I am a 43 year old mother of 3, ages 11, 13 and 14. I am an RN working in the behavioral health field. I am also on my second career. The first was working at a Real Estate Title Company for many years before I met my husband and had kids. After staying home with the kids when they were little, I decided to pursue a career in nursing and I love it. I have a bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies and now a bachelor's in Nursing. I am definitely an introvert, quiet until you get to know me; then I am sarcastic and funny.

Just today I had a couple of small spoonfuls of fried rice with my Black Pepper chicken and Beef and Broccoli from Panda Express. It was awesome! Turned that plate of food into 3 meals. I also have started making my kids' favorite again, chicken alfredo penne Pasta, in which I also partake. The pasta is high Protein so I kind of justify it that way. I don't eat nearly as much as I used to however. Smaller portions.

I wish the surgeons would have a special rate for turning tennisball in tube sock syndrome into something a little perkie. I'd like to a hand full from the cloth waitresses wipe tables off with. Cracks me up sometimes, the guys are over crowing about extra inches in their package on their forum, we only wish someone had a sale on seat belt retractors so we could roll ours up to stuff in a bra. Ain't fair Magee, ain't fair!😪

I'd say it depends on how you lose weight. I had my reduction a long time ago and my dr didn't require me to lose weight, but I also had enough weight loss history to know that I lose weight in my boobs LAST. My roommate after college on the other hand had 4 different bra sizes in her drawer because she lost and gained weight there first. If you aren't sure I'd wait a little longer and let things stabilize. Totally worth it though!! No regrets about having my reduction in my 20's and if the girls start dragging I would totally get a lift again.

I waited for 6 months after hitting & maintaining goal weight before having a breast lift. It was a long wait, but I think it was worth it. I mean, I already had awful boobs for my whole life, what's a few more months? I wanted my body to be stable before dropping lots of money on altering it again.
In clothes, my before and after pics are the same.
In my opinion, you could use this time to really research plastic surgeons and interview them. I saw 7 cosmetic surgeons before I chose. Find before and after pics of others patients who have had the surgery; save the ones you think are ideal AND the pics you think look terrible. These will help your doctor.
How exciting for you! Congratulations on losing weight!

Yes a legit post. I am post op, and yes I know that they are considered a slider food. I was just trying to see what foods others have found settle on their new stomachs, after surgery and transitioning from liquid, to pureed, its not easy to know what will and will not settle. Trust me potatoes are not on the regular menu, and when i do enjoy them its 2 or 3 little bites. So calm yourself.

Nope...not 53! Try again... LOL! I am 43 and female so that puts me at about 1750. I like the idea of using the ideal weight for BMR, that puts me at about 1350. I'm definitely under that! Thanks everyone for the advice/discussion!

I went to the BMR calculator, put in my info, and nothing came up. Am I dead? Dang. I hate THAT-- I'm always the last one to know these things!

I am 10 weeks out and have just been looking into my BMR. Apparently my BMR is right around 1700 calories for my weight and height. Right now I am talking in about 700-900 calories a day so way below my BMR. How does this work after having surgery? I don't think I can even get close to 1700 calories in a day. Do we not worry about BMR after surgery or should I be upping my calories? P.S. I have been losing slowly.

So hard to believe it was 10 weeks ago today, we just got back from a 7 day cruise where I took baby bites of pretty much anything I wanted but I didn't overstep anything because I definitely didn't want to spend my vacation sick. I'm so happy to say I lost 4 lb on our seven day cruise which puts me at a total of 69 pounds lost in 10 weeks. I am so excited about the weight loss my surgeon seems definitely very pleased and knock on wood I haven't had any sickness I did have about a 20 to 30-minute bout with the foamies. Which was not very pleasant whatsoever and I researched it to kind of see what could have caused it. So I hope everybody is doing well good luck with everybody that's on either side of the bench and just keep up the great work.

Dude, it's all you. And no, I haven't had a sleeve.I mean, a few seconds of research can show you what I've been through, which surgeries I've had, etc. But you'd rather just assume. And someone asking for advice is under exactly zero obligation to follow anyone's suggestion, why are you so butt hurt that Taylor's not agreeing with your opinion? Because, that's all it is, for advice, it's your opinion. You don't know the OP, you aren't Taylor's doctor, you've got no reason to care if the OP listens to you? Says more about you than anything. Dude... I can see why you have a negative reputation rating now. You know what's wrong, getting mad at someone that's not doing exactly what you say, good intentions or not, you are not only being rude and aggressive, you are being childish and unsupportive. What's worse is that you can't even see how negative you really are. I feel bad for you actually. So delusioned that you think someone else is wrong because you are being controlling. You need some help bro.

I lost maybe 13 pounds in the first week and have only lost 3 pounds since then and I'm almost a month out. I stick to between 450-700 calories a day, getting my Protein and fluids in. It can be very frustrating. I'm trying not to be at this point. Did she take measurements before surgery? Even through a stall, we can be losing inches. My clothes fit much better and I'm actually in a size smaller at this point. Good luck!

10 days out I was still on pureed foods. Have you tried pureeing things? My favorite was turkey or chicken deli meat (2 oz.) with a little bit of jarred gravy (1-2 Tbsp.) and 1 Tbsp of mashed potatoes. Kind of like thanksgiving dinner. I've also done pureed meat with 1-2 Tbsp. light mayo, low sugar marinara sauce, sugar free BBQ Sauce, light ranch dressing, etc. It's definitely best not to be eating any chunks at this point and if you happen to get a chunk, chew it really well! I also like light cottage cheese (3 Tbsp.) with 1 Tbsp. of pureed fruit in it's own juice, my favorite is pears. Take it slow in advancing your foods. Has your nutritionist given you a list of approved foods at this point? Good luck!

I am almost a month out and have just rediscovered scrambled eggs. They are so good! I normally add a 1-2 Tbsp of shredded cheese, a splash of Fairlife milk and a little bit of onion flakes to one egg and it is very nummy. That and 1/2 of a clementine fill me right up. As long as it's specifically on your plan, I say go for it.

My hubby had his gall bladder out a few months before my surgery. We're thinking of flashing our tummies to the grandkids (when we have some) and telling them that we were involved in a shoot-out with the mob!
