Good job! I don't have to do a liquid diet until after, but your load looks almost identical to what I just ordered. I also got a glass with the ounces marked off so I can measure 2 oz. after.

I was 477 the day of my surgery (489 heaviest weight) and yesterday I went in for a blood pressure check up with my primary care doctor and was 416!!!

I had surgery on May 10. So about six weeks.

Granted I have been walking 5 miles a day. I’ve been waking up at 5 am and lifting weights five days a week for the last three weeks after I was cleared to lift.

I’ve been eating about 1200 calories a day. 120g of Protein or more a day.

Still is is almost too good to be true. I don’t weigh myself at home because I don’t want to be discouraged during stalls.

I'm on day 4 of liquids and have lost 6ish pounds. (I mean, on top of the three months of dieting.) If I can keep losing at this rate, I'll have hit my surgeon's "10% of starting body weight lost before surgery" goal before my surgery next Wednesday.
I got him to let me slide in at the beginning of flu season, whether I hit the goal or not, because I work in public service and get bronchitis every winter. Bronchitis would push my surgery back to ... like, April, maybe, by the time I got better and they got me back on the schedule.
But hitting the goal would still feel good.

I just got my date! 10/15/18.
I've gone off the pill, I didn't drink soda before, quit drinking alcohol, and am ALMOST off coffee. I'm very excited. I just ordered some Premier Protein drinks and a glass with the ounces marked so I can measure out 2 oz. I also bought sweatpants with a loose waist for the hospital.
At my hospital they give you a dilaudid self push hand thing and a small script of dilaudid to take home, so I'm not worried about pain.
I have an office job and they are completely cool with me working from home 2-3 weeks if I feel like I want/need to. That was a huge relief.
I'm super excited about my surgery and meeting my fellow Oct. sleevers.

Hi All! Newbie here with a surgery date of Oct 16th. I'm so excited, but also nervous...and anxious. I am also starting a little early with eliminating carbonation, caffeine, taking lots of Vitamins, etc. Hopefully being prepared will make the transition a little easier. On one hand, I feel like I should enjoy the next few weeks of "freedom" while I'm still able to, but on the other hand, I'm just ready to get it done and over with!
kdiddle, what type of work do you do? Just curious, because I told my surgeon I'm in accounting and he said I would likely only need a week off.

Was sleeved in July, but just wanted to tell you all that you got this. It's going to be rough at first but when those times come just remember that the recovery process is only temporary and when you're back on your feet you will be so happy you did this.

Truth be told: most or the threads are not interesting anymore once you're a while out. The plastic surgery threads are only interesting for those living in the US, not e. g. European countries.
As for "vet advice": I've become quite a cynic about that.

For me it was less about the amount of weight I had to lose, and more about the reversal/remission of my diabetes. RNY gastric bypass is more efficient at diabetes reversal than the sleeve. I am happy to say that 4.5 months later I am pretty dang happy with the choice.

Keep in mind if your expectations are to maintain losing a pound a day then your expectations are too high and are unrealistic therefore setting yourself up for unnecessary feelings of failure.
I easily gain three pounds during certain times of the month. Vigorous exercise or increased salt intake can help increase Water retention as well.
As long as your weight trends downwards over time, you are doing fine.

So what would happen if you, heaven forbid, had a heart attack? I am also at “ at will” employee as is my entire company and most places I have worked. I would say that you need some time of for a medically necessary surgery and leave it at that. Talk to your new HR person. Often at start ups the boss is ignorant of all the intricacies of employee relations and Your HR person may be better equipped to advise him/ her. Also the HR is not able to disclose any personal information you share. My HR office knows I was out for surgery but has no idea what it was. There is something wrong if you can’t take a week or two off for medical and live in fear of your losing job, even at a start up!

I too have lost a lot of hair. I have fine hair in the first place, and surgery has not helped.
I do use the wet brush. I love it! I also only wash my hair twice a week. Dry Shampoo is my friend. I have an appointment Friday for hair extensions. I am hopeful I have enough hair to do extensions for six months or so. I also am hopeful that they will not do any harm to what hair I have left. I guess I will see on Friday. Wish me luck!

Although I work for a larger not for profit, your medical records are private and between you and the insurance company. My doctor also had non- Bariatric stationary for my note with something like Advanced Laprascopic Surgery on it so for all anyone know you had an appendectomy or gall bladder removed. Btw, I had my surgery on a Monday and aside from being tired coil have gone to work by Thursday.

Ahh, just would like to share a little more of my journey !:
The past six months have transcended my highest hopes.
This surgery was, by far, the greatest decision Ive ever pursued.
I started out as a miserable, girl hidden within a body that served as a prison.
And after shedding over 100lbs in under 6 months, after not being able to walk on a treadmill for 20 minutes to now being able to RUN ... FAST for 45mins - 1 hour.
After squeezing into size 20 jeans to Now having my size 12 jeans starting to fall off of me.
I am finally free. My body is , for the first time EVER, matches the mental image i have had of myself. One day I was walking towards a shop and the reflection in the glass startled me. I was wondering why there was a pretty, thin looking, woman coming towards me ?
It was me. I had not recognized myself.
By the end of this months I will be a proud member of ONEDERLAND!! (Only THREE pounds away!!) .
My sister had her VSG done one month before me. My two cousins had gotten there VSGs done in December & one in February. Therefore I have had the best support system i could have ever imagined.
One girl who was my friend completely ignored my calls & such immediately after I was released from hosp after surgery . She was always morbidly obese & I think she was just upset that she wasnt able to be approved for her surgery (she was opting for sleeve)
Months go by and have not heard from her . Then recently she adds me on twitter and tumblr writing all these things like 'I am so glad I didnt get the surgery like u taking the easy way out , u are a weak freak haha' . Mind you this girl is 5'0 and over 300lbs. I laughed even though it got under my skin. Certainly this surgery is no easy way out.
