Slightly different technique where instead of cutting and stitching the intestine in two places, they loop up a bit of intestine and stitch it to the bottom of the new small stomach pouch in just one place.

IKR! All of a sudden I'm happy with the sweetness in a bit of fruit, and 0% fat Greek yoghurt tastes lovely and creamy. Who needs actual cream and sugar!?

Oh gosh I hear you. But unless they have known "fat" you, (& even sometimes then too) it's still going to come across as another skinny person giving them shame.

Because my head still hasn't caught up to my size, I'm constantly looking at people trying to assess (privately) "am I bigger than them?" "was I bigger than them before the surgery?" Etc. I was almost always the fattest person in a room and I'm still shocked at not being that way anymore. And I want to go up to them all and tell them there's hope. But I don't of course because that wouldn't help. I'd have HATED someone to do that to me.

You got this! Having that extra time to do head work will really pay off in the long run. And if you're evenly proportioned, please God you'll lose it proportionally as well 👍

ummyasmin got a reaction from Tralynn222 in Just starting journey band to bypass
Yep, I’m a band to mini-gastric bypass here. My surgeon did it all in one go but had to leave the pouch bigger than usual because of scarring from the band so probably a good idea to separate the two surgeries out.

All my band problems delightfully disappeared with my conversion. No more reflux, sliming, things getting stuck etc. and I never lost much weight with the band but I'm currently ¾ if the way to my goal having lost about 43 kilos (approx. 100 lbs I think).

    Best decision ever

Look peeps, I LEFT food. I was in town and ordered porridge for brunch with this fruit compote thing (not at all sweet) and they brought a huge bowl out. So I only ate until I thought "that's enough" and I left the rest. Well done me!

My din dins tonight. Parsnip chips made in the airfryer (seasoned with a couple of sprays of rapeseed, salt, garlic and onion powder). The sauce is SF sweet chilli.

The bowl has chicken breast with Brussels sprouts, carrots, broccoli and mushroom, marinated in a bit of Nando's sauce. I baked them all together in the oven for half an hour.

I used to have difficult veins to find for blood draws. Now my doc didn't even have to do the pressy pressy thing, he could see the vein right through the skin.

    Skinny arms FTW

Snap! I'm 11 months out with Dr De Bruyne, so we have been on a similar journey.

Although when the doc took it my blood pressure was normal, I have been getting orthostatic hypotension for the past few months so I do wonder if it's related. I've much improved since going Keto so I just wonder if I've become ultra sensitive to carbs. It's a bit weird having changes this far out from surgery hey.

Hope you feel better soon too!
