  1. Of course I want to not be slim and fit, but this surgery is for my health and so I can do more with my children while they are still young. So that I can live longer for them. I swear though I really dislike people with small minds. Like because I’m on the heavy side I don’t have feelings. Isn’t gross the way the world is today. People are cruel when you don’t match what they think is beauty.

  2. @mnbeane you got this. I think it’s about determination. You can do it. I believe in you. If I can do it anybody can. 😆 I cooked a whole meal for my family yesterday and didn’t eat anything from it. The good stuff too steak and mashed potatoes with broccoli and cheese. Boy was it hard but I did it.

  3. Cool Beans!! Started my liquid diet today. It really doesn’t seem bad at all. So far I’ve had 3 Protein Shakes and 12 peace’s of asparagus. 2 more shakes to go. Planning to switch out the asparagus for something different everyday. Who else has started today?? Are you feeling hungry? What Protein shakes are you using. I’m using syntax nectar they taste pretty good.

  4. My condolences to you and your family. Praying all is well for you. I’m kinda new here. I’ve been just looking reading, replies every now and then. I see we are surgery buddies. Thought I would say Hi.:D Not much of a social media person. But I love having people to relate too. Which I had found this site back in March.

Hello all. Checking in as I try and get back to normal as possible.

Thank you to everyone that reached out to me and posted kind words. I read them all and really appreciated them.

My dad did pass away last week. Even though he was sick for two years, the end was actually so quick and still a shock even though we've know for awhile that it was inevitable.

His service is not until this Thursday so my brother and I have been busy with planning the service so my mom doesn't have to. I am also hosting the memorial service/celebration of life at my house after the service so there is a lot to do. It's been good keeping busy but I might just go crazy with all the people in my house!

If there is any silver lining it's that time has been flying by since I've been so preoccupied that all my significant dates are fast approaching. My pre-op testing is tomorrow morning. Last appt with the surgeon is Aug 1. And I'll have my surgery fully paid this week. Then its just surviving the 1 week liquid diet.

After all this is over, I'll start catching up and adding all the new people and dates to the member list. But not before I have a lot to drink this weekend!

  5. How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? It’s great to hear people younger then myself are willing to do the surgery. Haven’t spoken with any. I have lots of older people(family mainly) telling me you can lose it if you tried your still young. Sucks to hear. I think this surgery is a big step for anyone at any age. I’m happy I made the decision to get it. Not happy I choose to tell my mom so much.:D

  6. Nervous because I have been below 200 pounds since I was 23 and had my first child. Nervous because I have been comfortable with my weight since then. Nervous because I’ve had a cesarean before and I don’t do well on anesthesia. I don’t like the pain you wake up too lol.

  7. Hello everyone. I am scheduled for my sleeve sometime in July won’t get the exact date until the end of the month. I am currently 268 but I started out 280. My insurance requires a 90 watch under a dietitian. The 26 of June makes my 90 days. I am so nervous but yet so ready. Hoping to get down to 180/175 haven’t been that weight since my twenties. I’m 5’5”. This is my second time starting this process. Last time I tried I discovered I was pregnant. I’m 31 with 2 children and done with babies. So I’m currently working towards a better me. Doctors predicted an 88 pound lost. Which I’m okay with but more is better 100 sounds great to me. Hoping to get there.
