    Buying clothe

Find a good local place to donate your clothes to. Some people have a hard time getting rid of old items and this will ensure that you’ll have that “feel good” feeling when you say goodbye to your old clothes. I donate them to the school I work for because I know they go directly to students that need them. They aren’t resold somewhere. As for restocking, try goodwill or old navy for “transition” clothes.

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

Nope, just no need to describe your protein at all....dense, moist, finger licking, stick to your ribs, decadent, succulent, mouth watering. 🤢 I’m going to lose consciousness

Can I just say when people say “dense protein” I want to puke 😂 what a gross description. Although I’m super weird and hate all words that describe food; cooking shows make me crawl out of my skin

I Believe It Was Worth It

Best decision ever! I only wish I had done it sooner. I’m 115 lbs lighter, sleep better, feel better, laugh more, better self esteem, love shopping.! ❤️❤️❤️

  6. My surgeons office had a specific list of approved psychologists we had to choose from
  7. Not losing specifically. Just lifestyle changes, which of course resulted in weight loss
  8. How would they know though?
  9. I didn’t, told them I was having my gallbladder out (which I did) I felt my kids didn’t need to be stressed about having an elective surgery.

    Pre OP diet

I believe the pre-op diet is more for shrinking the liver, then for weight loss. Obviously with the reduction of calories, weight loss in inevitable however, look at it more that your liver is shrinking and your body will be in the best condition for surgery.

    Fav WLS App?

I use Baritastic and happy scale. I like happy scale bc it has a predictive feature to show how much weight you will in one week, months, etc I like baritastic bc you can input your measurements
  13. Ask if you can have it rescheduled for a date after the 2 weeks
  14. Mine wasn’t great about communication but any questions I had I would call or ask while I was there. You have to be your own advocate (and be a little pushy)
  15. Call back and see if you can get an appointment sooner. Sometimes going in for an appointment can reset your mindset
  16. I don’t remember what liquids vs full liquid were; basically I could have water and protein shakes until I went for my follow up 8 days after. Then I think it was yogurt, cottage cheese etc

Rant: MIL is obsessed with people’s weight

This is my grandmother! It’s so awful
  18. Call your nutritionist and go in for an appt. tell them exactly how you are feeling
  19. I’ve heard you have to really start taking biotin during the pre-op stage. Otherwise it only helps with regrowth, not the hair that’s falling out.
  20. After you eat too fast and things get stuck or you throw up, give your tummy a rest for a day or so. It gets irritated, at least mine does. Go back a stage and eat softer things
  21. I'm stronger then tagalongs ...it's all good

    Feeling Lostttt

Call your insurance company. I asked them specifically what the costs would be. $100 for the surgery , $100 for the hospital stay and then an additional charge of the anesthesiologist was out of network, so I called the hospital to get a list of all the possible ones to ensure I was getting one in network. You have to advocate for yourself
