    Preparation

I completely agree. Complete behavioral change is in order with this surgery.
  2. The protein shakes do get old the first week, but they do help. Each doctor is different in their post-op instructions so I'm not sure how long you have to be on liquids. I know when I started with soft foods, cottage cheese and high-protein yogurt helped me get my protein. Check the protein shake cook book at bariatricfoodie.com, too. All the best to you!
  3. I was lucky because I didn't have any pain in any of my incisions. Could it be the waistline on your clothes? I hope you feel better!

    Preparation

How important was it for you to be mentally prepared for bariatric surgery as well as physically prepared?

    Food

I've not gone to restaurants yet, but am going tomorrow night. I understand Olive Garden has great menu items for sleevers (I got that from bariatricfoodie.com). But it's good to know that Texas Road House has menu items that would go well - and I do love leftovers!

    Food

I haven't tried that yet but it sounds great!!

    Food

Small portions, chew the food at least 30 times, take your time, and stop when your pouch feels full but not stuffed. Most importantly, follow your doctor's instructions to the letter. When is your surgery or have you had it already?

    Food

I've heard a lot of people say their taste has changed, but mine hasn't.

    Food

I was just like that when I ate my first scrambled egg!

    Food

Was there a particular food you were happy to eat (in moderation of course) again when you finished the liquid and soft food stages? Mine were hot sauce and green chiles, LOL!!

    Getting sleeved on 5/03/18

Glad to hear you came out of surgery well! Congratulations! How's it going so far?

    Driving

I didn't take any pain meds during my 2-week recovery. I was cleared to drive after my recovery though. Drove me crazy...(see what I did there?)

    New Here

I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time all around, but most of all for your husband's lack of support. You have to remember you're doing this for yourself; not anyone else. There are, and will be, people who want to discourage you but you just have to keep on going because it is about you, your health, and your happiness. I really hope the new doctor follows through. Let us know how it went.
  15. I love to cook! But I hadn't done it since before my surgery. I finally cooked the other day, but gave most of it to my family LOL! I'd be up for a recipe exchange without pictures.
