    Sugar free goodies

CVS (and I'm sure other places) sell sugar-free york peppermint patties that I've found are perfect. The serving size is 3, but if you only have 1 it's fine.
  2. I still don't put deodorant ON the incision line and it's been 6 weeks. I put deodorant all around it. I also JUST shaved on the incision line for the first time last night. I was just doing my lower armpit and had a few long stragglers around the scar line. I put some deodorant on a few days post-op and it burned so I just avoid that area for now.
  3. Patience. I had a 2.5 month stall 3 months out. Then it started up again. I don't believe in any magic dietary change to restart weight loss during a stall. It'll happen if you stick to the plan.

    Newby with lots of questions!

My surgery was approved by my insurance within 3 business days. My BMI was 50, though. I didn't have many medical issues either. Extremely mild sleep apnea that did not require a CPAP... that was it. I have BCBS.
  5. I like how flat my stomach is, but I am really upset as to how prominent my stretch marks are. They aren't any more prominent than they were prior because I had really really thick stretch marks ever since I was a kid, basically, and they all got pulled down from the TT. I was hoping they'd all be cut away, but that is impossible. Eh. Vanity. All the ones below the belly button are gone, but all the ones from up high got stretched down.
  6. Girl. I am stealing your leg pic to show my surgeon as to what I want mine to look like next year when he does my excess skin removal. LOL.

    Weight loss stats!

I don't know my month to month, but in the first 2 months I lost 60lbs. By month 4 I had lost 80lbs. And by month 10 I had lost 146lbs. Now at month 13 I have lost 166lbs.
  8. I assume so. The bariatric office said it just happens to some bariatric patients. The surgery messes with your autonomic nervous system and your body just forgets how to properly regulate blood pressure. I developed it 4 months post-op. They don't know if it will ever resolve itself or not.

The "low-carb" pastas I've seen in grocery stores never actually seem to be low carb. Very weird. I haven't seen Zeroodles in store - I get them off Amazon. The shiratake stuff weirds me out since it's m o i s t. lolol. Ugh yeah, I know. I'm going to finish what I have an put it on the BAN list.

The bread I usually eat is actually pumpernickel or thin rye so it's already under 20g of carbs. It's not the carb count I am concerned with since I am still at where my dietitian says I should be... it just... takes up space in my stomach and now I am eating like NO protein. There is no happy medium! lol. I think I just need it to be a treat if I go to a restaurant or something. I never used to eat toast pre-op but now I am droollllinggg thinking about it. Have you tried lentil pasta? I get sick from regular pasta, but I buy lentil fettuccine Zeroodles and it is really good and super filling. Nom nom.
  12. I ate a shortbread cookie, Ferrero Rocher, and a cordial cherry last week at our xmas work potluck. I puked, sweat, and sat on the bathroom floor for an hour. That's the only cheat I've had. And I suffered for it. lol. Oh, and I did have boneless wings about 2 months ago and those made me sick... too much breading on them.

I am not in weight-loss mode anymore. I've long reached my goal weight so.. no concern about a stall. Even with 4 slices of bread I'm only at about 100g of carbs a day, which is what my dietitian says I should be at. But I shouldn't eat ONLY bread.
  14. I take the highest dose three times per day (sometimes less if I am doing alright). The only side effects I had was really strong tingling sensation in my head that would last for like half an hour to an hour after taking it. (Like my head fell asleep like a limb, lol). I've been on it for months now - that sensation still happens occasionally but not as severe. That med has literally been a life saver because I black out constantly if I don't take it. When I first wake up I stumble with totally black vision to the door way and then have to hang onto it for a few moments. Sometimes when I get up from the sofa my legs get weak and I have to sit down on the floor. Without this med, my life would suck. lol.

Don’t know how to take it

    Doesn't sound surgery-related (?)
  16. No one mentioned food to me. I was told to use scar tape (which I am allergic to) or Silagen scar cream. BUT, I don't care about my scars so I am not using anything or worrying about it, other than making sure the scar tissue is stretched out through my weight lifting. My spin class instructor also recommended Bio Oil, but the main ingredients are Calendula and Vitamin E (and a few other extracts) and I already use Vitamin E and Calendula daily to help with healing. I notice I get a few crusty spots occasionally so I'm still using the calendula ointment.

    Scar Tape or Cream?

Turned out I am allergic to silicone tape so I am not even bothering. I still apply calendula cream in the a.m. and Vitamin E gel at night for the hell of it. The scars don't bother me much.

to implant or not to implant

Mind you, you can't tell when I am in a bra. The only time you can tell when I am clothed is if you see my cleavage... there may be an extra wrinkle there. My friend is like... don't even worry about them because you don't walk around on your knuckles like an orangutan so they don't dangle and anyone who sees you naked should appreciate you. Maybe her advice is best.

to implant or not to implant

I know a few people with implants and they were all told they basically have a 15 year max shelf-life at best (saline and silicone alike). My ex saw me yesterday and outright said my "boobs look terrible like deflated sunny side up eggs" so now I am, of course, even more self-conscious. They truly don't have any volume; just skin... which is why I think if he took off the excess skin which causes INSANE AMOUNTS OF WRINKLING, I would just be completely flat. It would be kinda' awesome to be totally bra free whenever I wanted, but also would be nice to fill out some cute shirts again. I'm really torn on this. Maybe the best thing to do is just hold off and gift myself in a few years as a 40th bday present if I still want them. I can roll up my boobs like a fruit roll-up. That's what they are like. LOL. My guy does not do fat transfers. They are apparently illegal in a lot of places now because they are dangerous. I don't have anywhere to take fat from anyways. lol.

    Vomiting, diarrhoea and pain.

Maybe just go back to soft, bland foods until you can talk to your bariatric team. Could you possibly just have a stomach bug? If you go back to liquids, I don't know why you wouldn't be able to take your vitamins. I was taking vitamins from Day 1.

Not really a rant but just frustrating

I get comments every single time I see a family member and a few particular coworkers that "I better not lose anymore weight" or jokes about how they wish they could donate some of their fat to me. Or worrying questions like "you're not going to lose any MORE weight, are you?". And the parent in my life who spurred on my eating disorder which made me obese to begin with now expresses concern that I "better not lose more weight". Everyone just needs to stfu and mind their own business. You can't please anybody.
  22. Yeah, my surgeon said I could take the garment off for a few hours if my forearms got swollen (they never did, but it was an option). Maybe just leave the bandages off for a while to allow some circulation back into your hands and lower arm and then re-wrap a bit looser. Sometimes by the end of the day I freak out having something so tight on my upper arms that I just rip the thing off and sleep without it on. Feels good, man. lol.
  23. Just 5 weeks ago... lol. They look even... they just seems dangly. Like I was hoping when I wave they wouldn't wave along with me... but they still do. But then my trainer was like "yeah, you need to tone up". So he has me working on "bulking up my muscle" to fill it in.
  24. Like, the outside of my arms look fine, but when I look at them from the inside they look droopy. Maybe it's the incision line really making it seem like more should be taken off because it's like a border line or something. I feel like everything below the incision line should go away. lol. They do dangle a bit when I wave, but also when I flex, my triceps are basically tight to my skin so I guess it's normal and I just need to tone and be patient.
  25. That's pretty strange. Can you use a different compression garment? Do you have drains in? Sorry if this was addressed - I am lazy and don't want to re-read the thread. LOL
