  1. Hang in there froufrou. You are doing great. I had to wear a heart monitor and do a stress test. Things came back all good. When I did my 2 year appointment, the surgeon was surprised to see I lost and did not gain with covid and everything going on. She said a majority of her patients have gained some. So don’t feel bad. You just have to jump back on the wagon.

  2. Yes, wide array of foods I can eat now. Still in smaller portions. Weight is coming off slow yet, at this point, I am happy to maintain where I am. Keep up the good work. I like running by myself, but my son usually goes and pushes me to run harder. We did 7 miles on Thanksgiving day. 5 today in about 52 minutes.

  3. I have been pretty active since this lockdown. I went back to no carbs for a week. I have lost 4 pounds over the last month. I have increased my activity. I run 3.5-4.0 miles ever other day. It’s tough, but I do it. I still work daily as I work in banking. So not much has changed.

  4. Sorry, it has been a while since I posted. I am running between 2-3 mile 3 times a week now. Still not to my goal, but that is all right. Just about 95 pounds down. I have been maintaining and only losing 2-3 pounds a month now. If the weight loss does not pick back up, the have some medicine they can give me to get me the rest of the way. I feel better and am more confident.

Just checking in. A little past 4 months and I have lost 65 pounds. I've been consuming too many calories to lose at a fast pace. I woke up this morning and the scale said I gained 1.5 pounds. I've been drinking Starbucks daily and is 180 calories. I'm consuming about 1500 calories a day and I feel so defeated right now. I can't bring myself to consume under 1000 calories a day. I feel like it is not enough for me and I'm losing so slow.

I use a Fitbit and myfitnesspal faithfully and it says I still burn about 3000 calories per day still. So, I'm not using 1500 a day, yet my losing is so slow. I've been trying to eat pickles and vegetables to fill up on when I feel like snacking.

Anyone else? Am I alone? I still have a great deal of restriction. Any ideas?

I am losing about 2-4 pounds a week. There have been a couple weeks where I have gained once. Then the next week I lose it. I am down almost 70 pds. I don’t feel like I eat to much. Everyday no. Somedays here and there yes. If I lost any faster I would be broke from having to buy new clothes. Do I wish I would lose faster. Yes, but I am happy with the weight I have lost so far. If I do decide to snack it is calories that contain Protein like yogurt and beef Jerky. Sometimes, I will eat skinny pop popcorn. I still stay away from as much dairy and bread as possible. Try to keep carbs to 120-140 grams a day, and I do not drink milk.

Hey I’m sooooooo glad to read that you didn’t have a structure.

Lol, it was nice to see Marine post.

One of the biggest reasons I decided for sleeve vs bypass was that I didn’t think I’d be able to handle dumping.

You guys that have survived that are rock stars.

    Seriously.
I took a little time away to get my head straight. Some people did not have as much to lose and I was like dang he is down below 200 all ready or she is at this point all ready. I had to take a step back and realize we are at different points in our journey. At times, I wish the weight would come off a little quicker, or I would not stall for a week. I have felt that I have done really well since I had my first experience with dumping syndrome. No freezer dried fruit. Lots of concentrated sugar in it.

Marine! Wow that’s amazing weight loss and thanks so much for posting your progress so far.

I think I’m going to continue to post progress pics every month as a way to track. It’s easy to get caught up in day to day and forget to take a step back and see the bigger picture
I agree with you. 53 does not seem like much, but it is. Keep up your good job

Marine, that's amazing--and it definitely shows. Congratulations! What has your exercise routine been like since surgery?

Non existent has been my routine. I try to walk when I can. I am having issues with my sciatic nerve causing pain in my right thigh. I want to feel better so I can exercise and lose weight faster
