  1. I am on Prilosec and my dr. Said I should take it for 2-3 more months. I too had awful heartburn, especially when I went to bed. I hope I’ll be able to start tapering off in a couple of months.
  2. Hi all, at my 6 week checkup on Friday, I had lost 43 lbs total and 22 since surgery. I’m free to add all food to my diet and to work up to 1/2 cup food at my 3 meals per day (half protein, half vegetables, including raw veggies!). I can have nuts too! I’ve had a tough time with ready made protein shakes, but I made a protein shake at home with spinach, banana, Fage yogurt, blueberries and vanilla protein powder and it was quite good. It is so good to feel almost normal :).
  3. Awesome on the weight loss! I’m 3 or more weeks behind you, but now I can’t wait to go to Cheesecake Factory :). I know what you mean about being scared to branch out. I’d love to nibble on some raw carrot or some nuts! Hopefully I’ll be out of “mushy phase” at the end of this week. I’m not sure what will be allowed, but right now my favorite meal is chili!
  4. That’s awesome! I have my 6 week appointment next week and my “mushy” phase is supposed to end then. The queasiness seems to be lessening, but I still can’t stand the protein shakes. I’m going to try some new approaches this weekend :). How many meals/snacks do they have you eating on the unrestricted diet?
  5. Miss_Kee, I too am tired of feeling nauseous and throwing up. It’s been 4 weeks since surgery, and I can barely eat. The smell of food, and sometimes the even mention of it makes me queasy. It’s like intense morning sickness. But when I have an empty stomach, the acid reflux is awful. I’m taking Prilosec and Zantac - that helps with that, but I can’t wait until I can enjoy food again!
  6. Why does my spell check substitute “regrows” or “received” for “refried”????
  7. I was sleeved on 11/28. For me, eating kinda sucks. I eat most of a scrambled egg for breakfast. I have 1-2 tablespoons of regrows beans for lunch, and maybe some cream of chicken soup with some chicken chunks (wellchewed). I try to get in some protein shake or high protein yogurt between meals. And maybe a sugar free popsicle at night. The first lunch of received beans came back up - at work :(.
  8. Yay, I get to start mushy foods today! Breakfast was some scrambled egg with cheese :). Lunch will be 2 tablespoons of regrows beans with a little cheese. I’m supposed to have a protein shake between but I’m wondering if I’ll be able to drink a whole one. So glad to be done with the liquid post-op diet!
  9. @Linda86, I had a hiatal hernia that was fixed as part of my sleeve surgery, it’s been only 11 days, but no heartburn yet.
  10. How long have you all been on pain meds? I had my surgery on 11/28, and I still need my Percocet at least a couple of times a day. I’m trying to stretch it out so I can get off this med, I went 13 hours last night and I can sleep ok, but boy it really helps with feeling kinda normal during the day.
  11. Well, the time has come - I’m about to head to the hospital to get sleeved. Best wishes for all 28thers!
  12. Welcome new. End-of-monthers! It is fascinating and informative to hear from those already going through the process. As a 11/28 person, I start the preop diet in one week!
  13. November 28th for me! I look forward to all those things and flying without worrying the buckle will fit!
