    The Maintenance Thread

I’m doing terrible with adding food to live forever on this maintenance. I am totally depressed I spent 2 months in Florida walked a mile or two every day stayed below 1000 calories a day and lost nothing!!! Now I’m gaining since I’m home probably cuz I am so disgusted. I can only eat small amounts but am hungry an hour later. I was never hungry like this before I had surgery. Ugh it was hell having the prep surgery and post op issues and why to be so unhappy. Help. Do I need a string?

    February 2019 weight loss buds

I tried the fair life with pudding. It didn’t set up. But I you their elite chocolate for a shake plus a scoop of protein powder. I use isopure. Not bad. Just don’t smell it.

    50+

Good luck to you. I was 68 when I had my sleeve done wish I did it sooner. Recovery was a piece of cake. Missing real food though. I have to just get used to that.

Try the fair life chocolate elite. I mix 10oz with 6 oz 1% milk a scoop of isopure unflavored protein and ice in my ninja. You get over 40 grams of protein and it tastes good.

I think we all get stuck. We think about the numbers so much. Or too much.

    6 month post-op weight loss

My weight loss has stalled but I am hungry too. I’m 5 months out now and only 48ish down. Truly stalked. The dieticians aren’t concerned they just changed up my diet. Fingers crossed it works

    6 month post-op weight loss

I’m doing ok with the sleeve. I was supposed to have bypass but when the surgeon got in there my small intestine was too short to do the bypass. But I am actually really happy with the sleeve. I’m losing weight slower but I’m not sick like a lot of the bypass people. I can believe anyone lost 125 lbs in 6 months I’ll be happy with 10 lbs a month. Good luck with your decision! Oh I lost 45 in 4 1/2 months.

    6 month post-op weight loss

I appreciate this and all the sites. I see that I’m not alone. I’m down 45 and wish it was more. I was watching protein but not carbs. I’m resetting today. I’ll see what that brings.

I step on the scale daily. My surgeon says to weigh. Come on. I have to weigh the scale is right there. I was losing better before I transitioned to real food. I was looking at protein and really not paying attention to carbs. Yikes! Revamping my eating!

Jodster My weight loss has been slow but it’s not magic. You’ll lose weight slow and steady. I’m 4 1/2 months out and down only 45 lbs. we are rethinking my eating. I just don’t get enough protein.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

I think the protein powder is disgusting. I only use it in a cold shake or instant pudding. I use unflavored isopure Had an appointment yesterday and got new info on increasing protein. Going to try it all. Also. Healthy4Life ( Munster Indiana) has a Facebook page and there is a great talk on adding protein. Look it up. There are several Healthy 4Life groups. Julie and Debi lead those videos

The powdered protein doesn’t really work good for me in most things. Like hot stuff, if it’s to hot it lumps up yucky. I add to pudding and shakes. I use my blender and beat it to death. I use the unflavored one so I can use it in everything I want to add it to

Drinking at least 64 oz a day plus other liquids. Soup and crystal light. Like I said before my grandson told me to drink room temp water and it’s easy to get it down. It works! I had some discomfort from the drain and of course the gas absorbed was uncomfortable I just need the scale to change.

I had my gall bladder removed also. My surgery was really a piece of cake. I’ve been surprised how great I felt from day one.

I never tried it. I’ll look for that now. Thanks. I think we crave the dairy/salty taste. I’m kind of lactose intolerant or just get gassy with dairy. But love it. I do the carnation breakfast drinks with milk and added protein and get 35+grams a day besides what I actually eat which isn’t a lot
