Hey all, I am 22 months about and was getting my work up for a Tummy Tuck only to find out I’m pregnant! Besides being freaked out by the fact that I’m having a baby at 42 after a gastric sleeve.... I’m surprised and getting used to the idea. My major concern is how will this progress? At 22 months out I am still eating 4 ounces three times a day averaging about 750-900 calories has anyone gotten pregnant? Any issues?

I've had a hard run but after much heartache, I finally had my surgery on December 10th. The picture of me in the gray shirt was taken at my highest weight. That was my nephew's first xmas. The picture with the red shirt was taken a few days ago. Same sweet boy, same (but shrinking) auntie Gigi.
I am having multiple issues but the weight seems to be easily coming off.
I hope that others are doing well with all of your recent surgeries.
    Top weight: 427

    I'm so excited!
I'm about 12 weeks post-op gastric sleeve and I was worried about my pre-planned two week cruise and how I would manage to eat and stay on the right track. I was so good! I didn't eat a single dessert or Pasta or pizza. I had a cheese omelette every morning for Breakfast, salmon for dinner every night and various things for lunch but all making good choices.
I just got back late last night and weighed this morning and I lost 2.5 pounds during my two-week cruise! Hooray! I exercised in the pool every morning and did lots of walking and stayed hydrated.
I'm just so excited that I made good choices around all that ton of food on the cruise ship and still ended up losing weight! Hooray! Yippee!
Here's a photo of me from the cruise - I've lost 25 pounds since surgery 12/11/18.

You're sleeve is a tool. It is still there. I talked to my nutritionist a few years ago about this subject. She said individuals that experience this can reverse the trend. But she said the weight loss doesn't happen overnight. Essentially the amount of time that you were binging is approximately equal to the amount of time to shed the weight again. So if you are bingeing for the last 6 months, it might take you 6 months to lose that 40 pounds regain. So be patient and persistent.

How's everyone doing in the new year so far? I've been doing great. Had a slow loss in Dec (my own fault). I've already lost more in January than in December and only half way through the month! I was sleeved 8/16 and I'm down 69.2 from HW and 50.5 from SW. I've lost 44 inches too. Gone from a size 24 pants to a 16 or 18, a size 3X or 22/24 top to XL or 14/16, and a 44C bra to a 38/40 C/D. I've also been doing Zumba, which I love. I want to try kickboxing too. I'm super happy with my progress. I attached my most recent progress pic.

So Jewel (grocery store) by mrle had these to put in Water. Theres a root beer one and cream soda. The root beer tastes just like diet root beer but without the carbonation! There was also another one with cherry coke cause my favorite pop was cherry coke zero! It tastes ok but not as good as the root beer. Try them out...they are like 5 calories and sugar free

Start today! Procrastination, giving up and excuses will not burn calories or help you lose weight. Give yourself some tough. Love you don't want a small gain to turn into a large gain.
Join a weight loss challenge to keep you on track. Some on this site or google them.
If your not logging your food. Get back in the habit again.
You have lost the weight before you can do it again. Years out, we can get a bit complacent or slip back into old behaviors. I'm four years out I've also had to lose a regain. It's work. It's the same work we put in our first year. It may mean overcoming some mental battles to get back into your weight loss mojo.
    pouch reset or real food?
Some people can go back to liquids and progress in food stages. shakes never make me feel satisfied. If liquids are too restrictive for you, Choose a whole/real food diet that you can be consistent with. If you can't consume your weight loss calorie/macro goals, spread them out to five to six small meals. Log your food.

Accept the you will feel crappy for a bit as you detox. Get temptations out of your house. Keep health sweet and salty options on hand. (IDK much about keto. I'm sure others can give you better options) Examples that I use Sweet: fruit, can dip it in Sugar Free Chocolate or caramel Syrup. Salty: I make chicken fajitas without a tortilla or eat Jerky.

The best workout is the one you will be consistent with. A trainer or on your own with a gym membership. Whatever works for you.

Malcy reacted to RussT in 250 pounds lost!
I had my sleeve surgery in November 2016. Pre surgery weight was 470. After 2 week pre-op diet I was 440. This week I weighed in at 220 pounds. That's 250 pounds LOST and it's been easy. I am insanely glad that I made the decision to get this surgery. I've heard stories of people who gain weight back after this surgery, and it baffles my mind because even 2+ years later I still get full so quickly. I can't imagine how anyone can eat too much with such a reduced stomach size. I know instantly that I cannot eat anymore once my stomach is full. I know instantly that if I took another bite I would feel physically ill. Anyway, I am beyond happy with my health and the way I look. From a 58 waist to a 36 slim fit in jeans.
    Yay me!

Absolutely, positively no regrets. This has been one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. Sure I had some nerves about how I'd handle the holiday season, but everything went just fine. I also have a little angst about the possibility of losing my hair. But I'm taking Biotin and L Lysine and moving on. No way do I have a shred of a doubt that I made the right decision.

Malcy reacted to Alex Brecher in The Most Wonderful Time of the Year – Really!
The holidays are upon us. If you are a weight loss surgery patient or someone who’s working on losing weight, knowing that it’s that time of year can fill you with dread. Let’s face it: it does not seem like much fun to pass up your favorite foods while watching what seems like everyone else eat them, or drag yourself to the gym while the rest of the world is dreaming in their nice cozy beds, or go to doctor’s appointments when you think everyone else is on a care-free vacation from work.

How you may wonder, can you make this the most wonderful time of the year if you cannot Celebrate it with the same food, drink, and abandon that you may have before your WLS journey started? Keep your chin up! We’re not promising that these holidays will be the same as ever, but you can make them great. They may even be better! Here are our thoughts on loving the holidays while staying healthy.
    We’re Not in Kansas Anymore!
As with the rest of your life, the success of the holidays can no longer best be measured by how much you ate. There is so much more to it than that! Now, pleasure from food contributes to “success,” but so do so many other things, including the activities you do, the quality of your time with loved ones, and the pride you have in yourself. Give up your former conceptions of what holiday happiness is, and you will have a lot to gain (but not weight).
Just Say, “No!” – But How?
There is no denying that a good deal of the holiday cheer – and the holiday struggle – revolves around food. Eat it with abandon, and you will set yourself back months. You are almost sure to be offered more than you should eat and foods that are not on your diet, so you will need to learn to say no. Be prepared with different ways to say, “No,” without hurting anyone’s feelings, and practice the before-hand so you are not caught off guard.
“No, thanks.” “No, thanks. I’m not hungry.” (If you’re in the middle of lunch so you cannot claim that you are not hungry:) “No, thanks. It’s not in my diet.” “I would love to, but my doctor said I cannot have that!” “Thank you! How kind! I will save it for later.” Later, give it to someone who will love it. Be Confident.
Be polite but firm when refusing food or insisting on getting in your afternoon walk. You may be surprised at how easily people accept your decisions. They may even make them easier once they see you are serious by, for example, offering to bring you a diet-friendly version of a treat or asking to come on your walk. If you waver initially, though, they may not take you seriously, and instead, keep prodding you to abandon your good intentions.
    Be Proud of Yourself.
A barrier to success that is present year-round, but more intense during the holiday season, is the natural desire to help others – and this can come with a feeling of guilt if making your health a priority makes you worry that you are not giving your best to your family. Remember that you can give your best only when you are at your best, and to be at your best, you need to be healthy. You will have more energy, think more clearly, and even be happier when you are taking steps towards health, and all that will enable you to give more to others.
    You Are Not Alone
The grass may seem greener on the other side of the fence, but is it really? It probably is not, even though you may feel that your holiday season is hard while others have it easy. The truth is that millions of others are facing the same challenges as you. Even people who appear not to have weight problems are sure to have major concerns in their lives. They may be fighting just as hard as you to avoid eating the whole pie, or they may have non-food challenges. You do not know, but what you can safely assume is that everyone has challenges. You will feel better about yourself if you always treat others with respect and not with jealousy.
Rather than feeling sorry for yourself, you might as well embrace the holidays for what they are worth: an opportunity to overcome hurdles and strengthen yourself; a magical time of year when people come together; and a chance to experience new feelings and participate in new activities that may not have been possible before you got serious about your health.
