I see fast and slow weight loss with each type of surgery. Many factors, age, sex, medical issues, hormones, medication and complications.
60% of your excess weight is the average weight loss with the sleeve. Whatever procedure you choose, try not to get caught up in how fast you lose. Even if you are a slower loser, you will still lose weight. Also, don’t compare your weight loss with the rates of others. It will make you crazy.
Have I noticed weight loss can be slow with the sleeve?
My weight loss was fast with the sleeve. I got to my goal of 140 in six months. I’m four and a half years out and maintain in the 130’s

People lose weight very differently it all comes down to how much work are you willing to put on in my case I followed my Dr order without breaking any rules went to the gym did everything I could and at 6 month post op I lost 92 pounds I started this journey at 300 pounds I’m 18 days shy of my 1 year anniversary and I’m weighing 170 pounds I’m healthy I keep watching what I eat and I keep exercising 6 days a week
that said don’t fixate on what people lost and the time they lost it in do the works and you’ll see the results in no time

I just had my Surgery 1/21/19. I had all the anxiety etc.... It went fine. No complications, no nausea or vomiting. I am 17 days out and down 24 pounds. I am on Cottage cheese, eggs, Thin Deli meat, soft cheese and am having no problems. I was 293 Lbs the night before surgery. This morning 2/7/19 I was 269. I feel great. You will do fine. Just stick with the Dr's program. Don't deviate. Good Luck!!!

Excited for a new me reacted to RinRin in I was sleeved on Wednesday
That’s good! I wasn’t in pain after a few days (unless I accidentally used my abdominal muscles when trying to get out of bed or off the couch) and for the most part didn’t have any nausea (until I started getting a sinus infection and not eating/drinking enough).
I was very tired and napped/slept a lot for the first two weeks.
Keep on top of fluids and your diet and you’ll feel better every day!

Excited for a new me reacted to AggiG in How much weight loss in the first couple weeks?
It's not a race, it's a marathon. It's not how fast it comes off but that you are losing the weight. Don't be in a hurry. The slower you lose the better you will be able to keep it off. Exercise when you are up to it. Walking helps a lot. Hang in there, you've got this. 💖💖

Follow the liquid diet plan your drs have given you. I'm so happy I did. I had my surgery yesterday with no complications. It only took an hr and half. I'm extremely sore but I'm doing great. I will be released today. My dr was so pleased with how far I've come and in my recovery. My throat is sore so I've had popcicles and ice cold Water. That helps so much. I had some discomfort with heart burn in my chest and grogginess from anesthesia. I'm still pretty high from the pain killers they have given me so I hope this helps and makes sense lol Good luck guys! I'm in the biggest loser club!!

Excited for a new me reacted to Liz The New Me in 150 days 55 down Happy Birthday to me!
WOW! So tomorrow is my Birthday. I don't think I have ever really been this excited for it. So much so that I'm having a Valentine's Couple's Date night at my house. Found some awesome outfits that I don't know which to wear. One that has been in my closet for about 20 years yes I said 20. That's how much I love it and could never get rid of it or ever fit me till now. What a journey the last 5 months have been. If it was not for an old friend that I lost touch with had not posted a picture of herself I would have never had known about this WLS. I have been going to many doctor's for years with no outcome. I fired the last one when I mentioned this and told me it will not work. But had no problem keeping me on the road to becoming a diabetic. It is hard work not for the weak at heart. Always keep think of where you want to be at the finish line. I have bad days and fall off the wagon but start again the next day to be better. You start to notice the little things you did when you where younger that you have not done in years. I'm starting to like to exercise..(a little) maybe because it does not hurt as much or not as embarrassed to be seen to be that fat. I'm still working a been more committed to it. Because the weight lost is slowing down the closer I get to my goal. I started as a size 20, now I'm looking at 12-14. There so much to choose from now in only 5 months. Happy Valentine's Day to all!! Big Hug and Kisses! Happy Birthday to myself the best gift I have ever giving to me.

  24. Congrats!

Excited for a new me reacted to Formygirls2019 in So, first post-op visit ONLY 8lbs down..... 32 lbs total isn’t that bad
So, stepping on the scale I was excited to think that I may have loss at least 10lbs. But as the story of my previous weight loss efforts, great try and effort but still short. It’s been 2 weeks - no complications, getting all my Protein and liquids. .... So, 8 lbs sucks, but it’s better than gaining weight. So, I recommit to 64 oz of Water (not counting protein shakes); hitting my protein mark, kicking the walking into high gear.
Can’t wait to see what my three month visit has in store for me !!
