I had surgery 8 months ago. I didn’t cut anything until 4 days before surgery and that’s only because I was on liquids only.

They did blood work and urine test. All tests came back normal. I was told to follow up with primary doctor if it continues. I also had a bad cough so got a prescription called Bromfed? I advised dr about not getting anything with NSAIDS...anyone taken this cough Syrup?

Makes sense. I drained the Fluid but don't like how it looks now.

I am now 4 1/2weeks post op. The first 2 weeks I drank the powder Multivitamin lemonade flavor now I can’t stand it. So 3rd week I tried the chewable Bariatric Multivitamin with 45 mg of Iron it was awful. So this week I tried capsule Bariatric with 45 mg iron once a day I swallowed it but it felt stuck in my throat then just felt nausea. Just wondering what else to do? I hadn’t tried gummies is that any better?

My big incision got a slight infected and oozed clear/yellowish Fluid for days. Then it healed over but the fluid built up and since my scar was thick and the surgeon had to cut it open and then pack it. I had to pack it until it stopped having fluid.

pretty normal when your body is processing an injury and the dead cells get trapped under a layer of skin.

I noticed this when Bandages were removed at home. I called dr office and sent picture. I was advised to pop so Fluid can drained, clean with antibacterial soap and pat dry. Anyone else get this?

I was wondering if anyone that got endoscopy had a chest X-ray? I got mine done in August. When I went last week for my preop appointment the dr said there was aspiration in my lungs. He said before surgery they will do a catscan. Just wondering will this postpone my sleeve surgery...anyone go through this?

I would like to hear from the people that started this journey at 225lbs or less. I am scared I may loose to much weight.My surgery date is October 24th. I am 5’5 41 years old. Would love to hear your stats before and after sleeve.

I an 5'6, 38 years old and was 229 on the day of my VSG. I lost 47 pounds in the first 5.5 months, but have been stalled for the last month, at a weight of 182. I too was afraid of losing too much weight, but believe me, when your weight falls, the weight begins to fall off at a slower pace. I would be perfectly content at my current weight, but I really want to get to 170. It is going to take a long while, but slow and steady wins the race.

Surgery weight was 229, I’m 5’6 and 46 y/o. It’s been 13 months for me since my sleeve was done. I now weigh around 170. I saw 168 last week for a day or two :-) I wouldn’t worry about losing too much. Did you say what your weight is now? You can always increase calories if it becomes an issue but I haven’t heard of anyone with that problem. I went from a size 24 to a size 12 and feel amazing. I would chose to do it again over and over. Very happy sleever.

I had surgery on 8/20 - Op-day starting weight was 218 and currently down to 203 - In terms of goals, there's the one set for you by your surgeon and your own personal. I'm almost 1/2 to my surgeon's goal (down 33 total pounds) and I'm a 1/3 of the way to my personal goal.
Just be sure to work with your NUT and surgeon to find the "right" weight for you.

I'm not a sleever and didn't start out as a "lightweight", but you can control that. If you feel like you've lost too much, you can gradually increase your calories until your weight loss stops.

Good luck to everyone going in! I had mine done on Monday. Everything went well other than the couple of things that came up during surgery. I needed a hiatal hernia repair and tons of scar tissue removed. I woke up in a tons of pain but was able to manage throughout the night and day yesterday. I was up and walking around with no issues and it helped a lot with gas. Force yourself to walk walk walk. I came home yesterday afternoon and slept until this morning. I’ve been managing the pain with liquid Tylenol and to my aurprise that has helped. I already can tell my biggest issue is going to be getting these liquids in because your body tells you no more very quickly. I am already up and about and if it stays this way then I would say, even with the extras during surgery, this recovery will not be that bad at all. So I am 41 years old,5’5, my highest weight is 231. I am currently 222.4. My surgery is scheduled for October 24th. As it gets closer I am very nervous. Questioning myself have I done everything possible to loose weight on my own. I gained most of my weight over the last 7 years. I did diets over the time loose 25 lbs but gain it right back. This happen repeatedly. I stopped taking birth control 2 years ago hoping to get pregnant. It never happened. I got my glucose checked Since Diabetes run in the family. My Ac1 was 6.8 the doctor put me on metformin said it could also work s a fertility. Next check up Ac1 7 and then went to 7.5. At that time my doctor retired and I saw a new doctor. She told me I need to stop worrying about having a baby and start worrying about diabetes. I was in tears. Just heartbreaking! So I continued to my nutrition classes required. My primary doctor doesn’t think I need the sleeve thinks I need a better control of nutrition and excercise. My gynecologist thinks it’s just harder to get pregnant at my age. The only one that has been positive is my weight loss doctor. He thinks at my beginning weight I should be at ideal weight in 6 months and can try to have a baby at that time. Just wondering if there is anyone with my weight and age that has become pregnant after sleeve?
