I also had a little bit of a "freak out" moment last week when the hospital posted the results of the biopsy done of the stomach tissue that the surgeon removed. It was described as "glistening, pink, healthy tissue". Yes, I'm thankful that it wasn't diseased... but it did freak me a little to think that I voluntarily removed most of a perfectly healthy organ.
I was sleeved on 5/18 and I truly DO feel hunger... but I'm learning not to fear that hunger... rather eat that small amount every two hours like my nutritionist suggested and never feel ravenous.

I have said to my surgeon more than once that I feel like I never had a sleeve surgery. I have been blessed to have no vomiting, no dumping, etc. I almost feel like I wish I had that restriction so it would reinforce my new eating habits. I feel great and logically I know I had the surgery but with little side effects and I was stalled for a few weeks I was questioning the surgery.

I asked both of my sons it they would come in and video tape it. Sadly both said no. Would be proof though.

This is exactly how I feel. Sometimes I wish my abdomen could be see through for a moment so I could just see what's up in there.

yea nothin like looking at that 4th bite of food and going - ah never mind- then putting it down and just staring at that tiny plate with that tiny bit of food on it and not finishing it.
thats what really brought it home to me.

Ditto to what Matt said - this is your decision and since you didn’t come hear asking for advice on the abortion piece then no one should be pushing their opinions on your personal decision.

It sounds like you’ve made up your mind and done your diligence by checking with your surgeon. It’s perfectly ok to be worried and anxious over major life altering so just try not to stress about it. And know that we’re here whenever you need to vent.

Only you can decide what's right for you. Don't let anyone else tell you what you can and cannot do.

As far as the surgery, if your surgeon is aware of the abortion and says you'll be fine to keep your WLS date, then you have your answer. Don't worry about anyone else not performing your surgery, follow the advise of your surgeon.

Sending you hugs & love as you walk down this path, be kind and generous with yourself.
It’s not clear from your post if you spoke with your friends surgeon or if they spoke on your behalf. If your treating doctors are saying all is ok to go ahead and you are ready I’d say go for it. If you need more time, then wait.

I say do what is right for you health wise. If I were in your situation, I would do the same. It is clear that you aren’t ready for another child based on what you typed.
I wish you luck in whatever you choose

Hi there...I went to Hopkins and my insurance didn't cover it. There was only one doctor that did the procedure when I had mine last November. I haven't regretted it for one second. I'm down 64 pounds, exercise regularly and manage my portions.

Just wanted to share an update. Today makes 14 weeks since my procedure at John Hopkins and I'm down 45 pounds. I'm eating 2 - 3 small meals a day and exercising 3-4 times a week. I'm 35 pounds away from goal.

Once I had my date I let my work know so we could arrange for someone to do my job while I’m away. I told them I was having my hernia repaired, and I’d need between 2 to 3 weeks off. I’m going back after 2 weeks cause I feel awesome!
My work is pretty friendly and open, and I’ve shared different personal things before, but didn’t for this one.
    Love the kittens

At first, about 2 weeks post op I looked at the calendar was like "crap, I've got 6 more weeks of this.. ugh" Then I got cleared for the gym and to actually do things and I just didn't want to go back to work at all! Hell, even now I still don't want to be here. I really enjoyed being able to actually sleep and work on me. But... Yay Adulthood!

I had a stroke of luck with the small lunches and co-workers. I told everyone I had gallbladder removed plus a hiatal hernia repair (with the latter being true). As it turns out one of my colleague's husband actually did have the gall bladder removal plus hernia repair. She immediately said "oh you can't eat then, you must have been on liquids for awhile. Are you eating solids yet?" Turns out you can't eat after that! Cha-ching! My alibi confirmed independently!

    Welcome to the losers bench.
The gas pain was the 2nd worse part of the process (1st being the 2 weeks on the preop diet).
Hope your gas goes soon, I walked a lot and there was lots of burping and passing gas for a few days. It’s a very musical experience lols
