    Lost 75 pounds!!

It’s true not getting comfortable. But I haven’t had any days that I haven’t been nauseated if I eat just a little too much. Last night we celebrated a grandson’s birthday and I really missed the ice cream cake but only till the kids were done eating. New tip to me from another grandchild that plays hockey. He told me to only drink room temperature water. Not cold or hot. He said room temp water is painless to your stomach. That way you can drink lots more. Good tip and I’m following it.

Surprised when you had your psych evaluation that subject didn’t come up. My tip is get wash up, dressed in comfy clothes not pj’s and sit in a comfy chair. Stay out of bed. Only to sleep. Watch some fun movies, talk on the phone. Don’t let yourself sink into past behavior. You just made a life changing decision now change!!! You are so fortunate to be able to have this procedure. Lots of people can’t afford it and suffer miserably. You are a happy new butterfly!! You are ! You’ll be great and as the scale moves you’ll be terrific. Fly butterfly fly!! Also drink drink drink and move alittle more each day. You can do it!!

Congratulations!!! We all can do it no matter what stage we are at! Drink drink drink. I think the pain is minimal except for the gas so move around as soon as you can. I walked to the bathroom as soon as they let me. I had no catheter so I had to. I found my note!

I stayed 3 days. I had the drain removed Day 2. Can’t imagine going home that quick. Had a terrible time with the diet. I added food before I was supposed to. Scrabbled eggs. It was great.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Thank goodness for husbands. My guy is my strength. He keeps me moving and chest free. But I do still bake at least three times a week. Don’t eat it. It’s my therapy. I give it away or freeze stuff and my grandkids are always happy to take it home. I think we have to do something to keep our minds off the scale! Hate that scale!

I think the. Surgeons are tough. I’m stuck and I know I should be loosing more but it’s been miserably cold here and I just don’t want to spend for gym membership. I know I won’t go. We walk when weather is good but not now. My clothes are getting looser so I’m not getting upset. I see my dieticians on Thursday. Nervous to see how they scold me. They are both skinny

    February 2019 weight loss buds

I was scheduled for bypass but my small intestine was too short to do it so I ended up with the sleeve and couldn’t be happier. It seems now that I’m 4 months out my stomach is more sensitive. I feel hot and cold food like never before and am nauseated a lot. I guess that’s my signal. I get nauseated on car rides. Crazy huh?

The liquid diet in the hospital was absolutely gross. I was on a floor with several Bariatric patients and specially trained nurses. They took very good care of me. The dietary department had issues. I’d rather not eat at all sometimes

Probably not. Relax. You’ll be just fine. They will take good care of you unless you go to Mexico! Heard horror stories about people trying to save money there.

    Hey everyone just wondering...

I was pretty good till I started adding solid food. I found pork is not a good choice it take too long to digest and a salad isn’t the best for me. Avoiding those

Thanks for that. I had that water issue after surgery but it was more like 13 lbs and the surgeon’s office was like how come you lost so little? They told me the I’ve weight would disappear on its own quickly. I weighed my self the day of surgery on my scale and when I walked in from the hospital. I use my scale as my judge. I have a dr appointment the end of March. We’ll see how that goes. I was 68 when I had my surgery and like you feel the difference already. Good luck to you!! Look forward to chatting!

That scale seems to be everyone’s nemesis!! My weight fluctuates all day long and my scale is the kitchen so I weigh at least five times a day. I try to stay positive Just took new passport pictures and I see lots of new wrinkles-I avoid the camera!! But my husband tells me those wrinkles are okay! Me not so much. I’ll be looking for a nip and tuck next year. I have lost lots of hair and am eating protein like I should but sometimes I will eat a cookie just because it looks so good. Or I chew something and spit it out after I taste it. I’m bad.-but old habits die hard. I like that I am able to share ups and downs. That there are lots of us in the same boat. Oh I’m off my metformin and my fasting sugar is less than 100. It was only 140 tops pre-surgery. Have a great day— off to my grandson’s hockey game!!!

Wow. I’m 4 months out and only lost 47 and am kind of stuck. No real exercise except moving more and much easier. I’d almost be at my goal if I lost 100 I have nausea when I drink too much water at one time and there are several foods that make me sick so I just avoid them. Lost my sweet cravings but salt is a little issue for me.

All the aches and pains will slowly go away and after a few months the metamorphosis will occur. Your pants will be falling off, the necks on tops will be slipping off your shoulder ( for the sexy new you). It’s a long road we are all traveling on. Eventually we’ll get there-no matter our age. Take heart, don’t be discouraged! Our journey to our big weight didn’t happen over night. Just one cupcake or cookie at a time!! Love to all those over 50’s out there you can do this!!

    October 2018 Sleevers

No discomfort when I eat But I’ll wake up in the morning to nausea and off and on thru the day. I know when to stop eating. It’s a nice feeling that I’m full. I can eat between 1/2-3/4 cups of food that it and I’ve found that I can not eat pork I think it takes too long to digest.
