Two-week postop tomorrow, even though I had surgery on 10/30 🤷‍♀️ I can’t wait for the ok to eat soft foods since my bday is on Saturday the 10th...fingers crossed 🤞 My surgery went pretty well, I mean since I’ve been home I didn’t need to use the pain killers and nausea meds they prescribed but unfortunately I got asthmatic bronchitis right after surgery and am also on steroids and antibiotics which delays the healing process but besides that I am doing great! What were the first soft foods you guys tried that wasn’t too heavy?

@recreating_courtney I too loved the premier shakes and when I tried them at the hospital I almost threw up. I think it was the lactose or maybe too much protein 🤔 I am now drinking the Unjury ones and loved them with almond milk

I am on the liquid stage and although the doctor told me to drink 4oz per hour I can actually do 6-8oz and when I asked him if it was ok this morning he said “if it doesn’t hurt or give you nausea, you’re fine”. So I’m drinking 6-8oz of water or protein shakes per hour and am fine, no pain or nausea.

Thank you!! Just made it and it’s delicious Very good right? I am thinking that for Thanksgiving since everyone would love it! I can't wait for next stage food and be able to eat eggs and cottage cheese though

I do get a sharp pain right around the diaphragm and beginning of stomach every time I take big sips. It feels like a knot but it goes away fairly quickly. I usually get 4-8 oz of water every hour or so and also drink 3 protein shakes which equals the 60 grams of protein I need. I end up with 64-80 oz of fluids everyday and that's good for me. Whenever I feel eating a little something, I have a sugar free 15-calorie popsicle or jello and it does the trick.

So yesterday I tried a fat free sugar free vanilla pudding and in a matter of 10 minutes I had the worst BM ever! I was glad because I hadn't had a BM for 7 days but till this morning I still had bad diarrhea and am wondering if any of you had the same issue with puddings or jello.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I should put the ointment or not but didn't put it. The hole is almost completely shut so I guess I'm ok.

I haven't had crazy cravings but would love to have some more variety in my menu. Like some salty stuff. I am going to make a Ricota bake as soon as my doctor gives the ok hahaha.

I too was sleeved on 10/30 and went to bed last night at the sounds of my stomach hahaha. I had a protein shake this morning and now I am feeling hungry. I think the sounds should stop once we reach the puree or solid food stage where we can eat more.

My surgery went well, but I started coughing on the 1st day and by the afternoon my oxygen level was down to 79% and my lungs had a lot of wheezing. I stayed 3 days on oxygen, doing nebulization every 4 hours and my Oxygen was at 83% they were very concerned I had pneumonia or something worse, I got 5 x-rays negative for that so the pulmonologist thinks I have asthma that was never diagnosed. They discharged me with the condition of seeing me Monday to check my oxygen level and do some more tests to figure it out what's going on. I didn't have nausea or much pain, I didn't even use painkillers there and was walking 5 times a day totally independent if it weren't for the respiratory issue. Much better being at home with hubby and kids and although I still having a lot of wheezing I am doing way better.

Thanks! This is exactly what I am doing although there was very little like a drop of discharge on the bandage this morning kind of light yellow that's why I got worried.

Got my surgery done on 10/30, had some complications but was discharged yesterday 11/02. Do you guys put some antibacterial ointment on the drain incision? Also, do you take off the bandage before showering and put it a new one after?
