    Hit my 1/2 way mark!!

    I have finally hit my halfway point!! 70 pounds down in a little under 10 months:success1: It has been a wild ride. Ups and downs for sure. But when I look back at how I have changed, I can hardly recognize myself. I can't wait for the rest of the journey begin. Thanks for listening :thumbup:

  8. did you domain search for: 1lapcon.com lap-con.com lapcon.org lbcon.com agbcon.com (adjustable gastric band) also.. just a thought but 'con' anything comes across as IT. Are there other naming conventions for large national gatherings? and yes I would go if: 1) There were a lot of vendors of different kinds.. I am weird though, I like to go to supernatural festivals or psychic festivals so I won't even begin to suggest vendors – LOL 2) And it wasn’t over the top expensive

    mom of 4 - are you going on liquids for 24-48 hours after getting stuck? At my doctor's office they make you do that if your food comes back up b/c of the swelling. I thought my doc's office was full of crap when they told me to do that but after having a few problems and then implementing their recommendation I have found that my 'getting stuck' happens far less (maybe because things are allowed to completely unswell etc.) FYI - chips, popcorn are known as slider foods in some publications for lapbanders. So with what you posted you are probably swollen and overfilled..which sucks.

  12. Hon, you should wait. Pregnancy is HELL on most people's bods. Don't waste your one time shot. Plus this way you can totally enjoy being prego and er, fat :thumbdown: knowing a nip tuck is around the corner. Don't even get me started on the whole boob thing..'spose this is what we do for our 'lil angels :blushing: (mine is 12 I had him when I was young, I am 35)
  13. Emotional eating can also be reduced when your brain has a satiated content feeling - this occurs when you band pressed on the stomach nerves to trigger those sensations. So if you an emotional eater, you needed to well on your way to fills before now. Be your own advocate, get confident and call your doctor and get an appointment. Don't take no for an answer -- they work for you!

    Stretched Pouch and unfill?

    I had a complete unfill and I don't wish that on anyone. I am in the middle of trying to get back to were I was b4. I think there is some mumbo jumbo going on with how nurses decide what level of cc you have (read my fill journey blog - the last 2 posts) When I was unfilled and getting my saline back they would not put me back were I was before.... So I gained wt (not according to their charts but on my scale I gained 6 pounds). So the only thing I can think of as far as kick starting the wt loss is how our bodies might start loosing again after eating so many more calories until you get your restriction back. At least I hope so!!!! I want to get to my half way point!! :drool:

    "the lap band is only a tool" tell me how!!!

    My experience: Pre-band hunger is WAY worse, more frequent, more intense, more distracting etc. Post band and with fills, the hungry feeling is down 75%, happens less frequently and is far less intense. (The only thing I can compare it to is diet pills..without the pills and jidders) When I am properly filled, after a small amount of food I am satiated and I don't want to eat too much more b/c it will hurt or come back up. So it is not worth it.. which takes me to #3.. My relationship with food is so different now. Which for me is weird after it being the number 1 focus of my life before (not just out of urges but because being so big meant frequent meals to just sustain myself)

    Swollen ankles

    When I was in my early 20's and had my son I suffered from Toxemia---and had severe edema. Ever since then I have suffered swollen ankles.. here are some tips. 1) If you are really overweight and you suffer from this, your cells and skin 'stretch out' -- it is like they 'remember'. So the edema will come and go. 2) Taking a water (prescription level) can help 3) Get your cholesterol and BP checked as it can be a sign of heart disease. 4) You may have to sleep with your legs elevated (above your heart) when your ankles are really bad. 5) Keep the salt low, drink a lot of water (clear pee is good) 6) As you lose large amounts of wt, your edema will improve and your skin and cells will shrink. Other than that..it just plain sucks.

    I get a lot of protein.. But I research and look really hard to find products that have it. Plus I am only filled 5.0/10cc band so that might make a difference. Sample Day (points/protein are approximate) 8oz coffee (0pts) Apple (1-2pts) lite string cheese (1-2pt)(6g protein) Ostri-pepperoni stick (1-2pt) (13g protein) Bullet - 2pts (25g protein) Healthy Choice Wiskey Beef Entree (5pts) (18g protein) Green Beans 1/2 cup - (0pts)(1g protein) Raw Carrots 1 cup - (1pt) WW ice cream cup (2pts)(5g protein) Garden Vege Medley (2pts) (4g protein) Grilled Chicken Breast (3pts)(25-ish g of protein) And I still have more pts for the day..
