like 140-150 or something here, slightly overweight, but not obese...yet! The second link below is a a pic of me wearing said wedding dress I posted 3 years ago, about 4 months into maintenance.

Its been a while since I’ve posted any OOTD’s on here…part laziness, part no new real shopping done in months. So…looking to wake up this thread and bring it back to its former glory when it was a trending topic for months (remember that??) As it is, it remains one of my faves threads on here (this and the Food Before and After thread!) Sooooo… here we go: for those who know me, I LOVe to try on wedding dresses (been trying to convince Mr. to marry me again for forever, but that’s another story, lol). On a recent mini-vacay a couple weeks ago, i did just that at nowhere other than Klienfelds, NY of Say Yes to the Dress fame! And no, Randy was not there, hahahha. I tried on maybe 10-ish dresses, but this one was my fave. Price tag: $6500 USD if you’re wondering (and no, i didn’t buy it, nor do i plan to, it was just for funsies!!). Now your turn!!! I wanna see some clothes please!

GENERALLY SPEAKING (this is by no means a hard and fast rule though): it is usually in your head if: - you want something specific - the feeling of wanting to eat comes on quickly and intensely. - you still feel it even after eating something - it goes away or gets less intense when distracted. It is usually real hunger if: - you want anything (not something specific) - the feeling comes on slowly and grows more intense as time goes on - it lessens when you eat something
