    October 2018 Sleevers

That stuff was probably too greasy. I haven't had greasy food because I would expect it not to sit well.
  2. I had my surgery on the 5th of October. I have had a hard time getting enough protein in myself. Lately those meal replacement shakes have made me feel nauscious so I'm struggling there. My doctor said I can eat whatever my stomach can handle, but it is hard to get a lot of protein in if I dont drink the shakes. Still struggling to figure it all out.

    Gallbladder n sleeve together?

I had a scan done prior to my surgery and it showed my galstones.

I had my first dr apt September 17th, and my surgery October 5th. I only had to do about two days pre-op liquids only, thankfully! I was blessed to process through everything so quickly. I'm 47, I didn't have the 40BMI, but I have sleep apnea so that qualified me. I was told by my doctor at my two week visit that I could eat whatever I wanted because my body would let me know if I shouldn't be eating something. I was thankful for that too. I think it saves on all the mental stress so many people go through. I had to have my gallbladder removed and hienal hernia fixed all at the same time as my sleeve. I was in a lot of pain after surgery too. Where they detached my esophagus from the surrounding tissues hurt the worst. I hurt in my chest and back because of it. I'm doing good though and went back to work one week post-op. I hope I do well at this, but I know I have to increase my protein. I already drink a lot of water so that hasn't been a problem for me. Good luck!

Why would you want to if you do not have to? I had to have mine out, but I would have rathered not to do it.

Hi Josh, I am also 3 weeks post-op. I had surgeries on the 5th. I had to have several at once though. My doctor told me at my two week visit that I could eat whatever I wanted but to take it slow and see how my body was going to do with it. He said they tell us not to eat because everyone is different and they don't know how much we are going to swell up. The swelling interferes with our digestion he said. But he said I was doing good so I could eat what I felt able to. He said my body would let me know if I shouldn't eat something...with a funny grin on his face. he is really awesome. I have only lost about 15 pounds so I dont think I am doing so good there. I think it's because I am not getting enough protein in so I am trying to do better about that. Good luck!

I had my surgery Friday, and I was in a ton of pain that night. Saturday and Sunday were each better than Friday. I still had a lot of pain Saturday, and some on Sunday. I was released Sunday afternoon and have been doing well. I have a lot of incisions and one of them is 3-4inches long. I am trying not to mess them up. To me the hardest part is movement. Trying to get in and out of bed or a chair with out my stomach getting in extreme pain. I pray that the trend continues and I am way better again.

Did you have the sleeve or bypass? Was it chicken broth or did you actually eat chicken noodle soup?

Today is my day. I get the sleeve. Plus more than I bargained for. I have to have my gallbladder removed and the part of my stomach that is in my chest cavity has to be detached from my organs in my chest and brought down into my abdomen. That is the scary part to me; them having to work in my chest area. However, I know God has this so I am going to go through with all of it. I will let you guys know how i am doing when I am done. I pray all of you who had yours this week are doing great! Bye for now

I thought the same thing, lol. Too long to think about it before hand wouldn't be a good idea for me either.

I just got my surgery scheduled today and it is going to be Friday! So I don't have too long to stress myself out, lol. I found out I have to have a lot of extra work done at the same time so that is more concerning to me really. Part of my stomach is in my chest cavity so they have to go up and bring it back down where it is supposed to be. I have a hernia to fix too. My gallbladder has to come out because of gallstones found during testing. And if that isn't enough, he has to make a sort of flap thing so that the bile he found in my stomach doesn't have a way to make it up my esophagus when I have a much smaller stomach. So, those extra parts threw me for a loop, but I believe it is all in God's hands and will work out fine. I'm thankful it will all be over soon and I can start healing.
