    Hey everyone
Well I have done it. I took the leap of faith and now I’m on the other side.
I got home this afternoon after 1 day stay. Lots of burping and passing gas. I’m so full for tea spoons of puréed chicken in broth , my stomach did feel sore because of it. Sipping Water through the day and trying to walk.
And also my focusing on my breathing and making sure I temperature myself.

I was so scared before the surgery and so nervous , and now I’m at home trying to get through the first few days and slowly adjusting to this new life.

Also I had a different name on here , few people managed to find me that I didn’t want for them to found out so I changed it.

Anyway I’m trying to focus on the things, it took me about 1,5 years to get here so it’s a long time coming.

Thank you for reading and hopefully I will hear from you guys xoxo

Congratulations !!!! I'm in the same boat 3rd day post op. J cant wait for the pain to go away. Had my hernia fixed at the same time And I think that's were most of the pain is from . They had problems fixing it . Hope all goes well for you. And I was scared also just before surgery. The Doc seen how nervous I was and asked if I wanted to get dressed and go home . LOL . But I'm looking at the long term affects .

Best wishes tomorrow and hopeful for good outcomes... you will do fine.. it will be challenging at the beginning and some pain... I didn’t expect the amount of pain since I had my gall bladder removed... but the doctor 👨‍⚕️ explained it more to me maybe because I’m a nurse 👩🏼‍⚕️!!! He said your stomach mad at me and your diaphragm is mad at me since they have to manipulate that as well and he also said he has to glue the mesentery back which have a lot of pain receptors... I’m telling you all of this to give you information not scare you.. I had a pain pump and I was so grateful for that...

You will do fine.. try to get some rest!!!

    Good luck

Pre or post surgery? If pre, I'm on day 9 of 14 of my pre-surgery liquid diet. Sorbet is awesome (sugar-free), I've been doing Protein Shakes and filling in with broth to change up my taste. Bullion cubes have only 30 calories per cube and so you can actually have quite a bit which can help you feel full. Skim milk is a fallback for me as well as it isn't the greatest nutritionally but helps you feel fuller. I tend to eat/drink the same things over and over and enjoy repetition, so that's not a problem for me, but it gets easier each day. I still have cravings a ton, but I just move on and remember that I'm 6-8 weeks from being back to a "normal" diet again. You can do it!

Its pre op . Thanks for the reply . Start mine on the 30th . Surgery on the 13th . For me this might be the hard part . But with the forums help I just might get through it .Have stocked up on the Protein Shakes . Can we drink all we want or is there a limit ??

any tips on getting through this part

Pre-op was hard for sure. Did a house purge which made it some amount easier, but hub and kids mean there’s always something around. Honestly, it was a lot of mind over matter, I knew it would be totally apparent to my dr. If I didn’t, and it mattered to me that I showed my commitment to them as well.

    Thanks .

I would love to make some surgery buddies now so we can go through all the pre-op requirements together and stick through surgery and beyond. Anyone else already know their surgery will occur this summer?

My surgery is going to fall in the July or August time frame. Most of this is dependent upon checking all my surgeon's boxes, the rest is dependent upon my financing since I'm self-pay. I'll be getting the sleeve.

I love my surgeon and feel really lucky to have found him. So far the pre-op stuff has gone smoothly, but I am just at the beginning stages. I've scheduled all my evals and classes and attended my first weight loss class last week. I found it to be mildly helpful. It was certainly geared more toward those that hadn't already read through the surgery binder and/or those that had no clue what healthy eating consisted of. I'm hoping future classes focus more on the post-op eating.

My first visit with my PCP about this surgery is next week as that's the soonest I could get in to see her. I'm hoping she'll be supportive as my surgeon knew of her when I told him that's who I see. But if I have to find another PCP so be it.

My first dietician appt is next week and psych eval is the week after that. I only have to get these three meetings out of the way to schedule my surgery. So I'm anxious to get that done!

I'm excited to hear from others along the same timeline as me!

    mine is the 13 to
