Ok here’s my progress. (Had to switch to my phone - no scandalous pics on my work computer) 😀

I started this journey at a size 20, now down to a tight 12. Body fat then was 48%, I’m now down to 36%. I am 5lbs away from the Overweight BMI category and no longer being obese!!

Photo 1: I can see my progress better from a side view. (My boobs will not die!!)

Photo 2: Face to face comparison. (My skin didn’t change colors, lighting was just better)

Photo 3: My arms are skinny!!!

You look Great! And I love the tank btw!! LOL

  2. Hi everyone:

I’m 96lbs down from my HW of 354. I was sleeved last July and have my one year follow-up appt on the 10th. I’m still losing between 7-10 lbs a month and I’m not really exercising at all. I do plan to ramp that up this summer though. My goal weight is 175 so I still have a ways to go. Slow and steady... It truly has been a wonderful journey. My whole life changed with the first 30 lbs and it all been wonderful since then. Hope to be in Onederland by Christmas.

I made some Shepard’s pie today. Some with White Potatoes for Kids and some with Sweet for me. I used a meat substitute, peas, carrots, broccolli in a savory tomatoe sauce. Trying to get my Phytonutrients in naturally :))). Kids lapped it up, but u fortunately I got full just on the tasting while cooking and now the thought of actually eating it is not appealing anymore... 😕

I’ve had a similar issue with leftovers after I get full off something. I can go back for more later. The thought of it will turn my stomach. It makes meal prep super tricky. I can’t eat off the same stuff for a few days. I use to be able to do that no problem. Not post surgery.

    HI Sandi,

I am 8 days post op and finding energy comes back little by little. I would say be careful not to over do it. Like an idiot I had appointments I couldn't cancel on day 6 post op and walked almost 7000 steps mostly outside in the heat. Needless to say I felt wiped and dehydrated the next day. Its taken my three days to recover from that.

I asked the surgeon about they energy at the post-op and this what they explained to me. My cuts are laprascopic so they said I have little cuts on the outside but big ones on the inside. 50% of our energy is going to healing from our major abdominal surgery. The other 50% is keeping us alive and doing our body functions. When we go for walks that 50% of energy keeping us alive and running our bodies is cut even further. Then you add the lower caloric intake to the equation. Thats why they say short walks because you will burn your energy quicker and run out sooner.

I was worried too but this made perfect sense to me once explained. I hope this helps!

    Thanks for sharing.

I had been doing 45 minutes on the treadmill a month or so before surgery and I tried last week to get back into the swing of walking. I made it to 6 mins at 2 miles an hour and had to quit. I was wiped.

I thought I was just out of shape.

I think we do take for granted that once our small incisions heal that our bodies are done with the process.

3 days out and feeling pretty good except I've vomited 2x. Very small amount, basically a "spit up" after I took a pill and another time after 2 small sips of Water. Other than those times I'm not nauseous at all. Has this happened to anyone? I'm concerned about vomiting and the pressure on the sleeve.

I wouldnt worry about it. I threw up everytime I stood up in the hospital. But just Water and liquid. It goes away and I doubt it puts you at any risk. Its your body's natural response.

    Hey all,

Ive been looking for something to carry my drinks, Protein powders, and pills for when I go back to work. I know I will still be needing a Protein Drink for some time to hit my daily goal. I can’t seem to find anything like this. I found one thing on Kickstarter and funded it. Of course that is not certain. Has anyone else found something like this that would carry everything?

This is the carry-all I got on Amazon. It carries portioned meals. pills. shakes, everything. And keeps them cool all day. I love it. http://a.co/8jDsGQU

Surgery date 8-22. So relieved to have THE DATE. Even though it’s a ways off, I’m better knowing I have it scheduled. Really appreciate all your posts, I’m learning a lot and am looking forward to more🙂best wishes to all😀.

It gets easier once you can plan and have a finish line in mind. Although, it’s not the finish line at all. Just the beginning. :)

I got my call to be there at 9:10 so we will be in surgery around the same time. :)

Definitely keep us posted and wishing you a speedy recovery!

One day post op. Few issues but it all worked out.

I was all prepped for my 11:40 surgery and my anesthesiologist said that since I hadn’t had my blood pressure meds he was going to order them for me to take with a smalle sip of Water.

I told them that my surgeon said that unless I could get up at 5am and take them that I should skip them this morning and I would get them later. But hey have it to me anyway.

My surgeon finished the surgery before me and came to see me. Her first question was... did they give you a pill?!

SMH. I told her what happened and that I told them my instructions from her. Although she told me not to worry and that I did nothing wrong, she came back after a stern chat with the anesthesiologist and nurses to tell me that my surgery got pushed and she would need to take the next person in line in order to give me four hours to digest the pill.

it was a little disappointing but mostly unfortunate for my family that was waiting around.

It all worked out fine, I went in at 2 pm instead but my advice to others is that you have to be willing to fight for yourself sometimes. Especially if you knew what your surgeon requested of you.

I’m in my room. Minor nausea yesterday when I stood up to go to rest room and to walk laps. They say it’s the morphine causing that. I threw up each time although there was nothing in my stomach so it was mostly heaving up saliva. But laying down I have a bit of trapped gas but nothing bad.

Hope others had good surgeries yesterday!

@Lioness815 I'll be right there with you. Have to be at hospital for 10am to get things going. No nerves as of yet, we'll see what the morning brings. For sure had some stupid dreams last night about losing weight but other than the weight loss the rest of the dream was just bananas. Best of luck to you and hoping for a pain free speedy recovery for you.

Thanks! And all the best to you too. Here’s to wonderful surgeries and speedy recoveries!!

Hello all, especially the birthday girl @peggilyn72.
This is my first post ever and it is from the recovery room at 6:45am 1 day post sleeve!
Good luck to everyone- it’s defo a bit rough the first few hours after the procedure but nothing you all can’t handle! Try and walk, drink those fluids, take your pain meds! Having a support group of family and friends (like all of you here) is a huge help!
I’m getting to bust outta this place soon and heading home....here’s to the next chapter!!

Congrats on crossing over to the Post-Op Crew! I'm right behind you. LOL

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!

I am 9 days out and starting to go from nervous to excited! I am doing my best to stick to the pre-op diet. I’d like to shed these last six pounds before surgery and hopefully the pre-op diet will help with that!

I finally formally requested leave from work, as my diet is pretty set in stone, provided that nothing comes up during pre-op testing, which is on Wednesday.

It's exciting. I have 3 days of waiting ahead and I can barely stand it. :) But all is well.

Good luck on Wednesday, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Hi all, I’m new here. Appreciate all your posts.
Date for my sleeve is 8-22 YAY!! FINALLY!! Have been trying to get this done for YEARS. Failed the first time due to unexpected financial issues at the very last minute. Now have different insurance so all is well. DID have to start over with regard to all the requirements, appointments, procedures etc. l
Have discovered I am (DUH!) a food addict-been in denial all my life. Working on coming to grips with that and collecting tools to fight that battle with...don’t want to be my own worst enemy post op. Best wishes to all!! Looking forward to sharing the journey 👍🙏🏻

Congrats on the date and your breakthrough! Best of luck in your journey!!
