That's good its worked for others.. i have no trouble sleeping though. I did the sleep study earlier this week and they gave me the cpap before i even did the study! Like I said I think its an insurance requirement issue.. ugh.

I just got a cpap machine and hate it. I don't have issues sleeping but my surgeon is making me use it for 90 days. I don't get it but its just not working for me at all. it was my 3rd night with it last night and i took it off after an hour. I guess this has something to do with insurance approval maybe? I got the nasal pillow too but can't stand wearing it..

    Hi,
Your story brought back alot of memories for me.. my mom had chrones disease and went through a lot of the same things as you did. She was diagnosed in the late 80's and went through countless surgeries until in late 97 she went in for a stoma repair and caught a staff infection.. she had 2 months in hospital to get rid of that and then had another surgery on the stoma in Jan 98. The next morning she got up from her bed to be walked around the hospital corridor and collasped and died. She had a pulmonary embolism. She was only 52 year olds. It was such a sad story because she went in for a stoma repair and never made it out.. Sorry just your story brought alot back. I hope you have great success and this will help you deal with your chrones easier.

Mine got rescheduled for the 13th as well! Originally I was 9/5, but I had to have oral surgery and that was cutting it too short to heal completely for intubation with VSG surgery.

Breakfast croissant sandwich (sausage), burger, Mexican food. Mild drinking (nothing too heavy, saying goodbye to beer and whiskey).
I'd already come to grips that I was giving up a lot of things that (I THOUGHT) brought me joy (but DIDN'T, they brought me damage to my body and self-loathing). I'll never hit a Chinese buffet again, eat a pizza, eat a whole hamburger, pound a beer with the boys, eat a big steak and baked potato. I'm fine with that. I'm focused on doing a whole lot of OTHER things that I've never been able to do very well before. Hiking. Roller coasters. Dancing. Swimming without making a spectacle of myself. Cycling. Walking down an airplane aisle without everyone studiously avoiding eye contact with me ("Please don't pick my middle seat, please don't pick my middle seat"). And maybe, if I can hit my goal, jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. I've had 33 years to abuse my body with junky food and bad choices. Time to do something more constructive with the rest of my life.

    My surgery is this Thursday
Before I had to do my three week Protein, we went to Olive Garden, McDonald, Wendy’s and skyline.
Now that I’m almost to the end of my three weeks I have no cravings for anything. I feel very blessed to be able to have this surgery.

    Hi,
I am thinking about the "last meals" I want to have before surgery. Any one else eat those things they think they won't be able to after? On my list are Thai Green curry, pancakes and bacon, a good steak dinner with baked potato, and some yummy cereals.. So far thats my list and growing. more about what I can handle now and know it will be many months until i can enjoy any of these things again.. and if i can the tiniest measures.

Hello friends. I'm a week away from my surgery and I'm getting so excited. I found a new friend I'm going to take him to the hospital with me. If you want one too they sell them on Amazon for about $13. Happy Friday everybody

Woo Hoo Ladies - I'm nearly 12 hours away from my surgery. I have to check in at 5:30am so I'm going to go to bed as early as possible tonight. I did one final kickboxing workout this morning so hoping that will help put me to sleep later on.
I've been wrapping up all sorts of errands to get things done before my surgery. Grocery shopping and meal planning for the family is done. Did a bunch of laundry and left some instructions for the hubby. I'm so grateful that I can afford someone to clean my house and they'll be coming while I'm in the hospital so I get to come to a completely clean and clutter free home.
    Ready to go!!!

I have vacation in 2 weeks so I am going to live up my eating and drinking on vacation then switch to practice mode pre-surgery. I am sad to not have wine for a year :(.. but all in all will be worth it!
