  1. I had my surgery in December 2021. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I do feel hungry about every 4 hours. I eat what I want, just a lot less of it. I feel content and I'm never starving myself anymore. When we go out to dinner, I order what I want and take most of it home with me. It only took me about 1-2 month after surgery to eat normal foods or mostly normal, (not liquid). I feel very fortunate to have gone through this and better myself. Good luck at whatever you chose.
  2. My surgery twin. I'm so happy for you! Congratulations! You have done so well!
  3. How are all of the December 2021 surgeries doing? It's the best thing I've ever done for myself. Wish I would have done this a long time ago. I've lost 32 lbs. It's still coming off slowly but again, that's ok.

Hello! Yes, it happened to me a couple weeks after sleeve surgery but it has stopped. I do take Nexium every other day or so. Hope this helps.

    Weight loss after surgery

I feel the same. Started 12/6 pre op diet, sleeved 12/22, down 28 lbs. total. I'm older so I'm really OK with it, Just thought it would be more my now. Good luck to you.

    Dreaded hair loss - question

Sleeved 12/22 and don't have hair loss (I'm older as well). Good luck.
  7. Hello! I'm 6 week post op. I eat and drink most things I did before surgery and have never had a major problem. I was told to wait a couple months before I eat carrots and lettuce. I hiccup when I get too full as well. I have never "dumped". I usually can only eat 1/2 cup of food. Good luck to you.
  8. Sleeved Dec. 22nd and have only lost 15 lbs. a little disappointed. However, since I’m older it’s ok as I don’t want to have skin surgery. Having some difficulty getting all my protein in, those drinks are expensive. Good to hear from you. Good luck everyone.
  9. I didn't notice a funny taste but still have difficulty drinking my water. Before surgery, I drank it all day long. I just don't like it or want it.
  10. 3 days post op. I feel nauseated and week most of the time. I don't want to drink or eat anything, I feel I want to throw up. When did you start feeling better?

    Old as Dirt

You are too funny! My surgery was 12/22/21 and I'm 60. The hospital said they get a lot of older people. I did very well. No pain, left the hospital early, the next day. Everything is going great. The only thing I would say about being older is that I've lost a lot less weight than the younger people. I've only lost 20 lbs since pre op diet which was started Dec. 9th. Good luck to you.

    Gout Flare-up, time-frame, and remedies

Sleeved 12/22. I swear last week I told my husband I think I have gout. He looked at me weird and I shrugged it off. My big toe was hurting but not a lot. I did a IV vitamin drip on Monday so maybe that helped because my toe doesn't hurt anymore. Hope you feel better soon. Oh one more thing, my husband gets it all of the time and he takes Tart Cherry.
  13. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and everything goes down almost too well. I'm on soft foods until 6 weeks out and then I can try everything. Sushi and sashimi went down well even though I could only have 2-3 pieces. I chew and chew everything I eat.
  14. I was sleeved 12/22. My doctor said "if you can smash it with a fork, you can eat it", which gives me many more choices. I'm still drinking my protein shakes and having a meal each day which is about 1/2 cup of food. I don't understand how so many doctor's have difference bariatric directions. I'm sticking to the plan, not eating much and having very slow weight loss, compared to everyone else. Then I think to myself, I've never lost 17 lbs. in less than a month before which brings me to a happy dance.
  15. I was told that I was to stay for 2 nights. I stayed for only 1. My IV machine wouldn't stop going off, I couldn't sleep. Plus I was feeling good. So my doctor let me go home. My worst post op day was day 3.
  16. Congrats! Thank you for sharing. Day 6 post op and I'm doing much better. Still on liquids and can't wait to eat some mushy food soon.
  17. I'm the same. However, I cannot drink that chicken broth, taste gross to me. I feel like I'm starving to death. I get my protein, walking and 64 oz. in each day. Glad you're doing good.
  18. Good luck to you. Please keep up updated.
  19. Me too. How are you doing? Day 3 was the worse.
  20. I'm actually having a hard time. Not with the pain but with nausea and headaches. I'm thinking, what did I do to myself. I'm sure it will all be good later. Thanks for asking. How are you doing?
  21. Yes I have the meds but they don’t work very well on me. I’ve been having headaches which makes it worse. Thanks for the advice.
  22. I'm 3 days post op. I feel nauseated most of the time and lots of gurgling in my stomach. I hope this gets better soon.
  23. I had it done on the 22nd and home on 23rd. I get nauseous as well still on clear liquid until tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon.
  24. Thanks for the advice. Who was your surgeon? Mine is Dr. Domkowski. I go in tomorrow at 8:30. A little scared.
