MSTieMom got a reaction from LaNueva_Janie in Mouth Noises
Yes... I’ve had it since I was 10 or so. It’s one of those things that I don’t tell people about because it’s too hard to explain and makes me sound either crazy or like a total bitch or both.

It’s hard. It effects relationships. It makes it hard to be out in public.

A specialist about 10 years ago recommended and fitted me for this thing that looks like a hearing aid but is actually a small white noise maker. It helped but eventually broke and was too costly to replace.

So now my life is surrounded by fans ... as in white noise fans, not adoring fans. In a pinch (like in public near a gum chewer that I can’t escape) I slip in ear plugs.

It’s horrible to live with and I pray for relief . So far there has been no miracle healing, but I find ways to cope. Triggers can lead to a serious fight or flight respond - anxiety and repulsion that are unbearable until you can get away from the source. You learn to get creative in avoiding triggers or at least masking them as much as possible.

Yes it’s neurological in nature, but there are some audiologists that help people that suffer with this.

Good luck and I’m sorry to hear so many people have this.

MSTieMom got a reaction from Zebby67 in Frustrated
I can relate .... when I was first sleeved I felt similar. I didn’t realize how much joy I took in eating until I was forced to just have Protein Shakes. I does get better, especially as your diet advances. You will once again find pleasure in food (healthier food and smaller portions ... but variety helps tremendously!)

Of course finding joy and pleasure in things other than food is important to establish as well ... but I just wanted to echo with others that I can relate and it definitely gets better. Hang in there!

MSTieMom reacted to Twism44 in Under 400LBS for the first time in over 7 years!!!
    I started this journey @ 470lbs. I'm 8 1/2 weeks post op and today I weighed in at 399lbs!

This word is for all the pre-op/recent surgery folks. Stick with it...Follow the steps. It's more than worth it.
Good luck and God bless us all on this journey!

MSTieMom got a reaction from ummyasmin in Wedding rings - what to do?
First, awesome job on a NSV!

Second, you can get a ring spacer for about $5. Little clear silicone thing that wraps around the band (on the palm side where it isn’t noticeable. They sell them on Amazon and elsewhere.

But for a quick fix if you don’t like having rings on your middle finger is to try switching it over to your right hand. If you are right handed you might find your right hand is slightly larger and the rings might fit better there.

MSTieMom got a reaction from deltagirl93 in Just had revision from Sleeve to SIPS
Thanks for sharing your numbers, deltagirl - you are doing great!! It’s good to see how other revisions to SIPS are doing. I’m now 3 weeks out from a sleeve to sips revision and about 9 or 10 lbs down. I’m very happy with this start, although I’m sure it will slow down. I need to add exercise - as you have wisely incorporated ... I’ve just been to lazy. ;)
