mckenzie got a reaction from Frustr8 in No meat
Okay so anyone else have a complete intolerance post op with any kind of meat. My pouch doesn’t like it and I don’t care for it either. I prefer veggies and that’s about it. I’m not really getting any Protein in other than the drinks which my program wants me off of. I’m over a month post op right now.

mckenzie got a reaction from Frustr8 in IV fluids and frustration
Anyone else get extremely annoyed when they’ve had to get IV fluids and then weigh the next day and you’ve gained a few pounds?! I understand this happens (especially when you got 8 bags within 48 hours) but ugh it just frustrates me. The IV fluids weren’t for dehydration only - I had a stricture develop and had to stay overnights until the surgeon could get me in to fix it. I had finally gotten under 200 lbs too and now I’m back right at 200 lbs... Oh well I guess.. Now I’m just focusing on my fluids and sticking to my nutritionists advice.

It is frustrating...take it from someone who has had 6 abdominal surgeries. I kinda freaked out with this last surgery because I gained 28 lbs. My clothes wouldn't fit and it was painful to walk with all the Fluid. It comes off though...just takes time!

Vent away, mckenzie. This is one of those irrational frustrations that you understand but you don't want to accept. That intermediate goal of "under-200lbs" is one most of us have dreamed about, and here you had to see your weight go above that goal. I'd look at it this way: the first time you drop below 200lbs is a happy day... and so, when you drop below 200lbs again, you get to enjoy another happy day. Two happy days are better than one happy day, right?

mckenzie got a reaction from Frustr8 in Hard to lay in bed
It’s hard for me to lay any way. I slept in bed for the first time last night but I only slept on my right side and back a little bit but it was not very comfortable even with pillows. -

mckenzie got a reaction from Frustr8 in Pickle snocone 😩
Honestly I didn’t think about that. Thank you! That very well may have been the issue. Hopefully later I can do those because it was the best thing I’ve had since surgery but it made me have some pretty rough issues! -

mckenzie got a reaction from Frustr8 in Water?
Im 2 weeks post op tomorrow and having some issues with Water, propel, or any liquid. I can keep it down but it feels like it’s getting stuck on the way down or like I’ve got air trapped. I’m not using straws or anything like that and taking baby sips. It hurts in my throat and chest area. I have a appointment tomorrow at 1 pm but I really can’t go that long not drinking anything. Anyone else experience this? It’s happening with any drink.

mckenzie got a reaction from Frustr8 in Burning stabbing pain
I’ve been trying to take Tylenol and I’m so thankful my job isn’t very demanding. It’s never a issue until I go to bend down or something. I start school back August 7th and I’m freaking out that I won’t be ready to go for my clinicals. I’m in nursing school so I’m needing to be ready lol. I asked my doctor about it but I don’t think he’s understanding what I’m saying because he said it was incision pain. I’ll just have to show him I guess at my next appointment. -
mckenzie got a reaction from BostonWLKC in No limit on food amount?
I’ll have to definitely keep that in mind! -
mckenzie got a reaction from Frustr8 in Burning stabbing pain
I may have to rest for a few days. I went back to work a week and a half after surgery with no issues and bending hasn’t been a problem either. It’s just all of a sudden now it’s a problem. I definitely probably just over did it. -

They said no physical limitations. Just said if it hurts stop. I didn’t hurt while cleaning or doing the laundry but it was afterwards. I sat down and went to get up and was hurting bad. I’m just not sure what the heck.

mckenzie got a reaction from Frustr8 in Burning stabbing pain
I had the most productive day so far since surgery. I’ve been behind on house work due to surgery so I got some stuff done today. I cleaned bathrooms, kitchen, bedroom, and did all the laundry that had piled up. I felt so good for being productive but now I’m having a severe burning/ pulling pain in my left lower abdomen and back. It feels like someone is stabbing me if I bend down or try to straighten up. It’s not incision pain because it’s below my incisions. I took 20mg of liquid pain meds from hospital it was hurting so bad and it is barely touching it. It only doesn’t hurt when I’m sitting in my recliner. I had this pain right after surgery for a little over a week and it’s way worse now. I can’t handle how bad it is. I think it’s nerve pain or something with the muscle but still. :’(
