    Alcohol

Ohhh, I've never tried that combo before! Thanks for the tip

    Alcohol

I live in Vegas and, girl, I get it. I had my first sip of alcohol 6 weeks out and was fine. I drink Jameson on the rocks with a lime every now and again. I'll have one "shot" (sipping, not shooting LOL) and sip on that for a few hours. Usually that's all I'll need in a night. Saves on the bar tab and empty calories. Not a huge drinker, but we just vacationed in Ireland and was worried I'd miss out on all the distilleries! I was totally fine (that was 3 months out). The posts above are right, your sensitivity/tolerance will be much different than before. Just take it really slow, you should be fine. Martini's or straight up liquor would probably be your best bet. Try to avoid bubbles and especially sugary drinks like daquaris at all costs! Best of luck and enjoy your trip!
  5. After work, I run errands/clean and try to get in 6000 to 10000 steps per day. Just from cleaning my house and running errands and taking the dogs out, I get my exercise in. I did just buy a treadmill that's getting delivered soon, so we'll see how that affects the weight loss. I drink lots of iced tea with lemon and Sweet'n'Low and water, and I like to add liquid IV to some of my water bottles throughout the day (google that one if you have a hard time getting your liquids in). I eat lots of protein (even chicken strips from fast food places) but mainly just meat and vegetarian meat substitutes JUST protein. (I've of course cheated on occasion and had some fries). Once I could stop doing the shakes, I stopped them pretty quickly. I hate them and they make me sick...every single one I've tried turns my stomach sour before and after surgery. Also lots of riced cauliflower, you can make that stuff into anything! I do also fast intermittently. A lot of people don't recommend it, but it works for me. I will go 24 hours on liquids alone and have found that when I feel like I'm staling for a few days it kicks my body back into gear. I started doing that around the 3 month mark and it helped me a lot. Fasting isn't for everyone, but my doctor was cool with it and saw the results and said as long as I take my vitamins and keep my liquid intake up, I'm fine to do it when I feel like it.
  6. Hey everybody! I wanted to post in celebration of hitting my weight loss goal just shy of my 6 month mark (5 months and 26 days). I am now 175lbs! I was as thin as a rail in high school and weighed 155 consistently all 4 years. I never thought I'd be this close to my high school weight so quickly. My new goal (which I never thought was possible) is to hit 155 and be done, for my height, I don't want to weigh any less and I don't want to lose my curves. It can be done. Use this tool to change your life and your health! Don't get discouraged or beat yourself up. You can do it. If I can do it, you can do it!!!! I work from home and have led a very sedentary life, just walking and taking the stairs instead of an elevator, parking far across the parking lot at Target...it all adds up and helps! I went from 3-4x Top and bottoms (size 24) to an XL top and L bottoms (size 12) and bra size 42F to 36DDD. I hope if anyone reading this and feels discouraged or has any questions, you can reach out to me and I'm happy to help in any way I can...even if it's just talking it out. I wish everyone nothing but the best and hope you're all happy and healthy!!!
  7. You know our bodies go at their own pace and you're doing fantastic!!! Thank you, I'm glad it's working for you. Slow and steady wins the race, they say! Proud of you girl, keep it going!!! ❤️

    Hanging skin

I do have loose and sagging skin in certain areas. I gained my weight really fast (100lbs) in a year so I was covered in stretch marks from my knees to my armpits lol. So that skin hasn't recovered as well as other areas. My breasts have lost most of their volume. My belly is sort of apron like and my inner thighs sag. My arms came right back. But here's the thing: I lost the genetic lottery when it comes to skin. I scar from even the littlest scratch. I knew this was going to happen. Everyone is different and you may be one of the lucky ones who snaps back into place. But I tell you a little sagging skin is well worth it! I can DM pics if you're worried Dont stress! 12. Happy surgiversary!!! You're almost at that first goal girl. You'll hit it before you know it! I'm 5'9.5" not quite 5'10" lol for my height 165 is in the "healthy" range. So if I hit that, I'll be soooo excited! Ultimately just walking has been my exercise. I try to get 6 to 10k steps a day. I just bought a treadmill so I can walk more. I work from home and hubby and I share a car. So I don't leave the house much. If I can get back to my H.S. weight of 155 I'd die. 20lbs more just doesn't seem that hard anymore...ya know? We can twin it up!! Lol!!! Please keep me posted on how you're doing!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  14. WOW! Thank you so much for the advice and support. It's helpful to hear long term success stories. There is always that back-of-you-mind fear of gaining again. I've worked so hard to get here, I can never let myself get back to the way I was. I'm committed to this being a life-long change. Food ultimately NEVER made me happy. Being healthy and buying "normal" size clothing makes me really happy! You're an inspiration, thank you for taking the time to share with me!
  15. Thank you so much, you got this girl!!! Keep to your program and you will do AMAZING!
  16. Thank you so much! I'm very happy, yes, seeing it more in my clothes and noticing my pants, etc. are getting too big. I'm getting lots of comments from friends and family who haven't seen me in a while. I was really thin all my life and I still don't feel "skinny". I'm healthier which is what I wanted more than anything. I'm gonna work slowly and see how close I can get to 155, but I am ecstatic. I really didn't think it would happen so fast. 6 months really has flown by. You look amazing, may I ask how you've managed to maintain for 5 years (YOU GO GIRL!!!) and how your pouch has changed...is your intake much more or are you still only able to eat small portions?
  17. Thank you so much! Congratulations to you as well! I can tell you for me it was TOTALLY worth it! Here for you if you have any questions ❤️
  18. Don't you worry at all. Stalls are part of this journey. I went nearly a month without losing or gaining a pound. It was beyond frustrating. Your body is in total shock, and it can take some time for it to snap back into losing. When that scale stops, start measuring your tummy, thighs, neck, etc. I always felt like I looked thinner during my stalls...I was losing inches but not LB's! It's a real thing, I promise! LOL You will be fine and you will get to start enjoying more "normal" food again, yay!!!!
  19. It gets better, I promise! I'm glad you're feeling better...you got this!
  20. I only took 3 days off, but I work from home. I also dont have the luxury of sick time and was saving all of my PTO on a vacation. I feel like after 2 weeks I would've been more prepared to work. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  22. My weight on the day of surgery was 264. I lost nearly 30lbs on the 2 week liquid preop diet my doctor had me do to shrink my liver. So since surgery I have lost 89lbs you go girl!!! You can do it, whatever makes you happiest, I lose inches when the scale isn't moving...how are you feeling 3 weeks out? I felt like the first 2 weeks were the hardest. 23. Thank you so much, so are you!!! ❤️
  24. For sure! I get it girl, all the sudden I have deflated balloons on my chest. The stretch marks pop out WAY more and the skin is more crepe-y. Let me know if you find anything else in the meantime and what you come up with
  25. So I've lost a lot of weight and have loose skin and my chest is not as full as it once was. I've lost volume at the top. I did some research on procedures and came across the "vampire breast lift". Looks like a cool alternative to a breast lift and/or implants for the short term. Just wondering if anyone has done it or knows anyone who has done it and your thoughts! Love and happiness in your weight loss journeys!
