Do ALL DS'rs have problem with smelly poop?
Briswife15 replied to SAMMY1970's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I had bypass 11 months ago and was worried about this presurgery. All I can say is that for me post bypass poop doesn't smell any worse than pre bypass. Maybe in the beginning it did, but at almost a year out it is just a normal stink!![emoji6] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Advice needed regarding which surgery to get
Briswife15 replied to VRox33's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hello! I'm 10 months post gastric bypass and chose that at my doctor's suggestion since I already had GERD, and the sleeve can make it worse. My diabetes is gone! Hope the same for you post surgery. My insurance doesn't cover mini GB, so it was bypass for me. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Thanks,@MsMocie. I do take Pantoprazole for my stomach. But that said, I still can't take NSAIDS. My orthopedic surgeon is not up on what pain meds a bariatric patient can take, which is why I'm asking here. There might be something that folks here have found to be helpful. I am at a healthy weight now, and don't think more weight loss will help my neck!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Picking a goal weight...Psychiatrist worried
Briswife15 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Update on my goal weight and current weight. Saw my bariatric team this week and I am not underweight! 8 pounds from their goal for me, and more like 15 pounds from my goal. Which they did not disagree with. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Wishing you all the best! I'm sure you will look terrific in time for tank tops next summer! Hoping you have a speedy recovery with minimal pain. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Picking a goal weight...Psychiatrist worried
Briswife15 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you, 2Bsmaller18! I appreciate your thoughtful reply. Im not beating myself up, but will feel like a failure if I don't lose the last 2 pounds to make it to a "healthy " weight. I didn't come this far to still be "overweight "! I would be fine at 130 or 135. I agree that I've got lots of loose skin which will add some pounds, so 120 is probably not achievable! My weight loss has really slowed down to about a pound a week, if that. From the early days of losing 1/2 pound a day!! I tend to plateau for 4 weeks, then lose a few pounds, then stay there another 4 weeks. Thanks for your support![emoji4] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Malabsorption of Vitamins? High serum levels
Briswife15 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thanks! My GP says my levels are so high, 2000, because I have deficiencies. Im going to ask bari surgeon if I need B12 injections because it's obvious my body is not absorbing it. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Thanks, ValerieinMexico. I did have my iron checked, and I'm not anemic. All basic bloodwork was normal, but I'm having my bariatric team run tests for vitamin and protein levels next week, along with some other tests. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Taking 95% of vitamins & supplements - nails suddenly brittle and breaking!
Briswife15 replied to KarenLR75's topic in The Gals' Room
Hi, KarenLR75! Yes, I tried the powder dip nails at home...2 days later I had to soak them iff because the layers of acrylic "popped" off one nail leaving it bare! I tried to open the bottles to reapply to kust one nail, and they were sealed shut and impossible to open! My nails aren't damaged from the powder dip because I soaked for an hour in acetone and didn't try to pry the acrylic off. If I do it again, I will have it professionally done! I loved how durable and "protected" my nails felt when I had it on. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I’m starting to despise my chewable vitamins...
Briswife15 replied to pssk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use Bariatric Advantage chewables and actually like the taste! Shop around til you find a brand that doesn't make you nauseous. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I was asking about that because I recently took Dayquil and swesr that one of the pills got stuck in the opening between my pouch and intestines! I had pain for about an hour. I'm going to stick to liquid Nyquil. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
