  1. But as someone whose weight has bounced up and down so many times over the years, that her middle name should have been Trampoline. You won't have a Happy Life until you commit to surgical intervention. EVERY TIME I LOST WEIGHT FROM MY TUMMY IT CIRCLED AROUND AND GOT ME IN THE BEHIND! I even categorized myself as having an Daisy Duck Upsweep back there! My older son when I would carry him in a Gerry Backpack would stand up,on the footrest which laid on top of the" upsweep". If I didn't move fast enough for his tastes he'd stomp his feet.
Ah the memories, he grew up and became suddenly my ANGEL SON at 31 when he died of an unsuspected heart and circulatory defect. If I had a clue what someday would have happened I would never stopped his stomping![emoji97][emoji97][emoji97][emoji25]
Sorry for your lost and i have two kids of my own and that is one of the main reasons i wanted to do this and you are right i guess its just my cold feet talking

  2. Hi there! My sleeve surgery is on 8/8/18 (lucky numbers, I know) I'm twenty-five years old, 5'10, and had a starting weight of 356 lbs. Have always been overweight or obese but never this heavy. My big lifestyle change occurred at the end of April and since then I've lost 44 lbs with a final pre-surgery goal of 50 lbs (originally 30 lbs). Hasn't been easy but knowing that the surgery is down the road has certainly kept me on track and accountable! Being so young, I understand my experience will likely be different than many others on here. My two-week liquid diet started a few days ago and has pretty thoroughly kicked my butt. I've got these incredible Bruce Banner/Hulk mood swings where even the mentioning of pizza is enough for me to rip someone's face off. It is difficult, but I'm getting through it.
For my fellow men out there, what big changes should I expect? Know I'll have excess skin but will gaining muscle post-op help manage that at all? What changes should I expect chemically? Any tips on how to approach one's love life after such a big transformation? Know I've got a great bunch of female friends who I'm sort of a "non-threatening" best friend for, did any of you find that those friendship dynamics change at all? Thanks so much! Also happy to answer any questions about my pre-op weight loss!
Im having surgery on the same day never notice the number until today good luck hope all goes well

  3. It is massive!
i have lost 75lbs. That is modest by some standards, but 1/3 of my pre-bypass body weight. Two things re riding:
On my Royal Enfield, max capacity 170kg, my partner and I can both go on it together, but before we were combined a bit heavy!
On my Triumph Bonneville, which we use for longer trips with my wife pillion, it used to cause her pain in the tendons at the top of her thighs. Now - not at all. She worked out - she needn’t spread her legs so far apart to get her knees either side of my backside!!!
Generally - I am fitter, stronger, healthier. I am walking uphill, climbing stairs, lifting weights a bit - I feel the difference as I fling the bike around.....
I guess it will take some time to getting used to but thanks for your story.

  4. Not really. Stay VERY hydrated helps. But at this point, putting lotion on your skin isn't going to help much, it's been stretched from being overweight for a while now (I assume you didn't JUST become overweight before surgery), so the oils and stuff that folks tell pregnant women to use, only work because the stretch is a short term stretch. Once you start working out, compression clothing will help keep everything "tucked in" and that *might* help prevent extra sagging... but sadly, it's just part of the process now. Age, weight, how long you've been overweight, etc are all going to be factors that play part in what's going to happen... and none of those are anything you can really control.
Thank for the reply. What conpression shirts would u recommend
