piacovetto@gmail.com reacted to tmrtyty2018 in Passed the Chic-fil-A test...it was tough
So my husband, who is as slim as they come, asked me nicely if I would mind if he did Chic-Fil-A for lunch while we were running errands. I didn’t want to be a drag so I told him sure. Now that is one of my favs. Their waffle fries and chic-fil-a sauce are AMAZING! So I sat and smiled and fought through all the feels while he and our toddlers ate fries and chicken nuggets and a grilled chicken sandwich while I sipped on my Water. It was probably the toughest moment so far Since the surgery. I have to say that I wasn’t that hungry so the hunger pains were minimal but I really wanted to just lick the salt off those fries. When the torture was over I felt like a new woman. I had conquered one of my previously fav fat girl places and I wasn’t angry. I was more like determined that I would never let food define me again. I thought “hey if I eat here in the future the grilled nuggets are an option”. I actually feel pretty darn good. Just thought I share.

Every 10 pounds I buy a sack of flour and set it in a stack next to fridge. I'm 2 bags in since surgery (Sept 27) Good motivator when I want to open fridge for a unnecessary bite!

    Clothes! Clothes! Clothes!
Besides necessity, there are a few reasons it is fun:
    1. I am no longer limited to plus sizes. Exploring stores and having more options is amazing, whole new world of possibilities. 🤩
    2. My body has a better shape so it is actually possible to look good in clothes. I don't feel like a blob anymore 😊
    3. If done right, shopping is decent exercise. Lots of walking. Bring a Water bottle and get to work! 😉
Side note: I do love pedicures, but have actually gone less since losing weight bc it is also kinda exciting how easily I can reach my toes! No more huffing and puffing!

7 weeks post-op and 35 lbs down since my coworkers have last seen me. I’m not looking forward to returning to work tomorrow and answering questions. Although this experience has been positive for me, I don’t want the attention 🤦🏽‍♀️.

My sleeve date is 8-22-18. Have waited soooooo looooong to get this done. I know it’s going to be hard but was thinking that it cannot be any where near as hard as living all these years as an obese person. Living through the bullying, shame, humiliation, rejection, physical problems, lack of good clothing and footwear choices, self recriminations, and....and....
Good job all! Fight the good fight! Get Gas X, walk a lot, ask for your pain meds, drink Water.
BTW- Premier Protein is NOT a source of Protein ISOLATE, it is a protein concentrate. We NEED the protein ISOLATE...better source of amino acids. I just learned about that. Have been using the Premier for a while 😩.
Looking forward to our new selves!

I just read about that too and saw that Premier Protein is the concentrate form not the isolate. The isolate has better amino acids which are the building blocks of Protein. I do not remember the science difference between the two but it’s significant. I have 2 Premier shakes left and I’m switching forevermore and AMEN!!
BTW-the nutritionist I see was ok with Premier but I think I’ll bring it up now that I know about it.

Surgery date is 8-22. Will do pre op starting 8-6, so it’s two weeks of liquid diet. I KNOW this will be hard and I very much appreciate all you men and women out there sharing.
I was thinking that, yes-this will be hard-I can’t imagine it’s going to be harder than living all these years with shame, rejection, humiliation, isolation, lack of clothing choices AND weight related health issues to name a few. Hard? Been there-done that.
    Bring it on!!!
I’m going to be a NEW person and I’m going to love it and I’m going to have fun and go horseback riding and and and...lots of stuff!! Shop for clothes!! Run -don’t-walk on the treadmill....
Im going to stick it out and SO CAN YOU!!
