I would get some OTC Prilosec while you're waiting for the doctors to figure it out just to eliminate the possibility of excessive acid production. You could chomp on some tums too and see if that makes a difference.

And I think you need some serious help. If you are doing coke and chasing it with alcohol, you have way bigger problems than can be resolved in a bariatric support group. Maybe check out some rehab centers.

I wish I knew that once the weight started coming off, I would experience unexpected anxiety and depression from the hormone dump. I never even knew that was a thing until after surgery and I did some research on the subject. I'm feeling better now but it would've been nice to know this was a thing. Good luck with your surgery!

I had the same problem and started using Metamucil sugar free everyday and that fixed me right up. It's never caused bloating and has always kept things flowing normally for me.

I like this stuff. It works well if you mix it in a few ounces of warm Water with a fork as directed. You just add it to what ever cold or hot liquid after that and you can't hardly notice it's there.

One of the best places I found to help make decisions on what surgery to have and what to expect was YouTube. Just search "weight loss surgery" and there will be a large amount of content on the subject. I watched one yesterday from somebody I haven't watched in awhile because he started doing what seemed like pyramid schemes. It touches on some of the replies on this thread.

I wish I would have known that dumping syndrome can happen even if you get the VSG. It's happened to me, multiple times. I also wish I would have been less scared of loose skin and excess hair shedding and went for Bypass.

So, I m down to 198 and feeling amazing, my husband and I started walking Monday and I felt so good, my legs were not rubbing together, I was able to keep up with him and I even noticed my shadow casted in front of me it was smaller, I did not have the broad shoulders or apple shape in front of me! It felt Soooooooooo Goooooooood! We walked 2 miles and did it again on Tuesday, Wednesday got rained out but we also celebrated 25 years of wedding bliss! WooHooo! Thursday, doctor's appointment and he was so happy of the weight loss! He also decreased my blood pressure medication in half! I also have went from a size 22W to a regular 14. I have to say it again, "I Feel Sooooooo Goooooood!"

I was taking venlafaxine (Effexor) years before my surgery. After my surgery it has been difficult finding the correct dosage and I've experienced some really tough days with extreme depression and anxiety. I hope some day to find the right balance. Good luck. With gastric bypass, my extended release meds don't have the same effect.

I've found that the best information as far as what to expect out of your choice of WLS for the first year can be found on YouTube. There are endless hours of people recording their journey from pre-op usually until a year post-op. I watched all the ups and downs and learned a lot of dos and don'ts from many people on YouTube well before I had my surgery. It was like binge watching Netflix. I couldn't wait to see the next episode.
It seems most people come to forums like this for immediate answers to something that's going on right now. Each platform has it's own unique set of benefits and weaknesses. I think for research into WLS, YouTube is the best resource to see the bigger picture. For support and immediate answers, groups like these are the best places to go. What ever a person does to prepare for this life altering decision, they should explore every possible resource available. Knowledge going into this is definitely empowering.

Don't worry about it. It's a crazy world we live in when you get crucified for having a negative opinion of someone doing cocaine but look back at how people were lambasted for going against their "team" and eating pizza on this forum. LMAO! Watch all the bleeding heart, put a heroin injection site in our town wackos with their pitchforks and torches come out.

Kind of funny how you even chose an avatar that looks like a b***h. Why don't you take a look inward before calling someone an ass.

Nobody will fully understand your struggles with obesity and the need for WLS like people that are going through the same thing. It's like a person struggling with an alcohol or drug addiction trying to get support from someone who thinks they have a handle on it. Until a person gets to the point where we are now and seeks out and joins a group like this, they will (in most cases) be ignorant to the battle. Education is key and most people in your life won't take the time to learn your struggles unless they're in the same boat. They will only use your predicament as fodder for gossip.
