    💜 SEP 2019 CHALLENGE 💜

Do I love or loathe exercise. I used to loathe it. Mostly because I never felt I got the feel good endorphins just pain and exertion. Pushing around a 153kg body is never fun. Now I want to be hella more active coz I know I will feel good afterwards. At the actual time of exercise not so much 🤪

Now when I see MO people...

Oh gosh I hear you. But unless they have known "fat" you, (& even sometimes then too) it's still going to come across as another skinny person giving them shame. Because my head still hasn't caught up to my size, I'm constantly looking at people trying to assess (privately) "am I bigger than them?" "was I bigger than them before the surgery?" Etc. I was almost always the fattest person in a room and I'm still shocked at not being that way anymore. And I want to go up to them all and tell them there's hope. But I don't of course because that wouldn't help. I'd have HATED someone to do that to me.

    💜 SEP 2019 CHALLENGE 💜

    1. personal goal: Imma get to Onderland guddamit; exercise every second day; follow Keto with some IF 2. Surgery: MGB conversion from band, losing (slowly) 3. 91.5 kgs = 201.7 lbs / BMI = 32.8 4. Imma struggle with bad knees so it's gotta be easy 5. Favourite flaw: that I have or that other peeps have? Hehe mine is: I'm naively gullible. I'm like the opposite of Judy Judy - I think everyone tells the truth and is innocent. But I figure that's a kinda nice way to be (except I get terribly shocked when I do find out someone has lied to / manipulated me).
  7. Yep, I’m a band to mini-gastric bypass here. My surgeon did it all in one go but had to leave the pouch bigger than usual because of scarring from the band so probably a good idea to separate the two surgeries out. All my band problems delightfully disappeared with my conversion. No more reflux, sliming, things getting stuck etc. and I never lost much weight with the band but I'm currently ¾ if the way to my goal having lost about 43 kilos (approx. 100 lbs I think). Best decision ever

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Ok lads, late posting this and I sucked at the challenge (didn’t quite hit onderland) but I did increase my exercise heaps and joined the gym so I’m well proud of myself for that

    African American RNY Sisters

For the same reason there are threads for surgery months, men's section, women's section, types of surgery etc. Because peeps like to bond over what connects them. It's not a hard concept.
  10. You know... I'm about six weeks off my annual checkup so I might make it early with my GP and see if there's something non-bariatric going on. I googled and apparently thyroid issues can cause jittery feelings.
  11. Thx Jazzy, it's just a bit annoying

    Foods that make you dump

Oooh woops I'm not a sleeve, I'm a mini- gastric bypass, my bad.

    Foods that make you dump

Definitely regular icecream and not much of it on an empty stomach. I stole about 3 or 4 spoons of my hubby's Ben & Jerry's at the movies once and about 20 mains later I got the shakes, feeling faint, nauseous etc. Haven't tried more than one teeny spoon of ice cream since. I once had a petrol station machine mocha and a small can of Pringles and oh my that made me dump AND throw up with 20 or 30 mins. That was about 4 mths after surgery, haven't done that again. Those experiences were enough to make me very cautious about sugar. Nowadays 10 mths out from surgery I have had a few reactive hypoglycaemia attacks when I ate stuff I shouldn't have. A scone with a teeny bit of jam and some nice cream gave me a hypo two hours later. As did a whole packet of cheezles I stupidly ate in one sitting. Also if I eat sweet (white or milk) chocolate I have to be very careful or I'm hypoing two hours later. Basically if I break the rules, I suffer, which is what I (well, technically the Health Service) paid €7450 for!

    Nervous about revision

Ha! My surgeon gave me a mini-gastric bypass and told me I have to take omeprazole for life just to make sure I don’t get ulcers (more of a risk with the MGB??) so I wouldn’t necc. make the decision on whether you need to take PPIs for life, only. You might end up needing to take them anyway.
