  1. Oh no! Praying for our dear friend right now!
  2. Update to my prayer request - I had a follow up appointment with the oral surgeon. I'm healing nicely and have a letter of clearance for my VSG. Thank you for your prayers and praise the Lord! All testing is done. Doctors are paid. All I have left now is flying down to TX, finishing my pre-op diet, paying the hospital, and getting my check in time.
  3. I hope it's okay, but I've gone through and quoted everyone who has asked for prayer up until now so that we don't lose sight of the intent of this thread. I sincerely apologize if I forgot any of them. Plz pray for me. I have a god fearing mom who is continuously praying for me, I’m praying for myself but any additional prayers would be amazing. I’m nervous and anxiety is through the roof! 3 days remaining until i undergo my first surgery.

    Nice! Congratulations!
  6. I'm praying for you as well! I'm praying for no complications and quick healing for you (and for everyone with upcoming surgery dates), but we have the assurance that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). We know regardless of the outcome, we can have peace knowing that everything is working together for His Glory.
  7. Thank you. I see you're also a DFWer. I live in WI right now, but originally from McKinney. I'm coming down to have my surgery in Garland.
  8. Yes it is for 2 weeks. I have all my stuff ready to start it. I happened to find bombpops (my favorite popsicle from childhood) in SF. I had one tonight and they taste just like the full sugar ones! Yay! Nice! I haven't had one of those in years. I wish they still made pudding pops. Those were my favorite.

    Time for surgery

Each time I've had planned surgery or a family member has, we've always gotten a call the day before with our check-in & surgery time, except if the surgery is on Monday, then we'd get a call late on Friday.
  11. I can. I'm not supposed to have even decaf post-op for awhile because of the acid, so I'm just holding off until then.
  12. Mine is the same as far as lean meat. Mostly chicken and fish. No starchy vegetables. One serving of fat. So basically a teaspoon of olive oil or butter. No caffeine. I started weaning myself off of it as soon as I found out, so back on June 28th because I love coffee. So I get 200 more calories in mine, but you get more ounces of meat and a fruit snacks.
  13. Yeah, I wouldn't want to try starting that one early. Is your pre-op diet 2 weeks?
  14. That is awesome! Do you have to do a pre op diet? I hope all goes well for you with the VSG but also with the dental! Yes, I have to do a 2 week pre-op diet, but I started it early. Mine allows Protein Shakes and 4 oz of lean meat and vegetables for dinner. My calorie cap is 1200.
  15. My VSG is on the 13th too!
  16. Mine got rescheduled for the 13th as well! Originally I was 9/5, but I had to have oral surgery and that was cutting it too short to heal completely for intubation with VSG surgery.

My surgery got moved to Sept. 13th because I found out I had an infected wisdom tooth. But I'm still on the pre-op diet. Mine allows protein shakes and 4 oz of lean meat and vegetables for dinner. My calorie cap is 1200. I was REALLY worried about being hungry all the time, but it really hasn't been bad. I started early so I could get a jump start on weight loss, but also so I could take Advil if I got horrible headaches, which I did the first couple days, but haven't had to take any since. Right now because of my oral surgery, I'm on all liquids anyway. I found 2 brands of protein powder I really like. Vega protein and greens and Integrated Supplements whey isolate protein. My stomach doesn't tolerate Splenda/sucralose and Vega and Integrated use stevia and fructose and fruit extract, but still staying under the 200 calorie cap per shake, over 15 grams protein, under 10 net carbs.

Your screen name has me curious. Are you a Disneyland guru by chance or a Power Rangers fan?
  21. Yes please. I have oral surgery today at 2:00 CST for 2 impacted wisdom teeth, one which is infected. My VSG was originally scheduled 9/5, but had to be rescheduled because of the infection. I'm flying out of state and the Lord answered our prayers not to have to change our non-refundable plane tickets and with an equally fantastic surgeon at the same clinic. Sleeve surgery is now 9/13. The oral surgeon said it will take 2 weeks to heal. We leave for Texas on 9/2, so only a week after oral surgery. I'll need a letter clearing me by the oral surgeon for anaesthesia & to be intubated before 9/13. Prayers that I heal quickly and that the surgeon feels comfortable writing the letter before I leave or I can find an oral surgeon in TX easily that will write me a letter after I've healed. Thank you, Christy

Update, my patient advocate was awesome and pulled some strings, so my surgery will now be 9/13 and I don't have to try to change my flights.

Prayers needed guys. I just found out I have an infected wisdom tooth. I have to have it removed and get a letter that I've healed before my 9/5 VSG or it has to be rescheduled. My flight is already booked to have the VSG. I have a very active child with autism who WILL not be gentle with me, so I purposely scheduled 2 weeks recovery in TX with my parents while DH and in-laws take care of my son. I know it'll work out, but I'm freaking out right now.
