My surgeon allowed me to start eating soft food 5 days after surgery. I was able to eat everything just fine. Just try one food at a time.

SleevedJuneBug reacted to IveGotThePower in Why is it that we can no longer for the rest of our lives drink carbonated drinks or carbonated water like Perrier?
I drink carbonated beverages (Zevia and LaCroix) sometimes 2 or 3 times a week and sometimes every few weeks. I have now for over a year after my Registered Dietition from my bariatric program suggested it. I also do Kombucha which she suggested and I drink from straws! Yes, call me a rebel! I just sip and don't chug. I do burp a lot, but that's it. After you're healed you can try it and see. But I definitely wouldn't chug it. You're pouch would definitely explode! Totally! And that would be unpleasant.

Thats crap... There is no way your stomach will expand from carbonated drinks. I had my surgery January 18th, 2018 and I drank 2 coronas for the 1st time since my surgery at my daughters baby shower July 8th. I was able to drink them..not chug them down but 3 good sips at a time. I also found that Pepsi and Fresca dont upset my stomach. I drink a lot of unsweetened tea, juice, and Water. I drink maybe a quarter of a bottle of soda a month.. I waited until I was 12 weeks post op to try a carbonated drink. . You will be fine.

SleevedJuneBug got a reaction from Lyngolean in April Sleevers check in!
Surgery Date: 4/18/2018
Starting Weight: 300lbs
Total Loss: 30lbs
Current Weight: 270
I've experienced two stalls so far lasting around four weeks total. It's very easy to get down about not continuously losing the weight but I know my body is still trying to figure it out. I don't get all the Protein I need in a day but because of dumping syndrome everything pretty much goes right through me including Protein Shakes. I drink tons of Water though. I still get actual hunger pains and feel hungry often which is disappointing but someone pointed out that the feeling of hunger in your stomach could actually be from acid so taking Gaviscon tablets could help with that, I'll have to give that a try. Hopefully I start losing weight again soon. I'm so ready to be over this stall.

SleevedJuneBug got a reaction from Crcountry in When will it stop hurting to drink water?
I'm 7 weeks out from surgery and Water is still a bit uncomfortable to drink in the morning or a large gulp. It sucks though because I absolutely love water, I'm always thirsty. I can say though that it definitely has gotten better day by day. Guess it just takes time.

SleevedJuneBug got a reaction from TxAlpha06 in I'm stuck
I had my surgery April 18th and have lost 30 pounds since then. I've gone through two stalls so far lasting about four weeks total. Stalls are definitely a thing but I think you're losing way above average, so way to go!

SleevedJuneBug got a reaction from foxcblue in Loosing slowly
I completely understand. I'm 7 weeks out and have had two stalls already, that lasted two weeks each. But I've lost 30 pounds in that time somehow, lol. I keep thinking I'm doing poorly but then I look at my total weight loss and realize it will just take time. Our bodies tries to hold on to the fat for dear life because we're not getting as many calories as before. You're doing just fine.

SleevedJuneBug reacted to Lauren1234 in Anyone that started around 300 want to share your stats?
I’m a 37 year old female. My highest weight was 350, then I got down to 303 on my own before the 10 day pre op diet. I lost 16 pounds on the 10 day diet, so I was 287 on the day of my surgery. Now I’m seven months out from surgery and weigh 172, so I’m actually a few pounds below my goal weight of 175, and I’m now slowly starting to ease into a maintenance phase.

I was sleeved on 1/9/18.
325 start
316 day of surgery after preop diet
295 3 weeks later
So 30 lbs in a month.

SleevedJuneBug reacted to beckyagain in Anyone that started around 300 want to share your stats?
I was 321.8 on 11/9 (HW)
302.6 on 11/20 (SW)
243.4 today (CW, 10.5 weeks after surgery, down 78.4# total so far)
I seem to be losing faster than average. I healed quickly and was only off work for a week.
My first week after surgery I lost about 9 pounds. I was down 30 pounds the first month after surgery.
I stick to my diet, log every single thing, aim for 90g Protein and <40g carbs every day right now.
How are things going for you?

SleevedJuneBug got a reaction from SleeveinIL in Built In Early Warning System!
That's really cool, it's like a special ability. I wish I had some early warning indicator to stop eating, I almost always eat just a little too much to feel uncomfortable every time, it sucks.

SleevedJuneBug got a reaction from sssmtx in Week 4
Things I enjoy at 3 1/2 weeks out are about a 1/3 of a hamburger with ketchup, some grilled chicken breast with BBQ or Teriyaki sauce, tuna salad, grilled salmon, 1 strip of bacon and 1/4 cup of scrambled eggs, deli turkey meat with a slice of cheese, and throw some veggies or brown rice into any of the Entrees and you got a meal. Anything with Protein keeps me full for a while so I try to always have some meat first before I eat anything else.
